MAKING WATER WORK IN

EVERY ENVIRONMENT

Whether it’s delivering water to remote locations or

building Queensland’s largest dam, SunWater makes

water work in

every environment

.

To ensure water isn’t the only resource that we secure for the future, our commitment to the environment and surrounding communities is engrained in everything we do – it’s part of our value system.

With the use of effective environment and resource management plans, community programs and energy efficiency initiatives, we provide positive environment, social and economic benefits that contribute to the wider community.

EVERY ENVIRONMENT

As a progressive organisation we understand that everything we do has some impact on the environment. To ensure we are making the right decisions, we use an environmental road map to guide our future decisions.

This road map not only guides our planning but helps us to minimise our ecological footprint through environmentally conscious management and operational procedures. By taking a proactive stance on

environmental issues every time, we have been able to deliver some of Australia’s most innovative fishway management strategies, develop alternate and more sustainable methods of weed control

and successfully steer our projects through the environmental impact assessment process.

The way we do business also ensures that we are contributing positively in every environment. As an organisation we actively encourage the identification of energy efficient opportunities by all employees through our systems and measurable targets for improvement.

EVERYWHERE

There isn’t a job that we do that doesn’t involve people – everywhere.

The community is part of every aspect of our business, from employees to stakeholders and the wider communities that we operate in. To ensure we balance

the role of SunWater within the community, we take a hands-on approach to managing our corporate footprint and building stronger relationships.

This committed approach to a secure future for everyone means that each year we contribute to local industries with the generation of jobs, support for grass root community programs and events through sponsorships, workplace training and development opportunities.

One of the major ways that we are able to give more to our community is by playing an active role in raising awareness about water safety. Each year SunWater undertakes a state-wide water safety awareness

campaign that delivers vital messages about keeping safe in waterways to an audience of over 3 million viewers.

combined with school educational programs and on-the-job training for our staff, we are able to provide the community with a better understanding of water and how to make it work everywhere.
