Synchronization
Process
Manually
• When the synchronization is run manually, you will be prompted to confirm the synchronization of Calendars, Contacts and Tasks.
• Synchronization can be run as often as a user chooses.
Automated
• The configuration to automate the scheduling of the synchronize automatically is done in the LinkPoint Configuration program on the Sync Configuration Tab.
• By default, the user will not be prompted to confirm the
synchronizations. This can be changed in the Sync Configuration Tab.
How To Manually Start
LinkPoint Synchronization
To manually launch the LinkPoint Synchronization
program, right-click the LinkPoint icon in the system
tray and choose Open Synchronization in manual
mode.
● To begin the Sync process, click “Start Sync”. LinkPoint will
synchronize each of the selected items.
● Please note that the first time you run the synchronization, LinkPoint will compare data in both systems to identify what data needs to be
synchronized.
● LinkPoint will synchronize all Calendar entries for the past 30 days and 365 future days.
● To prevent private Calendar entries in Lotus Notes from synchronizing to Salesforce, check the “Mark Private” checkbox.
● The summary screens to confirm the synchronization will only occur if you are running the synchronization manually.
• This screen identifies how LinkPoint will synchronize Calendars between the two systems.
• Once LinkPoint evaluates the Calendars in both Lotus Notes and Salesforce, if there are any changes, LinkPoint will display the Calendar Summary Screen. • You have the option of how to
items should be synchronized between Salesforce and Lotus Notes.

Calendar Synchronization
• LinkPoint also provides the ability to override how it will synchronize the Calendar entries.
• You can Right Mouse Click on a Calendar record and select one of the following options:
• Copy the „Salesforce‟ version to „Lotus Notes‟ • Copy the „Lotus Notes‟ version to „Salesforce‟ • Ignore differences until the next time one changes • Ignore differences forever

LinkPoint synchronizes Contacts from Salesforce
in which the user is the owner for.
●
LinkPoint only synchronizes Contacts from Lotus
Notes that have a category of “CRM”. This
prevents any personal contacts in Lotus Notes
from being synchronized to Salesforce.
●
The summary screens to confirm the
synchronization will only occur if you are running
the synchronization manually.
Contact Synchronization
• This screen identifies how LinkPoint will synchronize Contacts between the two systems.
• Once LinkPoint evaluates the Contacts in both Lotus Notes and Salesforce, if there are any changes, LinkPoint will display the Contact Summary Screen. • You have the option of how to
items should be synchronized between Salesforce and Lotus Notes.

• LinkPoint also provides the ability to override how it will synchronize the Contacts.

Task Synchronization

• Once LinkPoint evaluates the Tasks in both Lotus Notes and Salesforce, if there are any changes, LinkPoint will display the Task Summary Screen. • You have the option of how to
items should be synchronized between Salesforce and Lotus Notes.

Task Synchronization
• LinkPoint also provides the ability to override how it will synchronize the Tasks.
• You can Right Mouse Click on a Task record and select one of the following options:
• Copy the „Salesforce‟ version to „Lotus Notes‟ • Copy the „Lotus Notes‟ version to „Salesforce‟ • Ignore differences until the next time one changes • Ignore differences forever
• This feature allows you to reset the last synchronization so you can
reselect and assign sync preferences for items between your e-mail client and CRM solution.
• To reset and rebuild the
synchronization, Right Mouse Click each row and select “Rebuild history during the next synchronization”.

LinkPoint Sync provides you with the option to
customize the synchronization settings between
Lotus Notes and Salesforce with LinkPoint Assist.
●
This feature allows you to schedule the
synchronization to run automatically in the
background throughout the day and alert you of
any conflicts based on your preferences.
This window will display two tab options for Sync settings: Auto
Sync and Sync Jobs.
Configure the hours that the synchronization between Lotus Notes and Salesforce should run. Configure frequency of
Synchronization based on hourly increments.
Configure ifand when you want to be notified that the
synchronization is running.
Configure the Synchronization Operations. These will
determine how the selected data will be created, Updated or Deleted in the corresponding system.
Choose the synchronization type that you would like to configure.
Set synchronization options for past and future days.
At any time you can start an automatic background
synchronization by Right Mouse Click the LinkPoint icon and selecting “Start Background
Synchronization”
