Installation

New Functions

 RecurDyn Network Server Version

If Administrator installs the RecurDyn Network Server version in the server computer and distribute the RecurDynNetworkClient.bat file to client, that you can run RecurDyn by using above batch file in their local computer without installing RecurDyn. To see more details, refer to Installation Guide.

Fixed Problems

 When you opened the file saved after the batch simulation, the RPLT file was not imported automatically in Plot.

 When you imported the text file in Plot, RecurDyn was crashed if the text header column was greater than the data column.

 The Japanese x_t file was not imported or exported after the execution of ProcessNet.

 The Japanese characters were not correctly displayed in the Plot database windows.

RecurDyn/ProcessNet

Fixed Problems

 RecurDyn was crashed when you used the

IModelDocument.ChangeDataStorage() function in your ProcessNet codes.  When you made MTT2D Sheet Group with ProcessNet, the thickness was

incorrect.

 When the model was saved after you set the UseMotion flag of Joint, you did not open it.

 When Solid Contact was set by it with ProcessNet after you made the Boolean geometry, the position of geometry was displayed incorrectly.  When you used multiple panes of Plot with ProcessNet after the chart was

clear, they did not displayed.

 The IPlotDocument.ExportData function was used in the data of FullName which did not contain the root string.

 Batch Option related to Solver Settings

The batch otion related to Solver Settings is added as follow.  SOLVERCLASS [IF/CF]

 SOLVERTYPE [DLL/EXE]

 NTHREAD [the number in the range of 0 to 4]

Fixed Problems

 When the value of Maximum Stiction Deformation on the Characteristic property of contact was saved, the value was saved a different value, not the desired value.

 When the Properties page of Cam2D Contact which was used the simple edge line was opened, RecurDyn was crashed.

 When the node marker was used as the base/reference marker in the Displacement or Velocity or Acceleration type of RFLEX Request, it was calculated as the rigid marker.

RecurDyn/ProcessNet

Fixed Problems

 The ProcessNet function could not be used after the invalid dll was used in the Run ProcessNet dialog box.

RecurDyn/CoLink

Fixed Problem

 When a CoLink model was in the folder which is written by many languages, the simulation was not performed.

RecurDyn/RFlex

Fixed Problem

 When the name of RFI file or the path of RFI file had spaces, the simulation was not performed.

 When the node included an element in Ansys was more than 200, the body shape of RFlex in the modeler was wrong.

RecurDyn/Control

Upgraded Functions

 MATLAB 7.9.0(R2009b) Support

MATLAB 7.9.0(R2009b) is supported for the co-simulation with Simulink.

RecurDyn/Crank

Upgraded Functions

 Use Amalgamation Option

You can make more correct surfaces for given points, if you set Use Amalgamation Option which integrates the knot vector of curve as following recommendations.

 If the number of points is large, check Use Amalgamation Option.  If the number of points is small, uncheck Use Amalgamation Option.

RecurDyn/MTT3D

Fixed Problems

 The location of Movable Roller was returned to the state which was before extracting after using the Extract function.

New Functions

 Symmetric Multi Processing Module

 The Symmetric Multi Processing (SMP) module is used in the IF solver. So, RecurDyn supports the Parallel Processing in the Shared Memory system.

 The Parallel Processing in the IF solver supports the FFlex toolkit, the Belt toolkit, the Chain toolkit, the Track HM/LM toolkit, the MTT3D toolkit.

 You can use four threads by a solver license.

 The SMP analysis method is to analyze the memory separetely when more than two computers exist in the same computer. It is different from the parallel treat in the Distributed Memory system.

 Initial Velocity of Solver Settings in Program Settings You can impose initial velocities of joints relatively or absolutely.  Exporting the RAN File(Solver-Generated Animation)

You can export the RAN file in the advanced tab of each Anaysis dialog box.

 Cone To Cylinder Contact

You can use Cone To Cylinder Contact.

 Add to Database in Data Analysis of Plot

You can use the Add to Database function in Data Analysis of Plot.  Draw Multi Curves

You can draw curves of multiple items using the Draw dialog box.

Upgraded Functions

 Solver Type of Solver Settings in Program Settings

You can select Solver Type as IF Type or CF Type in Solver Settings of Program Settings.

 The CF solver is the preexistence solver and keeps the preexistence values.

 The IF solver is the new solver and supports the multi-core thread.  IF Type of FFlex Options in Model Settings

The IF Type of linear solver was added in FFlex Options of Model Settings.  Interpolation Type of Curve in Joint and Contact

The curve for Interpolation in PTCV and CVCV, the curve for Interpolation in Cam2D Contact and Cam2DLine Contact have the Cubic function and

the 5th polynomial function.

 Curve(non-uniform) : New Function  Poly5(non-uniform) : New Function

 Curve(uniform) : Preexistence Function( V7R3’s Interpolation Method)  Poly5(uniform) : Preexistence Function( V7R3’s Interpolation Method) * Uniform is that the length of curve segments are same.

* Non-uniform is that the length of curve segments are different.  Display of Contact Entities in the Database Window

You can change entities’ name and edit entities by selecting the displayed contact entities in the Database Window.

 Multiple Inactivation in the Database Window

You can select the Inactive menu by multi-selecting for entities supported the inactive function.

 Inactive Flag in Request

Inactive Flag in Request allows using the Inactive menu in the Database Window.

 Drag and Drop for the Creation of a Joint or Force

You can select a desired item by drag and drop from the Database window to the Modeling Command Input Toolbar when a joint or force is created.  Toolkit Configuration Tool

 RecurDyn checks the specified toolkit license at the startup of RecurDyn.

 TktCfg.exe generates the SetToolkitConf.bat file when using the /BATCH option.

 SetToolkitConf.bat contains the current configuration and other samples how to use TktCfg.exe.

 SetToolkitConf.bat is used in the RecurDyn Network Server version.  Importing or Exporting the desired data of Custom View

You can import or export the desired custom view data using the Import button or Export button.

 Objects’ automatic movement in Advanced of Object Control You can translate or rotate or align objects automatically in Advanced of Object Control.

Changed Functions

 Focus on Memory in the IF solver

In the IF solver, the Focus on Memory option of FFlex Options( in the Model Settings) did not support in Shell3, Solid4 and Solid10 elements. In these elements, the option made the slow preprocessing and did not give the good handling memory.

 Auto Fit after drawing curve

The default value of “Auto Fit after drawing curve” in Tools of Draw Options changed to “False”

Fixed Problems

 When Match Solving Stepsize with Report Step was used in the Parameter tab of the Dynamic/Kinematic dialog box, the report step size rounded off the numbers to three demical places. For example, if you use Match Stepsize with Report Stepsize with Report Step, End Time was 1.0 and Step was 60 in the Dynamic Analysis dialog box, the simulation result was outputted in the 0.0, 0.017, 0.033 seconds in V7R3. But, it is outputted in 0.0, 0.01666…,0.0333… seconds in V7R4.

RecurDyn/ProcessNet

New Functions

 Camera Control  Data analysis in Plot

 Animation start/pause/stop function for ProcessNet windows form dialog.

 Analaysis start/pause/resume/stop function for ProcessNet windows form dialog

Upgraded Functions

 Multiple DLL’s

You can use multiple dll’s in the Run ProcessNet dialog box.

RecurDyn/CoLink

New Functions

 Exporting and Importing a CoLink Block You can export and import a CoLink block.  PreEvent & PostEvent

Pre Event & Post Event was developed. They are written by Ch Script.  PreEvent is performed once before simulation and it is made by Ch

Script. When you use PreEvent by Ch Script, global variables can be use parameters in the bock of CoLink model.

 Ch Function Block

The Ch Function block in the User Function library was added. You can input desired codes by Ch script of this block.

 GUI of CoLink

New GUI Changed Name of GUI

Select All Foreground Color → Line Color

Rotate 90 degrees Background Color → Block Color

Font Bilateral Symmetry → Flip Horizontal

Show/Hide Block Name Up and down Symmetry → Flip Vertical Show/Hide Drop Shadow Orthogonal Rotation → Rotate -90 degrees Pre/Post Event

 Reference Frame for Stress and Strain Results using the FFlex Scope

You can define a reference frame for stress and strain results using the FFlex Scope. The FFlex Scope located in the property of FFlex body dialog box.

 Selection methods for Patch Set

You can make the patch set with following methods.  Method of continuous surface

In order to help user’s understand for RFlex, an example is provided. (It is in the Tutorials page of RecurDyn.)

 Supported Units

Following units are supported for the RFlex Interface.

 Mass (5): Miligram, Microgram, Nanogram, US ton, Slinch  Length (5): Nanometer, Angstrom, Yard, Mil, Microinch  Time (3): Nanosecond, Microsecond, Day

 Force (5): Centinewton, Milinewton, Micronewton, Nanonewton, Poundal

 Exported Contour Data in Contour Dialog

The effect of Reference Node was considered to the only Displacement type when the contour data was exported in RFlex Contour.

 ANSYS Interface

The interface function for ANSYS is supported up to version 12.  NX IDEAS Interface

The interface function for IDEAS is supported up to NX IDEAS version 6.  MSC/Nastran Interface

The Interface function for MSC/Nastran is supported from version 2005R1 to 2007R1.

Changed Functions

 Deformation in Contour Dialog

A term, “Displacement” is used instead of “Deformation” in Contour Dialog. Fixed Problems

Modal coordinate (Q), Modal velocity (DQ) and Modal acceleration

(DDQ) are defined as non-dimensional variables, but these values

were scaled by 1/sqrt(ucf_mass)/ucf_length until V7R3. The

ucf_mass and the ucf_length were the unit conversion factor of

mass and length from RFI to Modeler defined the unit, respectively.

New Functions

 Asperity Contact Model

The asperity contact force model was added to consider the effects of the roughness on the lubrication surfaces.

 Pressure-viscosity Function

The dynamic (absolute) viscocity can be modeled as a function of the pressure by using the pressure-viscoscity coefficient.

Upgraded Functions

 Post-processing for the Film Thickness and Pressure

The useful post–processing functions for the film thickness and pressure are supported.

RecurDyn/Control

Upgraded Functions

Create Output Folder and Output File Name

The Create output folder function was added in Simulink Host Mode

and Output file name is applied in Simulink Host Mode.

RecurDyn/Belt

Upgraded Functions

 Speed Sensor

The Speed Sensor function was added. You can measure the speed for the nearest belt segment or belt element in the range of Speed Sensor by this function.

RecurDyn/MTT2D

New Functions

 Align Guide Orientation

The Align Guide Orientation function was developed. You can decide the contact direction at once for current guides.
