International Home 0 8 0 0

International Home 0800 is a great way to encourage friends and family overseas to call you and keep in touch – because they pay nothing for the call. Instead, the cost appears on your Telecom bill here in New Zealand.

It’s like an automatic collect call, but it’s faster and much cheaper, and it works from almost any phone in over 40 countries. There’s more good news: with International Home 0800, calls are charged at Telecom’s great international calling rates – not at the rates that apply from the overseas country. The monthly access fee is $2.50 per International Home 0800 number for customers with Anytime or HomeLine rental and calling, plus one add-on (eg. Smartphone services Call Minder or SKY Digital Start Up).

Capped calling offers apply to calls of up to 2 hours duration at off-peak times (New Zealand time). That is weeknights (6pm – 8am Monday to Friday), weekends (6pm Friday to 8am Monday) and National Statutory Holidays.

Wherever your family are living or travelling in New Zealand, they can call home for free with a National Home 0800 number. It’s a great way to encourage children who are studying or working away from home to keep in touch.

They can call from almost any phone, including mobile phones and payphones. The call charges plus a small fee are billed to your phone account at home.

It’s cheaper and faster than collect calls, and you can get a confidential PIN so no-one else can use your National Home 0800 number.

There is a one-off set-up charge of $56.25, but no ongoing monthly charge for this service. There is also a charge of 75 cents per call, in addition to the cost of the call.

National Home 0800 calls also qualify for Telecom’s $3 Weekends and Weeknights capped call specials. The surcharge of 75 cents is in addition to the capped price. Capped calls do not apply to calls made from mobile phones. Effective April 20th 2005: Calls made from Telecom Payphones to a Home 0800 number will incur a 24c per minute (incl GST) payphone surcharge in addition to the usual Home 0800 charges, and will not be eligible for Telecom capped calling offers.
