Graduates of a 3-year diploma program, with a B+ average, will be considered for admission and possible advanced standing. The amount of credit that may be transferred is program specific. Graduates with a GPA of less than 3.3 will be assessed on an individual basis.

Students may be awarded up to 72 credits.

Students applying to the Telfer School of Management can receive up to 30 credits in advanced standing after completing a 2-year program in a business-related field, or up to 60 credits after completing a 3-year program. In addition to meeting the general admission requirements, applicants must meet the specific prerequisite requirements of their chosen program.

If you have already received a diploma from a recognized college, you may be able to match this to a Post-Diploma Degree program at the University of Lethbridge.

Once admitted to the University of Lethbridge, you will need to complete about 20 semester courses, depending on the particular program, in order to satisfy degree requirements. Admission requirements reflect current policies, and are subject to change.

Students are required to complete an additional 60 credits after completion of an approved 2-year diploma.

Bachelor of Administration: Graduates of a 3-year Business Administration diploma program with an average of 70% or a 3.0 GPA in business courses will be considered for admission into the final year of the 3-year Bachelor of Administration program. Graduates of specific majors will have a specific transfer program to follow and will not be required to make up any courses prior to the start of the program. This program can be completed within 8 months. Honours Bachelor of Commerce: Graduates from a six semester (three-year) Business Administration college program with a minimum B+, 3.3 GPA or 75% cumulative average in Business courses will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program. In most cases, where make-up courses are not required, it is possible to complete the Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree requirements in two full academic years. To be considered for the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program, applicants must have the specific courses in their background.

Must complete a prescribed 20 half-credit course equivalent program (3 credits) at U of C. Have a passing grade (50%) in University entrance level – English OAC or English 4U and Alg/Geom OAC, or Math 4A and Finite Math OAC, or Geometry and Discrete Math MGA4U or Advanced Functions and Intro Calculus MCB4U. Have successfully completed an economics course – Algonquin’s ECO 2305 (Introduction to Microeconomics) OR ECO 2306 (Macroeconomics) OR HOS 5069 (Principles of Convention and Meeting Planning) course is acceptable and possibly other economics as well.

Graduates from the 2-year Hotel and Restaurant Management Diploma program with a minimum grade point average of 3.3 (B+ or cumulative/overall average of 77-79%) to be considered for admission to the Hotel and Food Administration major of the Bachelor of Commerce program with 8.0 advanced standing credits. Applicants are required to have completed Ontario credits in Grade 12U (4U) Advanced Functions (previously it was any Grade 12U Math) and Grade 12U (4U) English or their equivalent. Interested students should contact the Bachelor of Commerce program counsellor to confirm admission requirements. The estimated duration to complete the B.Comm HAFA degree would take 2.5 years of full-time study (2 semesters per year).

Graduates from the 2-year Hotel and Restaurant Management Diploma program will get advanced standing of 60 credits. Degree completion requirements include an additional 60 credits and completion of a 9 credit internship or co-operative work experience.

Block transfer of 60 credits. Graduates must have completed their diploma with an average of B+ (Cumulative GPA of 3.3). Students normally complete the residual 60 credits in 4 semesters or 2 years (all programs are 120 credits). Block transfer credit given in the amount of 45 credits with the successful completion of a 2-year Journalism Diploma and a GPA of ‘B’ or better in the last year of program and meet the admission requirements.

To obtain the Honours Bachelor’s degree in Journalism you must complete 75 specified credits at the university (5 semesters). A minimum average of 70% is required, but simply achieving this grade does not guarantee admission. In addition to meeting the general admission requirements, applicants must meet the specific prerequisite requirements of the program.

Students applying to the University of Southern Queensland and meeting eligibility requirements will be granted 8 courses for credit and will be required to complete an additional 16 courses for the Bachelor of Communication. Graduates with a minimum 75% grade average are eligible to receive 6 transfer credit towards a 20 credit program.
