Volunteer Travel

As the world becomes increasingly connected, responsible global citizenship looks different

than before. Technology puts suffering and hardships on our screens and in our pockets.

Excuses are no longer valid.

!

In a world ripe with needs, we believe in the power of volunteers - regular people dedicating

their time, resources, and skills for a cause. And we are not alone. There are over a million

annual volunteer travelers in the U.S., and the number is growing.

!

We want to reward you for your service. Volunteer travel should be as easy, safe, and

inexpensive as possible so that more volunteers can do more good.

!

Vision

To become the premier membership for volunteer travelers across the globe by offering

indispensable service, travel protection, discounts, and assistance.

!

Experience

Everyone on the Volunteer Card team has personal experience in overseas humanitarian work,

having served in over 50 countries combined. We are uniquely positioned to serve the

humanitarian community because we are committed and involved ourselves.

!

Strength

Our parent companies handle close to 100,000 travelers annually with $85 million in annual

sales.

Together we have grown and operated without debt for over 25 years.

!

Philosophy

We are social capitalists with a triple bottom line: fiscal, social, and environmental. We donate a

significant portion of our proceeds to humanitarian projects, particularly in Southeast Asia

through the nonprofit 501(c)(3), Venture Expeditions.

1 Volunteer Card = 1 Meal for Someone in Need

!

The movement toward social and environmental change is growing. More and more people

want to rally behind a cause they believe in, and we want to help.

!

Sure, Volunteer Card gets you travel protection in addition to sweet discounts from select

partners, but it also allows you to give back.

!

We’ve partnered with Venture Expeditions and Feed My Starving Children to provide a hot

meal for someone in need with every card purchased.

Travel Protection

!

The primary benefit of the Volunteer Card is travel protection. Traveling abroad to volunteer

can be expensive and dangerous; we want to make the trip as safe and worry-free as possible.

!

Our travel protection is designed by Travelex Insurance Services, Inc. Travelex Insurance is

one of the major travel insurance providers in the USA. Volunteer Card members can choose

from one of three different plans to best suit their needs.

Our online group tool makes it easy to purchase multiple cards at a discounted price ($1 off

per card). Group members are automatically approved because the organization is purchasing

for the volunteers. All cards ordered using the group tool are mailed to the organization

directly.

!

Not to worry, however. If you would like the cards mailed to separate addresses, we’ll email

you an order form that allows you to load the volunteers’ contact information. Just complete

the order form and return it via email.

I've used the online order form multiple times, and it’s worked quite

efficiently.

THEY WERE PHENOMENAL!! I They stayed in contact with Hospital Langkawi the entire

time that I was in the hospital and were in communication with the doctors. Also, they paid to

upgrade both Aly and I to business class on our return trip. When I returned I had several

emails and a phone call asking how I was and making sure that we made it back.

I highly

recommend them!!

I think that [Volunteer Card] is doing a really good job - good enough that I renewed my

membership this year.

I had to use the insurance when I had a delay in Syria and they were great to work with. One

of my teammates lost her luggage on the way there and the folks were very helpful in getting

her baggage and paying for her to get some clothes.

My experience with Volunteer Card is that their customer service is fast and dependable.
