Do you want to monitor and guard (cyber) security threats for KPN and its clients?

Your job as Cyber Security Operator/Analyst

You make sure that our customers can always reach their corporate information from anywhere in the world in a secure fashion. This results in your job having significant societal impact.

As an experienced Security Operator/Analyst you are responsible for:

• Coaching and training of other (junior) security analysts.

• Active and continuous monitoring of KPN infrastructure for attacks against KPN systems, or a set of KPN customers, and initiate actions that limit possible damages to a minimum.

• Identify and analyze events to prevent or remedy (threatening) incidents.

• Implementation of new monitoring / analysis technology, adding domains to surveillance, and improving configurations such as HP ArcSight.

• In addition, a monitoring task in the field of vulnerability management i.e. vulnerabilities in IT assets should be identified and structurally repaired.

What do we expect from you?

We are looking for studious and creative people that like to solve puzzles and enjoy getting to the bottom of an attack. In terms of skills, this is the kind of profile we have in mind:

• Excellent understanding of networks, switches, routers, servers, windows, linux and different IP protocols.

• Good understanding of Information Security, Vulnerability Management / Assessment, Intrusion Detection, End Point Protection, Splunk, Sourcefire, Security Audits, DDoS, etc.

• Knowledge of HP ArcSight i.e. giving feedback on the HP ArcSight rules, filters and expressions, as to optimise the operation of HP ArcSight.

• Fluent in English.

Note: it is not required to work in 24/7 shift roster.

Who are we?

Security is a high priority issue these days. One of the responses on the need for more control and security is offering Security Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM) services from the Security Operations Centre (SOC). The Security Operations Centre handles Security monitoring, log management and various other security related services for internal and external customers. The team is highly skilled and has a continuous drive to share and obtain knowledge. To increase the shared knowledgebase, every member of the team takes part in the KPN Academy. The activities take place from the SOC in Hilversum (Witte Kruislaan).
