Résumé: The need in lifelong learning is increasingly in the field of medicine, regulary faced with the

problem of keeping up to date with knowledge in a rapid developing field, unpredictable schedules, differencies in the teaching styles, language, culture and medical legislation. *The project aimes to answer to the needs of medical staff in

improvement/updating/accesibility/equal chances to knowledge and harmonisation in training, by transfer of innovation from 2 previous LDVprojects, recte MEDITOP and PEDITOP (the HELSINKI AWARD, as one of the best projects in Europe). The main result of those projects was an e-learning environement for medical staff in pediatry. The transfer of innovation refers to the transfer of valorised results of previous LDV projects towards other geographical areas (new countries-RO, BG; new languages-RO,BG), within the same sector (health) but

expanding, disseminating and valorising the results, adding new target groups-residents, patients; new medical fields-ecography; patient culture; new results, new institutions). *The project objectives consist in developing of an e-learning health education center interprofessional in outlook; interdisciplinary in approach; intercultural in background;

interactive in design;international in scope aiming to increase knowledge of the participants by exchange of experience and good practice.

*There is a well established international partner and specialists balance (medical, educational technological) - 4 countries/t 6 partners. The consortium is formed by higher education institutions, university consortium, SME s experienced in education, medical services multimedia software, medical units with a a long standing reputation for providing student-centred, innovative programmes of health education and long lasting professional cooperation at international level.

*Outcomes: 1.Products (tangible): reports and comparative studies regarding the state of art and needs in medical educational field in participant countries; a complex Web site (English and partners languages); a virtual center including an interactive web based Lifelong learning platform (interactive training modules, a health cultural module, an evaluation and self assessment software, a glossary for medical terms; a module for tutor training); 2.

Methodologies: development of a quantified self assessment method -QA module; student-activated learning methods simulated and collaborative learning; 3.Other: proper recognition of competences in the framework of

Description: E-EDUMED (e-Learning Educational Center in Medicine) is a two year Transfer of Innovation European funded project aiming to answer to the needs of medical staff in

improvement/updating/accesibility/equal chances to knowledge and harmonisation in training of specialists in ultrasonography. The 2year e-EDUMED project will finish in January 2013. Together we aim to develop a complex Web site in English and partners languages and a virtual health educational center that will provide on-line education and training materials, by an interactive lifelong learning platform.

Description: he aim of these reports has a special value as needs analysis is essential for the

development of the e-EDUMED project and outcomes; the project is designed to provide solutions to clearly identified needs of the target groups. Needs assesment of the target group will foccus on specific issues (echograpy, nurses education) and must be carried on in order to transfer previous the results and integrate them in national and/or sectoral training systems. In this way the reports are essential in providing informations for decision makers and other key persons involved in e-learning medical education.

In this way the present research aims to:

Produit 'e-learning platform E-EDUMED'

Texte marketing: The online Platform is the essential vehicle for the delivery of the learning path. The core aim of the project is to deliver an innovative learning course to high qualified medical

doctors/nursing professional in order to cope with their learning needs. Through an attractive ICT environment, high level functionalities and innovative PBL methodology the target group will benefit from a very flexible larning system, high level didactic material as well as

interactive videos and Virtual classroom to discuss with peers, refresh competencies and exchange best practices/daily work-experience through virtual classroom.

Description: Claroline is the E-Learning platform that has been used for the delivery of the online courses and that hosts the PBL repository. The platform is suitable for the delivery of distance learning, in particular through Internet. The platform is distributed under the GPL license which is the standard licence for Open source software. The source code behind the platform has been completely available without any cost.

The platform has been written in the programming language PHP and stores data on the database management system MySQL. Both PHP and MySQL are open sources, free to download and are multi platform. Learning Management System is available in 40 languages. Problem Based Learning sessions have been developed and set up. Virtual rooms have been set up as well in different partner’s languages. The virtual PBL sessions are hosted in Adobe Connect, a very powerful system of videoconferencing. The web meeting area includes 3 main areas: Discussion, Collaboration and Sharing. This area will host all the case studies or scenarios developed by students as project work. This methodology/tool will be a gateway to access virtual conference rooms in the Adobe connect meeting. In order to summarize different tools have been developed to be used by learners in E-Edumed project.

Produit 'Ultrasound training package'

Texte marketing: This package was delivered for medical doctors and consists of interactive US courses included into e-EDUMED e-learning platform. The package was divided into subsequent 3 modules and is available in EN, RO, BG. For this package we provided the

curriculum/syllabus, schedule of courses and educational materials (WWW-based).

It offers up to date and accessible training for medical doctors by implementation of e-learning methods in ultrasound medical education, enhancing the attractiveness of training by

providing the target group with new ways of gaining knowledge (interactive multimedia presentations, virtual clasrooms).

Description: Includes 3 training modules included into the e-learning platform. Module I - THEORETICAL MODULE

Module II – GENERAL ABDOMINAL ULTRASOUND Module III—SPECIAL ULTRASOUND

The learning path included:

• asynchronous online courses - educational materials in a traditional style of presentation. Selected approach is based on a modular architecture focused on three levels (power point presentation, level text, image level. For the 3 modules we developed 26 topics/courses. For each course PPT and course notes in anatomy and ultrasound(text and images), questions and tests associated with each section were developed. 6 multimedia lessons that include sections with commented video images were created.

Content is structured in the best way to build gradual competences. The total material developed:

Anatomy text- 161 pages, US text -471 pages,PPT- slides 650, Quizzes- 150. Virtual classes-6 , Multimedia lessons-classes-6, size 1GB

synchronous online courses - courses implemented in the virtual class e EDUMED. Virtual classroom allows a tutor via the Internet to bring together a group of students in real time. The teacher can present materials (case studies, moving images, making complete ultrasound) and can receive information and feedback from students. PowerPoint presentations are also available. Schedule and topics courses were nnounced in advance and students can enroll. Teaching methodology used-PBL - Problem Based Learning

Texte marketing: The e-book Diagnostic ultrasound offers an introduction to the study of scanning planes and methods, pathology protocol for abdomen, pelvis, small parts, vasculature, heart, adressing to general physicians who are interested to gain or improve knowledge in ultrasound.

Description: There are 3 chapters and 21 topics.

Chapter I – “GENERAL ULTRASOUND- BASIS OF ULTRASOUND IMAGING” Chapter II - “GENERAL ABDOMINAL AND PELVIS ULTRASOUND”

Chapter III - “SPECIAL ULTRASOUND”

For every module of the ebook there are several links to corresponding documents, if they exist: Anato text, US Text, PPT, e-refferences. They are all in PDf format (even PPT presentations). The Multimedia Lessons are in HTML and flash format. A special chapter entitled e-refferences was developed, using internet resources, even that we are aware of the risk of this issue regarding the availability of the resources. For this reason we adviced the trainees to download the materials in which they are interested. Our partnership will try to update this refferences for as long as possible, in order to provide the trainee with the best free online resources.

The reason in developing this material was to offer an on-line resource for medical doctors that want to refresh their knowledge without following a typical course.

There are some chapters as a working demo (for guests), but the entire product can be consulted only after registration. When the unregistered user click on a free link, an embed PDF document will be open – Liver is free, for example. When the unregistered user click on a registered link he is redirected to log-in point.

In the embedded document we can navigate, zoom-in, zoom-out and open in new window the document. The module use Google viewer to view.

In level I settings, diagnostic ultrasound examinations are likely to be performed by a general physician using a general purpose ultrasound scanner. These physicians will be expected to perform safely and accurately a variety of examinations of all parts of the body.

Texte marketing: The present glossary was developed in the framework of E-EDUMED

LLP/LdV/TOI/RO/2010/006 and has been made specifically for educational purposes and personal development.

Description: The glossary was developed by Ecomedica and UCV, includes 331 specific terms of physics ultrasound, clinical useful words in description of US information, image characteristics related terminology and ultrasound equipment terminology. The definitions used in this glossary of terminology either have been provided by the authors of the US training module, or have been extracted wholly or in part, or paraphrased from the internet resources. The terms and definitions are provided in English. The glossary is available as free resource on the project web site. The module can link reference terms, user can easily navigate between them.

Ultrasound is one of the few clinical technologies where an understanding of the basic physics and operations helps the operator better interpret the informa¬tion gained. Medical doctors do not need a detailed description of ultrasound physics but do require a basic understanding of the technology to use it completely.

Produit 'Nurse training package'

Titre: Nurse training package Type de Produit: Enseignement à distance

Texte marketing: This package was delivered for nurses and consisted of interactive nurse courses included into e-EDUMED e-learning platform. The package was divided into subsequent 3 modules and is available in EN, RO, BG, HU.

The programme is designed to give nurses additional education in order to prepare them for advanced nursing practice and to respond to the actual demands in health care for the provision of primary health care to individuals, families but also to communities.

For this module we provided the curriculum/syllabus, schedule of courses and educational materials (WWW-based).

Description: Learning pathway has been realized through an innovative methodological model combining both theoretical and practical aspects, in order to enhance the learning skills based on the study of real cases thanks to the Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach implemented into a virtual environment (virtual classrooms). The learning path area is composed by 3 different modules, as foreseen by the didactic strategy.

This was achieved by uploading 3 educational modules for nurses on the e-learning platform, make available new on-line courses and case reports and supply trainees with all information by using agenda and announcements.

The developed modules are:

1.Didactic Module 1 “BASIC NURSE TRAINING” – transfered from MEDITOP

2. Didactic Module 2 “NEW SKILLS FOR NEW CHALLENGES- THE ROLE OF NURSE IN ULTRASONOGRAPHY” .

This module was developed by Ecomedica in close relationship with the curricule of the US module developed for medical doctors.

3. Didactic Module 3 “NEW SKILLS FOR NEW CHALLENGES- THE ROLE OF NURSE IN DECREASING MORBIDITY FACTORS-SMOKING

This last module was developed by INNOVAMED, as expressed by the great interest from the Hungarian Chamber of Health Workers.

Content is structured in the best way to build gradual competences. For each module we developed packages containing lecture notes, PPT and a system of evaluation and self-esteem of the results. Virtual classes were available for module 3.

All the materials were free to download.

Produit 'Patient training package'

Texte marketing: For many years, public health campaigns have attempted to motivate people to improve their health culture, to lead a healthy lifestyle and last but not least to convince them that

individuals are responsible for managing their own health. The role of economic, cultural, and social influences in preventing disease has become increasingly apparent. Preventing disease and promoting health culture improvement in the broadest possible ways requires attention to these important social and environmental factors.

High health culture of the individuals can markedly change the risk of disease. Patient’s health culture from the other side is key factor in terms of efficiency and successfulness of the healing and treatment processes.

Description: The Patient Educational package has to be considered as integral part of overall content developed under the e-EDUMED Project framework.

In order to ensure completeness and comprehensiveness of the information the learning content about ultrasound and smoking presented in the other modules of the project has to be presented in an appropriate way for the broad audience of the patients but covering the same scopes and following the same logical structure.

This is not an e-learning module, but its main aim is to promote the improvement of the health culture of the potential patients (in fact open public) by provision of informative digital

content, broadly accessible and easy understandable for broad audience of all patients, in close relation with the content provided by the medical modules developed in the project. The patient educational package is not included in the platform, it is available on the project web site with no registration required.

The package was divided into subsequent 3 modules. It is available in EN,RO, BG and HU. For this package we provided the main topics and educational materials (WWW-based). The total of developed materials included 216 slides in PPT.

Produit 'Topics for patient modules'

Texte marketing: The Patient Educational package has to be considered as integral part of overall content developed under the e-EDUMED Project framework.

Description: This is not an e-learning module, but its main aim is to promote the improvement of the health culture of the potential patients (in fact open public) by provision of informative digital

content, broadly accessible and easy understandable for broad audience of all patients, in close relation with the content provided by the medical modules developed in the project. The patient educational package is not included in the platform, it is available on the project web site with no registration required.

In order to ensure completeness and comprehensiveness of the information the learning content about ultrasound and smoking presented in the other modules of the project has to be presented in an appropriate way for the broad audience of the patients but covering the same scopes and following the same logical structure.

The package was divided into subsequent 4 modules. It is available in EN,RO, BG and HU. For this package we provided the main topics and educational materials (WWW-based). The total of developed materials included 216 slides in PPT.
