Special Announcements

Please Note: The IMA Ministers Meeting will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 4:30 p.m., at the Dunbar Pavilion, 325 W. 2nd Street, right before the IMA Community Action Team Meeting at 5:30 p.m. We’re combining the two meetings from now on. We are praying and hoping more pastors and associate ministers will get involved with the clergy, churches, community, and city for Christ.

IMA Community Action Team Meeting will meet on April 20, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. at the Dunbar Pavilion, 325 W. 2nd Street. No need to sign-up, just show up and come willing to work. If you have any specific questions regarding the IMA CAT Domains or the Town Hall Meetings, you can now contact us via our email at: [email protected]. PS – The meeting for the IMA CAT Domain Leaders will be April 17, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Rising Star MBC, 2800 E. 36th Street.

The Pastor Partnership meeting has been cancelled in order to support the - 3-Day Pastors Prayer Summit – The Summit begins at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20th and will end at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22nd. The cost is $195.00 (includes lodging and meals) or $125.00 (meals but no lodging). Pastors please prioritize this time. Our city needs our unity, and each of us need time to be refreshed by the Lord and one another. Congregation members: will you pray for your pastors, and if possible, consider donating to help cover their costs? Scholarships are available! CITY SOLICITING PUBLIC COMMENTS ON THREE PLANNING DOCUMENTS - The City of Tucson is asking for public comments on the draft update to the City of Tucson/Pima County Five-Year Consolidated Plan, the draft update to the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Plan (AI), and the City’s Annual Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2016 (July 1, 2015 - June 30, 2016). The next NAACP Meeting will be held at the Donna Liggins Center, 2160 N. 6th Ave, on every second Monday unless otherwise announced from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Greater South Park Church, 2419 South Park Ave, Youth Conference 2015 presents, “Save Lord Save!” featuring God’s Small Wonders (GSW), April 18-19, 2015. The Love Center will host its first Youth and Young Adult Revival on April 23-24, 2015 nightly at 7:00 p.m. Guest speaker will be Elder Nathaniel Chase, Youth Pastor of The Tabernacle at Greater Bethlehem Temple of Baltimore, MD. Walk-A-Thorn/Picnic and Birthday Celebration for Evangelist Cherry Jackson sponsored by the Mt. Zion District, Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kennedy Park, 3778 S. KIDCO HIRING FOR SUMMER PROGRAMS - Tucson's Parks and Recreation Department is hiring for its KIDCO summer program. KIDCO is an after-school program for kids 5-11 years old. The summer version includes sports, games, performing arts, and special events. Teens and young adults interested in applying for jobs (must be at least 16 years old) can do so online (link below) through Sunday. Interviews will take place on April 27, 2015. The SDA Pastors Only Retreat will be held May 1-2, 2015 at Cottonwood de Tucson Nash House, 4110 Sweetwater. It will begin Friday, May 1, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. The cost per Pastor is $15.00 for food. Annual Legacy of Excellence Banquet - On May 2, 2015 TUSD will host their 5th Annual Legacy of Excellence Banquet at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. They will honor one Certified TUSD employee, one Classified TUSD employee and either a community member or organization for their work with African American students in TUSD. Honorees will be acknowledged as Stewards of Inspiration. The SDA Usher Auxiliary is having an Usher Workshop on Saturday, May 16, 2015. It will be held at Rising Star MBC located at 2800 East 36th St. Tucson, AZ 85713. A Continental Breakfast will be served. Usher literature will be distributed. This workshop will concentrate on usher drills (practice of uniformity of signals). Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Adults: $15 (18 and older). Youth: $10 (17 and under) Instructor: Sis. Marilyn Foard of Phoenix, AZ, who is President of the National Missionary Convention of Arizona and State Usher President for General Missionary Baptist State Convention of Arizona. They are asking all RSMBC Ushers (Youth and Adults) to pay in cash. These funds will be used to purchase breakfast for the workshop. Cash funds should be given to Deacon Lee Adams or Sis. Pamela (P. J.) Dean. All checks should be made out to the SDA (Southern Arizona Missionary Baptist District Association). Deadline for receipt of your payment is Wednesday, May 6, 2015.

The Paradise Missionary Baptist State Convention of Arizona, Inc. State Camp will be held at Prescott Pines Camp from June 1, 2015, through June 4, 2015. Please note this new date for this year. Also, this new camp will allow campers to swim, zip line, canoe, hike, and much, much more! Our camp staff will ensure that your campers and chaperones will have the most fun while developing relationships that will last when they return home. You can view the camp at www.prescottpines.com.
