ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Sun Touch Massage School is located in Mayfield, Kentucky. Centrally located in the Midwest, the town of Mayfield is located in the western tip of Kentucky, approximately 30 miles from Illinois, Missouri, and Tennessee.
The administrator, staff, and instructors are dedicated to staying current with the many advances in this important field. They are all active in a massage practice or other types of bodywork. You will receive personalized instruction from the dedicated, practicing health care professionals. We emphasize extensive hands on experience.
HOW TO REGISTER
Complete the application form enclosed. Please be sure to fill out all requested information. Include three letters of reference and a $50.00 application fee (non-refundable).
The Administrator and staff will review your application. Approval for admission is granted or denied at the discretion of the Administrator. When you are granted admission, you will be contacted for an appointment to complete your contract and discuss the payment schedule.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
An applicant must be at least 18 years of age, and have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent. An applicant must be in good health and able to physically perform massage techniques. Sun Touch Massage School admits people of any race, gender, sexual preference, national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities available at the school.
LICENSING
Sun Touch is licensed by the State Board for Proprietary Education, and is listed as an assigned school for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. This means that you will be eligible to take the National Certification Board exam after satisfactorily completing our courses. You may now also choose the MBLEx exam. Kentucky, Tennessee, and many other states now accept both exams for licensure.
POLICIES
Regular attendance is essential. Missing more than 10% of any course is not satisfactory. A student who must miss a class is required to call the school in advance of the scheduled class. Absences of more than 10% can result in probation or dismissal from the program.
A student may schedule make-up work or a make-up class with an instructor; however, this will bring about an additional charge. Students are responsible for all class materials and must make
arrangements to obtain and complete missed assignments before the next class. All courses must be completed with a grade of 70% or higher.
Late arrivals to class cause disruptions to the class and other students. You will be considered tardy if you enter the class after the scheduled beginning time.
Students are expected to behave in a responsible manner at all times. A student may be subject to dismissal for failure to meet the attendance policies; for attending Class under the influence of drugs or alcohol; for destruction or theft of school property or property of another student; for sexual misconduct of
PAYMENT INFORMATION
Sun Touch Massage School accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. We are also a participating school for Vocational Rehab, and Workforce Programs. If you need to arrange financing with the school, please make an appointment with the Administrator. A contract will be signed between the Administrator and student for each 100 hour block of classes.
To drop a class and receive a refund of your deposit you must notify the Administrator at least 4 days before the class starts. You may request a pro rated refund of tuition if you withdraw, drop out, or are expelled, before 25% of the class is completed. After 25% is completed, there may be no refund.
PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE
There are many opportunities for work with beauty salons, fitness centers, chiropractic offices, day spas, and those in private practice. Graduates are given first opportunity for all calls we receive from businesses seeking massage therapists.
TEXTBOOKS AND EQUIPMENT
Textbooks and equipment are available through the school. Required textbooks are included in the cost of tuition. These may change from time to time- check with the school before purchasing books for classes. Courses required for licensure vary by state. We offer 500 for Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri. Kentucky requires 600 hours.

INTRODUCTION TO MASSAGE THERAPY: 100 HOURS OF STUDY-Cost of course $1,800
Milady’s Theory and Practice of Therapeutic Massage, Fifth Edition, Mark Beck. The textbook and workbook are required. This course is based on traditional Swedish massage, and covers contraindications,
benefits, history and client documentation.

ADVANCED MASSAGE TECHNIQUES: 100 HOURS OF STUDY-Cost of course $1800
Textbook & Workbook Required: Trail Guide to the Body by Andrew Biel, Fourth Edition. This is taught by Sharon K. Wood, L.P.N., L.M.T. Within this course Amanda Stafford teaches a segment on The
Anatomy of Movement.

SCHEDULE OF CLASSES
Classes are scheduled Monday through Saturday. Morning classes meet 9 a.m. – 12 noon; Afternoon classes meet 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. and Evening classes meet 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
