Success Criteria:
1. Write the equation.
2. Draw the first number in dienes underneath the equation (the whole).
3. Cross out how many you need to take away (cross out the ones).
4. If you do not have enough ones to take away, cross out a group of ten and turn it into ten ones.
5. Count how many you have altogether (make sure you do not count the group of ten that you crossed out!)
6. Write your answer.

– SpellingsPlease help your child to learn the spellings below by following these steps:
1. Look at the first word 2. Say the sounds together
3. Blend the sounds and say the word together
4. Ask your child to say the sounds, blend them and say the word by themselves 5. Repeat if necessary
6. Fold the page to hide the words
7. Ask your child to write the word from memory (no helping!) 8. Unfold the page to show the words and check the spelling 9. Repeat for the next word.

Activity: Today we are going to change the opening sentence and add more detail by looking at:

Resolution
On his way home, Gerald met a cricket who told him that sometimes when you are different, you just need a different song. The cricket smiled and picked up his violin. As he was playing the instrument, Gerald felt his body do the most amazing thing. His hooves were making circles on the ground, his neck was gently swaying and his tail was swishing round. Gerald felt so wonderful, and he realised that he was dancing.

Then one by one all the animals arrived and watched Gerald dancing. They thought he was the best dancer they had ever seen. All the animals asked Gerald how he danced like that. Gerald told them that we can all dance when we find music that we love.
