These sheets were created to help you learn all about your technology and the different

programs you will be using in the middle

school.

Logging into Google Chrome

1. Open Google Chrome

2. Click “Sign in” in the top right corner

3. Enter your email address - [email protected]

4. Enter your password (0_____) Make sure you include the 0 in front of your normal

password.Click next.

5. Now you will have access to all of your bookmarks and Google files.

Email Access

1. Open Google Chrome

2. In the address bar type www.office365.com

3. Click “Sign in” in the top right corner

4. Type in your email [email protected] then click next.

5. Type in your password - this is the same as your computer password, then click next. IT MAY NOT ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD AND JUST TAKE YOU TO THE HOME SCREEN.

6. Click on “Outlook”

***You should check your email EVERYDAY!

How to Send an Email

1. Go to Outlook (refer to the “Email” tech sheet to get here)

2. Click on “New Message” in the top left corner.

3. Type in the person’s name who you are emailing in the “To” section

4. Type in the subject of your email - this should only be a couple of words (homework, question, iReady, etc.)

5. Type your email using proper conventions and grammar. Remember, you should email the same way you would speak to your teacher.

How to Access Blackboard

1. Open Google Chrome 2. Go to www.bloomsd.org

3. Click “Select a School” in the top right corner and click “Bloomsburg Area Middle School”

4. Click on “6th Grade Academy”

7. Enter your username and password, which is

the same as when you login to the computer. Click

“Sign In”

8. You now have access to Blackboard and all of your courses.

Blackboard Collaborate

1. Login to Blackboard (Refer to “How to Access Blackboard” tech sheet)

2. Select the course you have the video

conference in (Math, ELA, World Geo., etc)

3. On the left panel, click on “Join Session”

under Blackboard Collaborate

4. Select either “Course Room” or the specific session depending on what your teacher told you to do!

If your teacher creates another session, it will appear in this drop down.

Blackboard Discussion Posts

1. Go to Blackboard and login (Refer to “How to Access Blackboard” tech sheet)

2. Select your course

3. Click on the discussion post - look for the discussion post symbol

4. Type your response in the provided box and click “Respond”

Assignment on Blackboard

1. Open Google Chrome

2. Login to Blackboard (Refer to “How to Access Blackboard” tech sheet)

3. Click on the course where the assignment is located

4. Click on the assignment and a new screen will appear that looks similar to this:

5. Click on “View Assessment”

6. Click “Add Content”

7. Click on the plus sign in the top right corner of the task bar and select “Insert from Cloud

Storage”

9. Name your file as described in the assignment and click “Save”

10. Click “Submit” in bottom right corner

Now your assignment has been submitted and is ready to be graded.

Drive File Stream

1. Double click on “Google Drive File Stream” on your desktop.

2. Double click on “My Drive”

3. Every document in your Google Drive will appear here. You can double click on the file and open it.

***If you made it available offline (see “Making a Google Doc or Slide Available Offline” tech sheet), then you will be able to open the file and work on it without internet.

1. Open Google Chrome

2. Make sure you are logged into Google Chrome (refer to “Logging In To Google Chrome” tech sheet)

3. Click on the “waffle” in the top right corner and select “Drive”

5. Open the file you want to make available offline.

6. Click on “File” and select “Make available offline”

7. To access this document offline, use Drive File

Stream from your desktop. It will automatically save your work to your computer.

8. Open the file the next time you connect to the internet and it will automatically update in Google Drive.

How to Create a Google Doc

1. Open Google Chrome

2. Make sure you are signed in! Your first initial should be in the top right corner in the circle.

3. Click on the waffle and select “Docs”

4. Click on “Blank” to open a new document.

5. Click where it says “Untitled document” in the top left corner to rename your document.

1. Open Google Chrome

2. Make sure you are signed in! Your first initial should be in the top right corner in the circle.

3. Click on the waffle and select “Slides”

4. Click on “Blank” to open a new document.

5. Click where it says “Untitled presentation” in the top left corner to rename your Google Slide.

How to Access OneNote

1. Click on the OneNote Icon on the task bar at the bottom of your screen.

***If it is not there, type “OneNote for Windows 10” in the search bar.

2. Click on the down arrow to display your notebooks.

4. Click on the Notebook you want to open. If you don’t see your notebook, click “More Notebooks”

and it should be there.

5. Click on your name in the left task bar to

access all of your individual copies that you can edit. If you can NOT edit, you are not in the section under your name.

How to Copy from the

Content Library in OneNote

1. Open your OneNote notebook and make sure you are in the correct notebook for that class (refer to “How to Access OneNote” tech

sheet.

2. Click on “Content Library” on the left hand panel.

3. Right click on the title of the page you want to copy and click “Move/Copy”

4. Click on the section you want to move the page and click “Copy”

5. You now have access to this page and can edit it in the sections under your name.

How to Access iReady

1. Open Google Chrome

2. Type “login.i-ready.com” in the web address bar.

3. Type in your username and password to login.

Remember, this is the same as logging onto

your computer. Select “Pennsylvania” and click

“Go”

1. Open Google Chrome

2. In the address bar type www.pantherlibrary.com

3. Click on “Book Selection”

** You can use the search feature in the top right corner or explore all the books if you browse the home page or click “All Resources.”

1. Click on the notifications button in the bottom right corner of your screen.

2. A task bar will appear on the right. If “Tablet mode” is highlighted in red, left click to make it gray and your computer will return to laptop mode.

***If you don’t see the tablet mode button, click expand and the tablet mode button should

What do I do if my keyboard stops working?

● If your keyboard is not working, this typically means your screen is leaning to far backwards and your computer is registering in tablet

mode.

● Either refer to the “How to Exit Tablet Mode on Your Computer” tech sheet OR tilt your

screen forward until your keyboard registers and begins to work again.

What do I do if my audio isn’t working?

● Click on the audio button in the bottom right hand of your screen and make sure it is not muted. If it is muted there will be an “x”

● Restart your computer
