Program Overview

The Workforce Development Grant is part of Gymnastics WA’s (GWA) Enable Strategic Objectives. GWA are committed to developing and supporting clubs, coaches, officials, administrators and support personnel.

The Workforce Development Grant offers a unique opportunity for Gymnastics WA members to take advantage of the expertise and skills of people and organisations in the wider community that can assist in delivering targeted education and training opportunities.

Eligibility

It is essential that all applicants read the guidelines and associated materials to ensure they provide themselves with the best opportunity to be successful in receiving the grant.

To be eligible applicants must:

 Be actively involved in an affiliated GWA club/association, or a GWA Technical Committee.

 Be a coach, administrator, support personnel or official

 Be a current Technical Member, if the applicant is a coach or official.

Additional Information

 The program/project should be inclusive of metro and regional areas where possible.

 If using a facilitator for the education or training opportunity they should be credible in their field of expertise.

 Clear outcomes and performance measures must be identified and met.  Provide detailed budget information.

 Affiliation fees, meals, clothing and equipment will not be funded by the grant but can be included as a financial contribution by the individual/Club.

 Applicants can have other funding for a project ie government funding etc, as long as there is no surplus income. This must be declared within your

application.

 Applicants that have outstanding GWA grants or monies (of any form) will not be considered.

 Workforce Development Grants will be paid to the applicant upon providing acquittal requirements at the conclusion of the project.

 Management of all grants will be the responsibility of the applicant. They must certify they have the capacity to manage, report on, provide the correct documentation and acquit the GWA grant as requested.

 GWA are unable to support a submission that is in competition with GWA scheduled or calendared activities.

 Applications can be received at any time during the 2015/2016 financial

year, the project must be completed within this time period also.

All report schedules and tax receipts must be received by GWA

within 30 days of the project completion.

Roles and Responsibilities

Grant Applicant

 Commitment to complete grant project activities and objectives.

 Ensure Key Results Schedule and activities are completed as per grant agreement.

 Complete reporting and submit to GWA within 30 days of project completion

 A GWA reimbursement form and all Tax receipts must be provided to GWA to receive reimbursement of the grant money. All receipts/invoices need to be made out to the grant recipient and indicate proof of purchase/spend.

o For overseas expenditure, itemised receipts including the exchange rate at the time the expense was incurred are required. This is usually clearly displayed on credit card/bank statements.

Gymnastics WA

 Manage the grant’s promotion, application, and selection processes  Develop and implement selection panels, assessment tools and feedback

mechanisms.

 Liaise with and assist grant recipients  Finalise all grants, reimburse and report.

Tips for a Successful Scholarship Application

 Read all material associated with this grant and have a complete understanding

of the requirements.

 Read the questions on the application form carefully and answer the questions stated.

Steps in the Grants Process

STEP 1 Read and understand all forms/assessment criteria etc. STEP 2 Applicant to complete the application form.

STEP 3 Applicant submits the application to GWA ensuring all associated documents are attached – ie project budget STEP 4 Applications will be assessed by the GWA selection panel

within 21 working days

STEP 5 Successful applicants will be ratified by the GWA Board, at their next meeting.

STEP 6 Successful and unsuccessful grant recipients advised. STEP 7 Consultation between recipient and GWA to determine

outcomes of grant and set Key Results Schedule and project dates.

STEP 8 Grant Agreement completed and project implemented. STEP 9 Applicant submits project report, tax invoice receipts and

acquittal documentation to GWA for reimbursement and completion of grant.

A panel consisting of two representatives from GWA (Services and Development Manager and Gymsports Manager) and a representative from DSR will recommend the successful recipients.
