Exercise 3, page 5 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Our House

My name is Shakir. I was born in London. My father and my mother are from Saudi and I live with them in West London. It is an attractive, quiet, safe area. Most of the houses in our area are detached. There are also terraced houses and semi-detached houses. In the area there are also some luxurious flats.

Our house is one of the most beautiful houses in the area. It is a detached house comprised of two storeys. On the ground floor there is a dining room, a kitchen, a toilet and a small bathroom. On the first floor there is a sitting room, a study and a medium-sized guest bedroom. On the second floor there are four bedrooms and two bathrooms with toilets. Our house is equipped with central heating, and behind it is a large garden full of flowers and as well there is a wide swimming pool. In front of it [i.e. the house] is a private parking space for two cars, and a pretty collection of flower containers.By the front door there is an electric door bell on the wall.

My bedroom is the smallest room in the house. In it there is an iron bed, a chair, a new Macintosh computer, a rectangular mirror hanging on the wall, and a wardrobe. In front of the window of the room is a square wooden desk on which there is a lamp and a small alarm clock.
