In no more than 300 words, please describe how your professional background makes you a suitable candidate for this post and also describe what you would like to achieve if you were elected to this post.

Over 10 years experience on community based HIV, TB program design, project management at country level. I have been a manger to A PlWHA organization for 8 years in this time i have been planning, organizing and directing community based HIV and TB program, which include directly providing comprehensive care and support to the patients. In addition I have been participated in different TB workshops which include Two TB basic science training given by TAG and I have taken ACSM training workshop given By PATH and STOP TB partnership which is given in Tanzania Regional ACSM Workshop. I have conducted TB related training to35 community activists 3 times my current organization. Inaddition.my organization is currently in forefront In THE fight against TB.we have once secured challenge fund and done a good implementation of ACSM program. currently I am full time working for Ethiopia treatment access as manger and conducting Treatment literacy on TB and HIV,Advocacy,capacity building and monitoring and evaluation of the TWO disease(TB and HIV)

I have second degree in social science particularly Human Geography. Currently taking LLB .I have more than ten years experience In community based NGO management, have taken different training on TB and HIV,Currently I am a manager of Ethiopia Treatment Access Movement an organization which work for TB and HIV Advcacy,literacy and community mobilization. I am a board member of regional networks of PLWHA and regional east Africa Treatment Access Movement. I am one of the founder of East Africa Treatment Access movement and ITPC.

Over 10 year’s professional experience in NGO HIV/AIDS programs. Specific professional experience include: project management, project formulation, project evaluation, need assessment, and training/workshop facilitation, in community development project, in emergency operations, in conducting action research, studies and household economy analysis

Short training and workshop

• Participated  on  training  programs  on project cycle  management organized by CRDA from May 20‐30‐ 2002 and July 1‐9‐2002. 

• Participated  in African  development  forum  2000  (held  from3‐december)  in  United  Nations  conference center, Addis Ababa Ethiopian. 

• Participated  on  training  program  on  proposal 

development  for  PLWHA  community  based 

group  and  networks  organized  by  CAFS  from 

February 25 to march 1, 2002 

• Participated  on  training  program  on  visionary  leadership  development  organized  by  CAFS,  Packard foundation, spinning for nine months, 29th  September 2005.  

• Participated  on  training  program  on  training  of 

master  trainers  in  comprehensive  prevention

care  support  in  HIV/AIDS  held  at  rift  valley 

Nazareth  organized  by  action  aid  from  September  21  2004‐1stOctober  module  1  and  module  2  from  2nd‐12th November 2004. 

• Participated on training program on HIV treatment 

literacy  advocacy  organized  by  NAP+  from 

11thto  15  April  2005  held  at  coliseum  HOTEL,  Pretoria, South Africa. 

• Attended  a  conference  on  HIV/AIDS  community  treatment  access  for  PLWHA  un  east  Africa  Darussalam  Tanzania    organized  by  EATAM    from  may 16‐20 2005

• Participated on training program on NAP+ pediatric 

treatment  literacy  advocacy  workshop  from 

14th to 18th November organized by NAP+ Mombasa,  Kenya. 

• Participated on training program on leadership and  management   organized  by  NAP+  from  May  2‐31‐ 2007, held at olive garden hotel Nairobi, Kenya. 

• 15  days training  on  stepping  stone,  which  focus on  behavioral  change  communication  in  June  2002  organized by ACTION Aid Ethiopia. 

• 5 days training on local capacity for peace project in  January 2002 organized by CRDA.

Work Experience

From 2008 up to now: I am doing consultancy and designing proposal being privately employed.

From march 2001-2008; have been working at different capacity, social worker and then project officer and then branch manager in one local NGO.

From october2000-january 2001; have been working as project officer in action aid Ethiopia directly responsible to:

¾ Appraisal of short term partners on Anti-HIV/AIDS

work following AAE appraisal procedure.

¾ Review and feedback on partner’s quarterly report.

¾ Support short term &long term partners including

operational Das on HIV/AIDS related works.

¾ Preparing HIV/AIDS related proposal.

¾ Organizing HIV/AIDS sensitization workshop to

I  have  participated  in  the  11THconference  titled  advocacy  and  leadership  organized  by  GNP  in 

Uganda. 

 

I  have  participated  in  the  14international  AIDS  conference in Bangkok, Thailand.

 

Participated  in  governance  ,strategic  planning  of  ITPC  (international  treatment  preparedness)in  bangkok,Thailand in 2007

 

I  have  participated  on  leadership  and  advocacy  in  April 15TH2005 in Pretoria, South Africa.
