Enstratius’ multi-cloud architecture delivers:

Enstratius™ is a cloud infrastructure management solution for deploying and managing

enterprise-class applications in public, private and hybrid clouds. For the enterprise, managing

multiple teams delivering tens or hundreds of applications to the cloud requires consistent

governance and automation, as well as the independence to choose the clouds and operations

tools that meet business needs.

Governance

Maintaining control over your systems is crucial to reducing risk. Enstratius provides tight access controls including encryption, advanced user authentication and budget management. This enables you to provide only the right people the right level of access to your cloud environment.

Automation

Enstratius helps you meet the economic and operational advantages of cloud computing through a variety of automation tools including auto-provisioning, auto-scaling, automated backups, recovery, cross-cloud bursting and more. This provides consistency across all cross-clouds and enables organizations to improve service levels.

Independence

With support for all leading public and private clouds, plus access to leading configuration management tools, Enstratius offers a unified management solution you can use for a single or multi-cloud environment. This provides increased efficiency and allows you the freedom to choose the cloud services that work best for your organization.

Enstratius also provides a REST-based API to enable you to extend your IT policies and procedures into the cloud. Integrate into LDAP/AD, billing systems, monitoring systems and more.

GOVERNANCE

Enstratius operates outside of each cloud provider without any operational elements in any cloud. Using access controls, encryption and proper key management provided with Enstratius, you can construct a cloud-based infrastructure that will tolerate failures at multiple levels without damaging the integrity of your data.

Enstratius helps you meet your cloud governance needs with a unified management solution that

leverages your internal management systems.

These are some of the governance issues that Enstratius resolves:

access Controls – Limit access for internal or external teams to

specific resources within one or more clouds. Our flexible role-based security allows you to allocate specific levels of access to development, QA and other teams. Integrate into your LDAP/AD deployment to extend your internal policies into your clouds.

Financial Controls – Track and limit spending by project code,

customer or department. Each time a new resource is provisioned across your clouds, Enstratius will track the cost and limit the spending, per your specific budget requirements.

Key Management and encryption - Our patent-pending security

architecture enforces a separation of roles. Enstratius, running outside the cloud, is the guardian of your security keys and credentials, but has no access to your data. Your cloud provider has your encrypted data, but not the encryption keys.

logging and auditing – Enstratius logs all activity across your clouds.

Track activity by user through reports or by integrating monitoring and management systems.

api integration – Leverage your internal management systems by

integrating with the Enstratius REST-based API.

AUTOMATION

Enstratius meets the automation demands of enterprise applications by providing a single model to

describe the application architecture and the policies that maintain how the application responds to its

environment. This model is then applied consistently across the many clouds supported by Enstratius,

without requiring custom development for each cloud used.

Enstratius applies automation across a variety of enterprise operations tasks:

The real value of automating applications independent of the services they reside in, is the flexibility it provides the operations team as the cloud marketplace changes. Enstratius automation removes issues of cloud service “lock-in”, while providing value-added features that ensure your application is as agile and resilient as possible.

auto-provisioning - Define application deployment architectures

quickly and intuitively—then let Enstratius handle deployment to one or more clouds of your choice. Enstratius integrates with existing application deployment processes and tools, including Chef and Puppet.

auto-scaling - Create scaling policies around the data you wish to

measure, such as transaction rates, page load times, etc. Then, use these policies in the cloud services and/or regions that make the most sense for your application. You can maintain automation for your applications from a single platform and console.

automated recovery - Restart failed components of your applications

automatically based on policies you set. Enstratius has built-in disaster recovery to restore data from your last backup, in case of a catastrophic system failure.

automated Backups - Snapshots of images and data are captured on

a user-defined schedule. You can place snapshots in supported third party cloud storage services for increased disaster avoidance. And, snapshots can be encrypted for increased security.

smart Cloud Topology – Enstratius automatically distributes

INDEPENDENCE

Enstratius™ solves these issues by providing cloud independence for your deployments. The Enstratius

platform provides an abstraction layer that integrates into the different cloud services, allows cross cloud

application portfolio management, and enables backup and disaster recovery operations across cloud

services. With Enstratius, customers can leverage all features of each cloud provider that Enstratius

connects to -- not only the common features across cloud providers.

risk Mitigation - Enstratius mitigates the risks that using a single

cloud provider can represent and offers flexibility as the cloud service provider market develops and matures. To reduce risk, we provide cloud-independent backups as well as cross-cloud disaster recovery.

Business Continuity planning - Enstratius supports all major cloud

providers. To ensure business continuity, customers can automatically store backups in one or more cloud providers.

Multi-cloud support - Enstratius provides the cloud orchestration you

require to leverage the strengths of all the leading cloud platforms. Enstratius supports all leading public and private clouds.

Multi-tool support - Enstratius supports leading configuration

management solutions, including Chef and Puppet, as well as platform as a service solutions, such as Cloud Foundry. Enstratius allows you to take action on data from a variety of sources, including monitoring tools and server agents. You can also integrate application operations lifecycle tools, such as continuous deployment, testing, billing and CMDB.

Enstratius™ is a cloud infrastructure management solution for deploying and managing enterprise-class applications in public, private and hybrid clouds. Where cloud services software (i.e.

Eucalyptus, Joyent and Citrix CloudStack) target the delivery of cloud as a service, Enstratius is focused on the consumption of one or more cloud services from a single, consistent management platform. Think of Enstratius as the enterprise console to the world of cloud computing.

For the enterprise, managing multiple teams delivering tens or hundreds of applications to the cloud requires consistent governance and automation, as well as the independence to choose the clouds and operations tools that meet business needs.

Enstratius enables developers and application operators to choose the configuration management, monitoring and other operation tools that make the most sense for each application.
