At NHTV Breda you can enrol for an English-taught programme in media and entertainment management. In 3 or 4 years’ time, you will become a manager in creative concept development, production techniques and marketing of entertainment products. After your graduation, you make the right choices with a combination of creativity, technology and commercial thinking!
Year 1
You are introduced to the media landscape and learn about:
> marketing and communication, project management, market research
> production of audio-visual content
> story analysis and digital history Year 2
You learn to develop concepts for advertising campaigns, television programmes and multimedia events. You learn in detail about production techniques of ‘classic’ media, such as radio and television. And you learn about the organisational and commercial side of the work. How do you make sure that a project is completed in time and within budget?
Years 3 and 4
During years 3 and 4, you explore a specialisation and you step into the working world at home or abroad to apply your knowledge and experience. The specialisations are:
Marketing
A marketeer develops strategic plans for the promotion and communica-tion of a product or brand. You know what the competitors are doing and you define the marketing strategy. What is the target group? What is your message? What kind of media will you use?
Production
A producer provides the shape and content of media and entertainment products for the promotion of a brand or product. Just think of magazines, musicals, television shows and websites. You coordinate the editing and production process. You are good at planning and organising, cost-conscious, enjoy cooperating with others, have excellent language skills and are familiar with technology.
Content
A content specialist is a storyteller who knows how to engage his target group. You are the creative mind behind a media concept and responsible for the development into completed content. You create meaningful media experiences.
Production House
Throughout the entire programme, you will work in the mADE Production House one day a week. The programme has been awarded the distinctive feature of ‘Small-Scale Intensive Education’. An additional d 475 fee –
because of this NVAO distinctive feature – allows the study programme to offer its unique ‘Production House’ work experience scheme in all four years of study.
