Responsible for academic advising and program planning for approximately 40
communication studies majors each semester. Advise students regarding post-graduation planning (e.g., applying to graduate and professional programs and career development).
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
2010 Scholarly Writing Retreat, Lewis and Clark College, Portland OR A two-week long summer writing retreat with academics from various disciplines and universities across the country. This retreat included sessions on academic writing, editing, and publication processes through which participants worked to refine their manuscripts for publication.
2011 Faculty Success Program, National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity
This 15-week long intensive summer program involved seminars, small-group accountability programs, and faculty-coaching to assist faculty across the country in enhancing their academic writing processes and research productivity.
2011 Diverse Faculty Mentoring Program, University of Tennessee, Knoxville A full day workshop of panels and informational sessions regarding strategies to enhance the experiences and achievement of diverse faculty in the areas of research, teaching, and service.
