The Callaghan campus has state of the art libraries and award winning Student Hubs. Hi-tech information commons give students a great place to meet, socialise and access a range of services. These include wireless and laptop facilities, PCs and Macs, scanners, printing and copy facilities, and laptop borrowing. There’s a fantastic sporting facility – The Forum – that offers loads of services including a gym and Olympic standard indoor pool. The university works hard to enhance student life, organising fun social and cultural events, regular lunchtime concerts and markets.
The University of Newcastle Legal Centre
The University of Newcastle Legal Centre (UNLC) is where legal clinic courses are delivered and students gain practical experience working with real clients. We value community engagement and offer a range of services to members of the public, including free legal services, law clinics and seminars. It’s a convenient facility for those who live and work in the city, and has an information common and library facilities that are open to all students of the University of Newcastle.

Legend/Key
Semester:
A Semester is 13 weeks in duration. There are two semesters per academic year, generally commencing late February and July.
Trimester:
A Trimester runs for 12 weeks and there are three trimesters per academic year, commencing late January, May and September.
Unit:
Courses are comprised of units. One course typically equals 10 units, for example a Master of Laws consists of 8 courses or 80 units. Master: A Master program consists of a minimum of 80 units. Graduate Certificate: Graduate Certificate programs consist of 40 units. Duration: Program duration is the minimum time required to complete the program and refers to full-time study unless otherwise indicated. Full time study consists of 3-4 courses per trimester or semester.

Flexible Learning
We give you options. Study 100% online or face-to-face, or a combination of both in multiple locations. Professional Credit
Do you have qualifications or experience beyond the minimum entry requirements for a Masters Degree? If so, you may be able to complete your degree in reduced time and at reduced cost.
The Newcastle Business School will consider your relevant professional experience and you could reduce your study by up to a third! Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may result in credit granted for up to four courses.
RPL may be granted to you when you demonstrate competencies aligned to the learning outcomes of selected courses. You can do this as part of your application by providing a statement and supporting documentation outlining relevant business or organisational experience.

Program Fees
You only pay for courses as you attempt them. Unlike other institutions, we don’t demand a big up-front financial commitment that covers an entire program.
Fees differ from program to program, and individual courses can vary too, so please check gradschool.edu. au for fee information.
Prescribed course text and course materials (for example course notes if applicable) are included in your course fees for online programs.

Domestic FEE-HELP
Loan Scheme
Eligible domestic students can apply for an interest-free loan from the Australian Government through the FEE-HELP Loan Scheme (previously known as the Postgraduate Education Loans Scheme) to cover the cost of tuition fees. FEE-HELP does not cover accommodation and general living expenses.
To be eligible for FEE-HELP, you must be: • An Australian Citizen (who will be residing in
Australia for at least the study period for one unit of study within that program); or
• The holder of a permanent humanitarian visa who will be resident in Australia for the duration of the unit.
New Zealand citizens and Australian Permanent Residents are not eligible for FEE-HELP. Non-Award courses are not eligible for FEE-HELP.

The Co-operative Management and Organisation program at the University of Newcastle has been designed to offer extended education to co-operatives professionals enhancing career opportunities in this field.

Admission Criteria
Admission to the Graduate Certificate in Co-operatives Management and Organisation program is available to applicants who can demonstrate between 1-5 years relevant experience, coupled with previous non-university studies.
Master Admission Criteria
Direct entry into the Masters Program (12 courses) will be available for applicants who have:
• 3 year Bachelor Degree (in a related field of study); or
• 3 year Bachelor Degree (in a non-related field of study) and 1 year of relevant industry experience; or • At least 7 years of industry
experience (including 2 years in a management position).
