Numeric language, general

The instruction describes how the numeric language is made up and functions. Only the most important menus and messages are described. For more in depth information about the display see “Operating instructions Display, graphic”.

Display control stalk

Manual communication with the display is achieved using the control stalk on the right-hand side of the steering wheel. The following commands are available: 1 “Esc” is used to return to the previous

menu and to cancel a setting /operation. 2 “SELECT” confirms the selected choice

of menu or symbol.

3 “ ” moves the cursor up and is used to set numbers/characters.

4 “∇” moves the cursor up and is used to

set numbers / characters. T3008810

Text strings

Numbers between the symbols “<<” and “>>” symbolise a text string. For information about what the numerical text means, see “Menus” page 5 – 17 or “Numerical conversion table” page 18 – 27.

Stop message

Red stop lamp + stop symbol

If the red stop lamp and the stop symbol are displayed the vehicle should be stopped immediately and the engine switched off. The associated numerical text should be read in order to establish where the fault lies. For information about what the numerical text means, see “Menus” page 5 – 17 or “Numerical conversion table” page 18 – 27.

T3014364

T3013624

If the engine is running a warning signal also sounds. It can be acknowledged by pressing Esc, but starts again after 10 seconds. For more in depth information about the messages see “Operating instructions Display, graphic”.

WARNING

The vehicle must be stopped immediately and the engine must be turned off when this lamp lights up.

Information lamp CHECK + text

When the information lamp CHECK lights up, the fault should be checked at the next stop. The associated numerical text is shown in the display. A result of measurement is also shown for some symbols. For information about what the numerical text means, see “Menus” page 5 – 17 or “Numerical conversion table” page 18 – 27.

(7)

Change language

The numerical language is a choice and can be shown as one of three languages in the display. The language can be changed in menu “Display settings”.

(8)

4

Change language

Language

MENU: Display setting, Language

The language settings apply even after the ignition has been switched off.

1 Select “Language” with /∇and press on SET. Display settings Language Units Time/date Display lighting Change password CC 7658.8 km

2 Up to three languages can be displayed. Mark “Numerical”, which indicates the numeric language, using /∇and press SELECT. Press Esc to exit settings and return to the Main menu.

(9)

General

The numerical language has a hierarchical structure and follows the same structure as in “Driver instruction Display, graphic”. In those menus which have text, the text is marked with numbers. The menu explanation gives all menu headings and associated text strings.

Password protected menus

The key symbol to the right in the menu list means that the menu is password protected. For more in depth information about the passwords see “Operating instructions Display, graphic”.
