Electrical Engineering
What is it?
Electrical engineering deals with the design, manufacture, and operation of the range of devices and systems that depend on electricity – from wireless telepho nes to giant power generators. You examine superconductors, wave propagation, energy storage, fiber optics, reception, and amplification, from both a theoretical and an applied perspective.
Is it for you?
You might like this major if you also like: tinkering (putting things together, taking them apart, making them work); music; ham radio; computers. Consider this major if you are good at: attention to detail; creativity; math; organizing; quantitative analysis; special thinking/analysis; teamwork; visualization…or have… initiative; writing skills.
