WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

www.baplayers.com

(37)

ACTIVITY 1:

PART 1:

Photocopy (and enlarge) the picture of the jungle/wind/sun/tree/river and fruit. Teach or revise the words and stick them onto the walls separate from one another in your classroom. Tell students to get their pointing fingers ready (or their noses for a change!)

Play the song: Welcome to the jungle and encourage students to point to the different pictures as they appear in the song.

PART 2:

Tell the students you will sing part of the song and they have to help you complete what’s missing by pointing to the right picture. As you sing or say each part, do mimics of the full action. You can also play the song and pause it just before the key word. If you play the

audio file, do the mimics as well to get across the meaning of the full sentence. E.g.:

1. Welcome to the... 2. Let’s run with the …... 3. Let’s play with the …... 4. Let’s climb up a …... 5. Come swim in our …... 6. And eat some fresh …...

PART 3:

Divide your class in 6 groups. Give each group a flashcard with one of the key words. Again either sing or play the part of the song. This time, the corresponding team has to

stand up and call out their word.

PART 4:

FOR FUN! This time just play the full song and encourage the students to join in with the key phrases you have been practicing.

Booking

To book your seats please contact your local sales representative or our main office. It is important to take into account that theatres have a limited seating capacity; your seats are guaranteed only if you buy your tickets in advance. In most cities we also offer early-bird discounts. When contacting your local sales representative please have the following data at hand: the plays you wish to attend, the number of seats you are booking for both students and teachers.

It is necessary to leave the phone number and e-mail of the person in charge of the outing. USEFUL TIPS AND INFORMATION

Tickets

Collect the money for the tickets from the children well in advance. Our experience has shown that some children forget to bring the money and the authorizations on the day of the outing. To

avoid this we recommend using deadlines.

1 teacher/adult free every 10 students.

Arrival time

We suggest arriving between 15 and 25 minutes before starting time to allow enough time for parking, lining up and so on. A maximum tolerance of 10 minutes may be granted if the rest of the audience agrees to wait. As you may share the venue with different schools, it is important to

start our shows on time. Length of the plays

Between 50 and 60 minutes, depending on the play BAP AT YOUR SCHOOL

Transforming your school into a magical stage

“At Your School” is a simple, affordable, safe and smart way of making the most of a unique educational experience without taking the students out of school.

Each play has been specially adapted for alternative stage areas like multi-purpose rooms, halls, gymnasiums, auditoriums, etc. No special requirements are needed, except for enough room
