1. What’s Included

Welcome to Pogoplug Team! Here’s what’s included with your subscription:

One Admin Account

Pogoplug Team is set up through an admin account, and the administrator has privileges that user accounts do not. The admin can add or remove users, see all files and folders, and make changes to the account.

Unlimited Cloud Storage

Your Pogoplug Team account provides unlimited cloud storage for you and your users. Upload and share files of any size with no restrictions.

Flexible Users

Users are added by the admin and can upload and download files and share links. Their privileges are managed by the admin. Users can be added or removed at any time, and there is no limit to the number of users you can add to your account.

Pogoplug Companion Software

Download our free Pogoplug Companion software on any computers that you want to back up folders to your Pogoplug Team account. You can also use Pogoplug Companion to view your Pogoplug-enabled drives like a local drive on your desktop.

Free Mobile Apps

Pogoplug Team members (users and administrator) can download free Pogoplug apps for iPhone®, iPad® and Android™ to access and share files on the go.

2. Getting Started

Getting started with Pogoplug Team is fast and easy. All you need is a Web browser, and you can set up your Pogoplug Team account in just 4 easy steps.

Activate Your Cloud

To activate your unlimited Pogoplug Cloud, visit http://my.pogoplug.com and sign in to your Pogoplug account. As Team administrator, you’ll be able to see all your account’s files and folders, make changes to the UI, and add or remove users.

Customize the User Interface:

Customize the look and feel of the Pogoplug Web interface, landing pages for shared files and emails that are sent

automatically when you share files or add users. These settings can be found on my.pogoplug.com by selecting Settings in the top right corner.

Add Users:

Once you have created folders on your account you can add users. You can choose to give users different permissions on any folder by choosing an Editor or User designation. Users can download and share files within the folder; Editors can not only download and share files, but can upload and delete files as well. Your users can download our Pogoplug Companion software for free to back up files on their computer to their team folder(s).

Upload Content:

There are several ways to add content to your Pogoplug Team account. You can back up with Pogoplug Companion, use Pogoplug Drive to drag and drop files like you would a local drive on your computer, upload to the Web or upload using one of our mobile apps. Once you have all of your files backed up, you can archive your content to create a second copy in our offsite cloud for added security.

4. Adding Users and Setting Permissions

Create folders in your Pogoplug Team account to start adding users. Depending on the permissions you give them, your users can access, download, share and upload files and folders in your Team account.

Adding Users

Once you’ve created a folder that you’d like to share, add users by selecting Add Users next to the folder you would like to give access to.

You can share an unlimited number of folders from your account with each user. When you add a user to a folder, that user will receive an email with a link to the folder. The user can then access the folder by creating a Pogoplug account or by using an existing account.

If you are using Pogoplug as a backup solution, ask your users to download Pogoplug Companion and enable automatic backup of files on their computer. Their files will back up automatically to the Pogoplug Team folder you have shared with them. They can also download free Pogoplug mobile apps to back up the files on their mobile devices and access all files on the go.

User Permissions

When the administrator adds a user to a folder, the administrator can choose one of two permission options for a specific folder/user.

The first, User, permits downloading and sharing links to content in Team folders. The second, Editor, grants greater management privileges, as editors can also upload and delete files.

TEAM Adding Content

5. Adding Content

Pogoplug Team offers many ways for both the team administrator and team users to add content to a Pogoplug Team account: Pogoplug Companion software, the Pogoplug Web interface, free Pogoplug mobile apps, or email.

Backing Up Files With Pogoplug Companion

Pogoplug Companion software allows you to back up content from your computer to your Pogoplug Team account. You can upload to your account with Pogoplug Companion using two methods: automatic backups and Pogoplug Drive.

Automatic Backups

When you open Pogoplug Companion, it will request permission to begin backing up the files on your computer. You can choose a destination for these backups and add additional folders for backup. You can change the destination for your backups in the Pogoplug Companion Preferences screen.

Pogoplug Team can be used as a group backup solution by asking each of your users to Pogoplug Companion. The folders they back up will default to the user folder you shared with them on your Pogoplug Team computer or server.

(13)

Upload via the Web

You can add files to your Pogoplug account directly from a Web browser.

Log into my.pogoplug.com or your custom domain and choose a location where you would like to add your files after completing that step. Select the Upload Folder icon.

You can then upload any file from your computer to your Pogoplug Team account. Pogoplug Team users are also able to upload to folders if the administrator has given them the necessary permissions.

Upload files by selecting the upload icon.

TEAM Adding Content

Upload via Mobile Apps

Pogoplug offers free mobile apps for iPhone®, iPad® and Android™. To upload to your Pogoplug Team account from a mobile device, download to your phone or tablet and select Automatic Upload from the application’s Settings.

If Automatic Upload is enabled, photos and video will be sent

automatically to the destination folder for this user when files are added to the camera roll.

You can also select individual photos or videos and upload them to your Pogoplug Team account directly from your mobile device. From the menu, tap on the camera icon and import by selecting Existing Photos or Videos.

Enable Automatic Upload

within Settings Upload files by selecting the camera icon

(15)

Attachments sent to custom email addresses

In addition to letting users upload by sending attachments from the email address associated with their account, Pogoplug Team enables administrators to create custom email addresses; attachments sent to the custom email address from ANY email address (even ones not associated with a Pogoplug account) will be delivered to the selected folder.

For example, an administrator may create the custom email address [email protected] and set the default destination to a “Blueprints”

folder. Any emails with attachments sent to this address will be delivered to the “Blueprints” folder. Custom email addresses are available on a first come, first served basis, but you can check availability within the Email Attachments section of Settings. Administrators may add, remove and modify custom email addresses at any time.

There are two ways that Pogoplug Team users can upload via email attachments within Settings > Email Attachments:

User uploads via attachment

By checking the “Upload email attachments” box, Pogoplug Team users can email attachments to [email protected] from the address associated with their Pogoplug Team account in order to add files to their preferred folder. After checking the box to enable this feature, each user will be able to select the default destination for files uploaded by email.

TEAM Sharing Content

7. Sharing Content

Share Links

If you have customized your UI and emails, you can share files with clients through an interface that matches your branding. Selecting the Share option next to a file or folder generates a share link. You can send that link via email, Facebook, Google+ or Twitter. You can also simply copy and paste the link.

Sharing Options Create a custom message

You can also add a custom message by selecting “Advanced” under “Email this link.” You can change the subject line as well as the email content.

(17)

Selecting “Options” next to your share link gives you four different options.

1. Allow Downloads

You can allow or prevent the files you share from being downloaded. If you uncheck “Allow Downloads,” the people you share with will be able to view previews but won’t be able to download the files.

2. Allow Uploads

If you are sharing a folder, you will have the option to allow the people you share with to upload to the folder.

3. Display Social Sharing Icons

Pogoplug share landing pages allow for those who view the content to further share to Facebook, Twitter and Google+. You can disable this option for more private sharing.

4. Assign Password

To further secure your share link, you can add a password. Recipients of the share link will only be able to view content after entering the password you select.
