Acadia Divinity College is the Faculty of Theology of Acadia University and exists

as the official seminary of the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches. Acadia University awards all ADC degrees, and all ADC graduate degrees are approved by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.

ADC is known for rigorous academic instruction and also for a strong emphasis on practical training. This training is designed to help students clarify their call, establish their ministerial competencies, and refine their character in order that they might be used of God as effective leaders in the local church and other ministry settings. ADC helps students:

Develop knowledge by:

• instilling an understanding of Scripture, the guide of faith and practice

• teaching with academic rigour and faithful commitment

• encouraging skills in research and lifelong learning

• producing research that builds knowledge and explores new ideas

Cultivate skills by:

• developing competency for church ministry and broader Christian service

• sharpening natural and spiritual gifts

• mentoring leaders, in partnership with local churches and other agencies

Nurture their personal formation by:

• facilitating growth in Christian faith

• fostering a community that shapes students through relationships

• pushing students to test their calling and advance their self-understanding

• encouraging lifelong development as a person and as a Christian
