The reports provide examples of how the software can help document, deploy, review, and manage your strategic or business plan. Contents:

Business Fundamentals (pages 2-5)

Business Fundamentals document “what you do” not “what you want to do.” They are not intended to improve anything. They are intended to hold gains. Business Fundamentals deploy along organization lines. Notice how the Mission of the organization is documented on the top table (pg. 2) and is broken into multiple Activities based on the organization chart. Deployment is accomplished by taking an Activity on the top table and moving it to the Mission of a lower table. Notice how Performance Measures are used to track performance and how the 4-up display of the measures (pg. 5) provides quick verification that processes are operating normally or not.

Abnormality Tables (pages 6-7)

Abnormality Tables are used to document the resolution of abnormal events. They are completed as information becomes available. The State is an indicator of how the abnormality is

progressing through the PDCA cycle. Abnormalities support the corrective action process.

Long Range Plan (page 8)

The Long Range Plan is based on the organization’s Vision. It describes the key change

initiatives necessary to make the Vision a reality. It typically consists of only one planning table.

Annual Plan (pages 9-11)

The Annual Plan looks at the gap between Business Fundamentals and the Long Range Plan and documents the specific things that must be accomplished this year in order to move the

organization along the path to achieving its Vision. The Annual Plan deploys along issue lines and not necessarily according to the organization chart. Notice how the top table (pg. 9) is tracked using only Performance Measures. As the plan is deployed down, however, Deliverables are used to track progress. At the end of every branch of the Annual Plan is an improvement project (CPI project, Six Sigma project, Lean Event, etc.) that is tracked using Deliverables.

Review Tables (page 12)

Reviews Tables are used to manage the plan. They assure the plan becomes a living document and not a dust collector. They also allow the plan to adapt to new information and opportunities. Review Tables assure that cycles of learning occur to fine tune the plan as you go.

Status Summary (page 13)

The Status Summary report provides a quick look at the current status of the plan. It identifies areas falling behind plan.
