Using HTML 5 content for your digital signs on mobile devices, on outdoor screens, in stores and in corporate buildings is now possible via the new Enterprise Communication Suite.
Out-of-the-box, Scala integrates with some of your favorite design tools, so it was already possible to create stunning visuals using your favorite tools.
But now it’s super easy to create and use dynamic content with the adaption of HTML 5 into the New Enterprise software of Scala:
• Unify web design and screen content.
HTML5 is the emerging standard for great content on the web - now use the same content for your public displays. HTML 5 makes it very easy to display real time information such
as stock prices, weather, news headlines, and sports scores - independent of web or screen playback.
• The talent pool for content-creation is massively increased.
Finding an HTML 5 content creator is going to be much easier, and probably much cheaper, than finding a creator who is familiar with digital signage content creation.
• Availability of content.
Similarly, there is a huge array of existing script libraries available on the web, so there’s no need to re-invent the wheel.
• HTML5 support for Android and Scala Players.

Scala’s new Enterprise solution supports a new family of Android powered media players and photo frames.
This enables you to create, manage, distribute and playback content for dynamic digital signage displays without the need for a dedicated PC. In most cases a dedicated PC is more expensive than using an Android device. Reducing the cost for displays - a key component in digital communication networks - results clearly in an overall lower total investment.
The supported digital signs and players are not only lower in cost... because the devices will be able to take advantage of HTML5 for dynamic and interactive content they are also growing in flexibility and capability.
And you can connect the devices directly to Scala Enterprise Content Manager, without the need for an intermediate software package - as it was in the past - called “Bridge Server”.
The Scala Player runs on specific Android-powered media player hardware and photo-frame hardware from a number of vendors. Specific devices from IAdea and Outform (i-Display), that have built their version of the Android OS to be hardened for digital signage applications, are supported by Scala Enterprise.
