PINEHURST
The Village of Pinehurst is an enchanting, dynamic net- work which mirrors our rich history and customs, up- graded by a one of a kind blend of social expressions and recreational exercises. It is situated in the Sandhills of North Carolina and facilitated both the 2014 U.S. Open and U.S. Ladies’ Open Championships, denoting the first run through in history that the two competitions were played around the same time, on a similar course—
Pinehurst No. 2.
It is also home of the memorable golf resort, Pinehurst Resort. A huge part of the focal town, including the hotel buildings, is a National Historic Landmark District, as- signed in 1996 for its scene structure (by Frederick Law Olmsted) and its importance in the historical back- drop of golf in the United States.
In spite of the fact that it was built up in 1895, the Village did not turn into a re- gion until 1980. James Walker Tufts, an inhabitant of the Boston region, had amassed an extensive fortune as head of different ventures, most promi- nently the American Soda Fountain Company. In 1895, he made a course of action to buy around 598 sections of land for about $1.25 per section to make a resort.
Mr. Tufts needed a “top notch” plan for his new retreat and reached a land ar- ranging firm in Brookline, Massachusetts. In around three weeks time, the arrangement for the Village of Pinehurst was framed. Mr. Tufts at that point enlisted Donald Ross in 1900 to be in charge of advancement of golf.
For a long time, Pinehurst was a secretly held under sole ownership of the Tufts family. By the late 1960’s the investors of Pinehurst, Inc. chosen to pitch the retreat property to Diamondhead Corporation. Throughout the following decade, Diamondhead made around 7,000 parcels or units available to be purchased with enroll- ment rights to the Pinehurst resort offices. Foundation to help these parcels (streets, water, sewer, and so on.) was additionally built as of now.
In 1980, in accordance with an Order of Incorpora- tion, the Village of Pinehurst turned into a consolidated district. From that point forward, responsibility for resort
property has changed hands a few times and the in-
credibly famous fairways have

Simple Ways To Cut Carbs
When Eating On The Go!(BPT) - Whether you are trying to reduce carbs or eat more protein, eating well on the go can be a challenge.
Quality carbohydrates like whole-grain breads, milk, yogurt, fruits and legumes are an import- ant part of a balanced diet, especially for children and teens. For adults, reducing the amount of empty carbs you eat can be a great way to meet your personal wellness goals. It’s important to replace those carbs with lean meats, healthy fats and nutrient-dense vegetables.
Here are a few simple suggestions to eat on the go while still following your current diet.
Keto-style
A ketogenic diet, also known as keto, is a pop- ular diet that balances protein, fat and carbs roughly in the following breakdown:
* 10 percent or less of their calories from carbs
* 70 to 80 percent of their calories from fat
* 10 to 20 percent of their calories from protein
One good way to follow a ketogenic diet is with a salad starting with a lean meat such as rotis- serie-style chicken, turkey breast, steak or roast beef. Add in some veggies like lettuce, spinach and onions. Then top it all off with a dressing that has less than 2 grams of carbs like ranch, savory Caesar, oil and vinegar or Chipotle South- west.
Carb-conscious
If keto sounds too ambitious for you, there are other simple ways to reduce carbs in your diet,
like asking for a lettuce wrap instead of a sand- wich. You can make any Subway sandwich into a nutritious salad with five servings of veggies.
Visit subway.com and use the nutrition chart to see how your favorite salad stacks up, or try these favorites:
* “Spicy” Steak Salad: Order a steak salad with your favorite veggies plus jalapenos, shredded Monterey Cheddar and Chipotle Southwest sauce. This has 380 calories, 17 grams of carbs and 21 grams of protein.
* “Cobb-style” Oven Roasted Chicken Salad: Try a salad with oven roasted chicken, guacamole, your favorite veggies and top it off with ranch dressing. This has 420 calories, 20 grams of carbs and 21 grams of protein. You could also add a strip of bacon for an additional 35 calories.
If you’re in the mood for a sub but would like to cut down on carbs, you can always ask to have your bread scooped out.
Quality carbs
Trying to improve the overall nutrition quality in your diet, but don’t want to cut carbs? Try these easy swaps:
* Swap white bread for wheat. Select whole grain-certified 9-Grain Wheat
* Swap sweet sauce for savory. Try mustard, oil and vinegar or mayo
* Swap sweet drinks for water. Choose bottled water or unsweetened fountain drinks
