nd/ SECOND IWPC CONGRESS
We have realized successfully the first Intercontinental Wind Power Congress - IWPC in April 2015 with European Wind
Energy Association (EWEA) and Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC). Istanbul bringing together the continents that
brought together stakeholders in the wind energy..
The President of the European Wind Energy Association, Chairman of the Global Wind Enthergy Council, IWPC Congress
Chairman, EMRA (Energy Market Regulation Authority) Chairman, Science, Industry and Technology Minister took part in
the opening speech. In the congress that was realized with over 1.500 participants, from abroad and Turkey. The Minister
of Energy and Natural Resources Mr. Taner YILDIZ took part with his video speech because of he been in abroad.
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Jordan were represented at ministerial level. From Spain to Japan for a total of
51 country representatives were in Congress.
We have signed an enjoyable and useful convention with the participation of the traders, industrialists, turbine
manufacturers, public and private sector representatives, useful with non-governmental organizations with the
participators who devoted to the wind.
Developments in world events, wind energy goals of the country, technological advances, legislations many issues such
as the exchange of ideas took place in the congress.
The congress prepared the ground for new partnerships. Wind potential of our country, at this point and was transferred
to all participants in the wind sector development.
Our foreign guests who participated to the Istanbul Tour after the congress, left from the Turkey by remaining precious
memories. We are happy because we have come together under the roof of the ‘Wind’ in the congress.
We believe that the congress was so beneficial for all the participants both international and national. We started
preparations for the second Intercontinental Wind Power Congress - IWPC.
We thanks all of the participants and sponsors due to their supports. We wish to get back together to discuss innovation
and progress in the wind sector.
