Trends seen in Passive Infrastructure

No dramatic landscape change within tower sector

 Demand side – Already on Plateau and will drop further here on. Rural expansion / new towers likely but not urban. TRAI’s recommendation: make Infra as essential service / under Unified license.

 Tenancy up to >2.5 & will grow further. Low volume players are exiting.

 ICR is kicking in / helping cost savings. Rural 2G expansion / Urban 3G capacity Requirements will be drivers. Co-lo 2G/3G sites will be in Demand.

 Quality of Experience will become Paramount as 3G kicks in. Impact on end-to-end QoS, backhaul capacity, energy efficiency, capacity, coverage will be paramount  Soft issues such as Tower Aesthetics will kick in, Expect Zoning restrictions from

Municipalities / Resident Associations / Governing agencies.

 Your biggest challenges will remain – energy/ power costs, diesel theft, alternative power challenges will continue to bog tower businesses
