FIT College Online is a state of the art online learning platform that
has been developed by FIT College. The following User guide will
assist you in understanding the basic navigation around the website
and how to ensure that you being your learning journey with ease!
STEP 1:
From the Homepage / “my Details” page (opening screen) – click on the video tutorial and watch a step by step guide to navigating the FIT College Online Learning Platform.

PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT GUIDE
This document (PDF) provides a detailed summary of the practical application and assessment that takes place in the 3 x 1 day workshops at the FIT College Campus
STEP 4:
Learning topics
Learning Topics are listed in the Left hand navigation.
Key Terms :
"Learning Topics" - This refers to the overall learning module. It will contain many "chapters", as well as additional resources, an assessment Work Book as well as an exam to complete the assessment process. Each Topic contains many learning "competencies" towards your overall certification.
COURSE CONTENT SUMMARY
This document (PDF) provides a summary of the content covered in your course, listing the various Topics and Chapters that will be covered by the course.
Learning Topics are listed in the navigation bar to the left. Click on the learning topic to view the "overview" of the topic as well as the "chapters" involved.
"Chapters" - These are the titles broken down in each specific Learning topic. Each Chapter will consist of multiple "Lectures" in PDF and movie formats that you will work through, along with additional resources, to gain knowledge.
Each Learning Topic will contain a "Chapter" of study material. Click on the chapters to view "lectures" and study material for the Learning Topic.
"Lectures" - Chapters are broken down into "lectures". These are your study material and notes for the Learning Topic broken down into specific lectures of study.
Please ensure that you work through the lectures in order and take the time to fully comprehend and understand key terms and principles
"Unit of Competency" - Define the requirements for effective performance. Successful completion of a "Learning Topic" may see you assessed against many units of competency. In order for a student to be awarded Certificate III (SIS30310) and Certificate IV (SIS40210) in Fitness - they must be deemed competent in all of the courses competencies (meaning successful completion of ALL learning Topics). You will also find a full list of competencies in the "My Results" tab at the top of your FIT College Online Student Site.
PLEASE NOTE: You must complete the Topics in the order that they appear in the navigation. e.g. you must complete "My Fitness Career" before you can access study material for "Working in the Fitness Industry"
STEP 5:
Video Tutorial for each individual Learning Topic.
You will notice at the top of the Learning Topics – there is a video tutorial to assist you to navigate the topics.
PLEASE NOTE: Once you get the navigation and step by step approach to completing a Learning Topic you will have no problems in the future. As ALL learning topics follow the exact same navigation and list of steps to complete (just the content and learning material is different).
Step 6:
Step by Step guide to navigate Learning Topics.
Step 1:
Download your Work Book. This is a document that will assist you in comprehending the learning material and course content. Please click on the link that says “Click here for yourworkbook” and download the PDF document to your computer. It is advisable that you print the document off and complete the book whilst watching and viewing the lectures for the topic.
Step 2:
Work through the “Chapters in order”.Each Learning Topic will contain a "Chapter" of study material. Click on the chapters to view "lectures" and study material for the Learning Topic.
Click on the first “Chapter” for the My Fitness Career Learning Topic – called 1. Induction and orientation.
You will notice another step by step instruction guide. Please follow the instructions and view the study material in “lecture format”.
“Lectures” are in a Large Slide and Handout format. The “Large Slides” are great to view full page on your computer screen – and the “Handouts” are great if you want to print the material and make additional notes (if applicable).
You will also see many “Video Lectures” – these are the lecture material with Voice Overs that talk you through the lecture material.
Once you have completed the “Chapters” and “lectures” for the Learning topic – and completed your “workbook” – click back to the Overview of the learning Topic and follow the steps.
Step 3:
Additional resource manuals are available for many of the Learning Topics (not applicable in 1. My Fitness career). These are great for people that love to read!! Lots of information regarding the topic.Step 4:
Download Supplementary resources.These are additional information and resources that may assist in your education and understanding of the topic.
Step 5:
Completed your workbook.Once you have completed your “Work Book” – you can click the button that says “Workbook Complete”. Remember, work books are non-assessable, and do NOT have to be submitted to FIT College for marking.
This will then open up the “online Exam” and “Assessment Log Book” for you to complete for the Learning Topic.
Step 6:
Click on the Link that says “click here for your online exam”ALL your instructions and information to complete the online exam are detailed for you. Please ensure you read these instructions carefully and follow them each time. The Exams are Online Based and timed. So ensure that you have sufficient time to complete the exam.
Step 7:
When you have completed the Online Exam – the results will be posted step 7. Please note: You must achieve 100% in all exams to be deemed competent. However, there are no maximum amount of attempts.Click the button that says “sent” and move onto the next step.
Step 8.
Download your Assessment Logbook and complete the tasks for the topic. Please ensure that you read all instruction carefully.
Step 9. Assessment upload
Uploading your assessment items to FIT College for marking. Please submit all
assessment items via the upload function.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
CLUSTER ASSESSMENT
Please submit all your assessment tasks for this log book together.
You cannot continue on to the next topic until all your logbook tasks are submitted. Please ensure your name is on each document before it is uploaded
To submit EACH assessment task:
1. Use the task dropdown menu to select the assessment task you are submitting.
2. Use the “Browse” button to select the corresponding file to upload from your computer
3. Once the file is selected click the “Upload” button to upload your file. (or click the
“Cancel” button to cancel and clear the form)
4. Once the task has been uploaded successfully it will appear in the task list below the
“Upload” and “Cancel” buttons. (The task / file name fields will be cleared for a new upload.)
5. When you have finished uploading all your assessment tasks click the “Save
Assessment and Return to Topic” Button
6. If all the assessment tasks are uploaded the system will automatically mark the logbook
as completed.
To resubmit an assessment task:
Follow the same procedure as described above
In step 3 above the “Upload” button will become a “Resubmit” button.
By uploading your assessment directly from your computer to Fit College
Online, you are stating that the work you are submitting is your own work and
has not been completed by another person.
Final Step:
Whenever you tick a box or have completed all the steps in a learning Topic – please click the button at the bottom of the page called “Save Assessment and Close Study Material”.
