NUMBERS

Checking accounts: Most checking accounts will continue to have the same account

number. If your account number will change, you’ll receive separate notification

Savings, Money Market accounts, CDs, Retirement Accounts, Loans and Lines of Credit

and Mortgages: New account numbers will be mailed to you. You may also use the

account number look-up tool at mtb.com/provident after the conversion date

USING YOUR

CHECKS

Checking, Savings and Money Market accounts: You can use your current supply of

checks and deposit slips. The next time you reorder checks through M&T, your new supply will be printed with the M&T logo and routing and transit number. If you currently have checks for your account and your account number is changing, we will send a new supply of checks to you

Health Savings accounts (HSAs): If you currently have checks for your HSA, we will send

a new supply of checks to you

Personal Lines of Credit and Home Equity Lines of Credit: You’ll receive new M&T

checks, printed with your new account number, shortly after conversion. Please destroy your Provident checks and begin to use these as soon as they arrive. Provident checks already written will be honored for a limited time

Replacement Card: If you use a Provident Bank debit card or ATM card today, you’ll be

mailed a similar type of card from M&T shortly before conversion. M&T Check Cards will carry the VISA®logo

GOOD NEWS: Same 4-digit PIN: You can continue to use the same Personal

Identification Number (PIN) with your new card. You will receive a separate mailing to remind you of your PIN.

New Card Number and Expiration Date: Your new number will appear on your new

M&T card

ACTION STEP: If you currently use your card for automatic deductions or recurring

payments to a third party (such as a health club or Internet service provider), please provide your new card number and expiration date to your payees to avoid interruption of your payments.

Activation: Please read the information accompanying your card about when to activate

and use your new card

STATEMENTS

Checking, Savings and Money Market Accounts:

I Two statements will be mailed to you during the month of conversion

• One from Provident Bank, covering the period from the last statement date to the conversion date, including transactions and any interest earned for the period • The second from M&T Bank, covering the period from the conversion date to your

next regular statement date

I Future statements from M&T will arrive on approximately the usual schedule

CD accounts:

I You will receive a final statement from Provident Bank as of the conversion date. CD interest will be accrued but not posted

I After conversion, statements will no longer be issued except when a CD is linked to a checking account or if your account is a CDARS CD; however, you will receive CD maturity notices

Retirement accounts:

I You will receive annual statements plus a supplemental statement for contributions made between January 1 and April 15 for the prior year

I A special conversion statement will not be sent

Combined Statements at M&T may include deposit accounts plus one line of credit account.

Loans, mortgages, investments and retirement accounts are not included

Electronic Statements: When you sign up for M&T Web Banking, you’ll have the option to

request free electronic statements for your M&T accounts

CHECK IMAGES

Check Images: If you currently receive your canceled checks or images of your canceled

checks, then images of your canceled checks will be included with your monthly checking statement at no charge. Check images will also be available online for your M&T transactions for up to three months and are available for checking, savings, and money market accounts. Canceled checks are not returned with statements

Check Safekeeping: If you now have this service, it will continue automatically at M&T and

M&T will retain copies of your paid checks

will generally continue to be linked as they are today. If you have both a savings or money market account and a line of credit account linked for overdraft protection, only the line of credit will continue to be linked

Certificates of Deposit (CDs)

REST EASY: The interest rate terms, maturity date and other features of your account will

remain the same until its first maturity date on or after the conversion date.

NOTES: At maturity, these accounts will be governed by the account terms and conditions of M&T Bank.

Plus, the grace period will be extended to ten days

M&T will report interest for tax purposes based on interest accrued through year-end regardless of

when interest is credited

If you have a CDARS CD that matures on or after the conversion date, it will NOT automatically renew at

maturity. At maturity, all funds in that account will be deposited into your CDARS settlement account and will remain in the settlement account until you take further action

If you have a Jumbo CD that matures on or after the conversion date, it will NOT automatically renew at

maturity. At maturity, the balance in the account will cease to earn interest and will remain in the account uninvested until you take further action

Scheduled distributions from your retirement plan will be made first from the deposit account in the plan that pays the lowest interest rate until all funds in that account have been distributed
