THE 2012

FORMULA 1™

BRITISH GRAND

PRIX

Saturday 29th – Sunday 30th June 2013

Silverstone 2012 saw the reinvigorated Mark Webber storm to victory ahead of

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, leaving the McLaren team in their wake. The 2013

British Grand Prix promises to be every bit as exciting, with the top 3 teams expected

to battle hard for the constructor’s championship. Will Lewis Hamilton win with his

Mercedes or will this move from McLaren prove to be a mistake? Who will be

defending their championship? Will the new teams make progress against the big

three? Here is your chance to be part of the action - join us at Silverstone for the

2013 British Grand Prix!

The potent mixture of glamour, drama and excitement combine to make The British

Grand Prix one of the world’s major sporting occasions. The tour operator is Sport

Experiences which is backed by ABTA. They offer you an incredible value break to

Silverstone, so that you can be there and experience at first hand the excitement of

the British Grand Prix!

This great value two day tour includes general admission to Silverstone, “The

Home of British Motor Racing”, on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday you will

experience the excitement of the Official Qualifying Session and the support races

and then on Sunday you will enjoy the highlight of the weekend – The 2013 Formula

1™ British Grand Prix.

£215

private facilities and twin beds.

Government taxes and service charges

The above price is based upon a minimum group size of 10 students with 2 companying members of staff.

If the group size from PGS exceeds 39, the group will have the exclusive use of a coach. For small groups, travel will be shared with another school. Last year, we travelled with staff and students from Portchester School in Portsmouth.

General admission allows access to any area of the circuit to which the public have access which is

NOT a grandstand. These areas are usually gravel or grass but spectators are allowed to take their

own seat to erect in these areas.

Optional Extras

Travel insurance is available through the operator at an additional cost of

£4.25

(aged

16 and under) or

£8.50

(aged 17 and over).

If you elect NOT to take out travel insurance

provided by the operator, you agree to indemnify Newmarket Promotions Ltd for any costs they incur

which would normally be met by their insurers.

It is strongly recommended that students

have travel insurance even if it is provided by another policy and parents should

ensure that their insurance plan covers their children travelling without their

supervision.

All students will be required to bring ear plugs. These will be available through the

school prior to the trip.

Your Travel Arrangements

You will be collected from your school or college early on Saturday morning and taken to Silverstone.

We plan to arrive during the late morning, in good time to see the Official Formula One Qualifying Session,

when the drivers fight for Pole Position, and the day’s support races. At the end of the day’s action we will

transfer you to your overnight accommodation.

We recommend that you have lunch and then an early

dinner at the circuit, prior to departing for your hotel. Last year, it was possible to order a pizza

through a restaurant near the hotel at an extra cost but please note that

THE ONLY MEAL SUPPLIED

BY THE TOUR COMPANY IS A CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST ON SUNDAY MORNING. ALL OTHER

FOOD SHOULD BE BROUGHT WITH YOU OR PURCHASED AT SILVERSTONE.

Last year, an evening meal was arranged though the hotel

at additional cost

. The school will make every

effort to make similar arrangements this year, once the hotel is known.

We will set off very early on Sunday morning in order to arrive in good time at Silverstone. The warm-up

Session and support races take place in the morning and these are usually followed by an air display, before

the highlight of the weekend – The 2013 Formula 1™ British Grand Prix. Feel the tension as the cars line up

on the grid, last minute preparations are completed, they’re under Starters Orders, the lights go out and

they’re off!

It is only possible to appreciate fully the incredible speed, noise and skill levels by watching the action live.

It is a genuinely thrilling experience and one which students will remember for a long time to come!

After the race and the driver and constructor trophy presentation, we will head for home in the late

afternoon and should arrive back at your school, usually by 2000 hrs.

Groups of between 40 and 44 students will be allocated a coach exclusively for their own use on the tour.

For groups of between 10 and 39 students, we will arrange for you to travel with another school or college

to ensure you have no coach under-occupancy supplement to pay.

Your Accommodation

We have reserved a range of good standard hotel accommodation within a ninety minute coach transfer of

Silverstone, ensuring that your group is well located for access to the Circuit. Our range of hotels includes

properties such as the Campanile Hotel in Coventry and the Campanile Hotel in Birmingham.

All bedrooms, of course, have private facilities and our selection of hotels ensures that you will enjoy a

superior standard of accommodation to that usually provided for school and college groups. Continental

breakfast is included in the price of the trip, however please note that it may be served as a boxed breakfast

due to the early start time on Sunday morning. AN EVENING MEAL IS NOT SUPPLIED BY THE HOTEL

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Comprehensive insurance is available through Mondial Assistance (UK) Limited, which is part of the Allianz Group (the largest travel nsurer in Europe) at £4.25 per person (aged 16 and under) or £8.50 (aged 17 and over). The policy covers such points as damage, theft, liability and cancellation charges (for medical reasons). If cover is required, please indicate on the Booking Form and enclose the appropriate payment.

SPECIAL REQUESTS AND FITNESS TO TRAVEL

We strive to give all our customers full care and attention, but we do need to know in advance if there are any special dietary needs or disability requirements. These requests will be forwarded to the appropriate supplier, however failure to fulfil a special request cannot be considered breach of contract. If your group should require a tailgate coach, you must request this in advance. Both the price and availability of tailgate coaches are subject to confirmation by Sport Experiences. If any member of the group has suffered from a serious medical condition recently, then they should consult with their Doctor about their fitness to travel.

STUDENT CONDUCT

Sport Experiences requires that each group leader signs a declaration of “responsibility and accountability” for their students, which is detailed on the reverse of the Booking Form. Signing the Booking Form confirms your acceptance of the booking conditions on student conduct.

24 HOUR EMERGENCY SUPPORT

Sport Experiences operates a 24-hour emergency paging system to provide complete security and peace of mind throughout your trip. Most problems can be dealt with quite satisfactorily by our local representatives but it is reassuring to know that our Operations Department is there to provide a friendly and professional service at whatever time of the day or night you might need them.

YOUR JOURNEY

The Coach Companies we use have been selected to be relied upon to provide modern, comfortable coaches and careful, considerate drivers. In line with current regulations all coaches supplied are fitted with lapbelts at no extra cost. Smoking is prohibited on all our coaches. Regular comfort stops are made. Space is limited so please restrict yourselves to one suitcase per person, plus light hand luggage. If your school/college is not based on the mainland, the coach will collect you from where you arrive on the mainland. Please note that any travel arrangements to the mainland are not included in our package price.

PICK UP POINTS AND TIMES

It is the group leader’s responsibility to ensure that all group members adhere to the timings given in your travel instructions. In the event that one or more members of your group are late to the pick-up point at any time during your trip, to the extent where the itinerary arrangements may be jeopardised, the coach driver is within his rights to leave at the appointed time and no additional arrangements need be made for late arrivals. For the return journey you will be disembarked at your original pick up point. Our Driver will endeavour to give an estimated time of arrival at each point, prior to the last transit/comfort stop. This will enable you to telephone families or friends who may be meeting you. Our homebound drop offs are scheduled in reverse order of the pick ups. Because of the inconvenience and delays caused to other passengers we are unable to accept requests to be dropped off at additional points. In the extremely unlikely event of you not receiving final travel instructions detailing the exact time and place of your pick-up, it is your responsibility to contact us prior to departure.

DELAYS

Occasionally coaches may be delayed due to circumstances beyond our control. In such cases we will do our utmost to help you and keep you fully informed. In the event of extended overnight delays, depending upon circumstances, we will endeavour to provide accommodation. In the case of a major delay to your homeward journey, we shall endeavour to delay the departure from your hotel.

OUR COMMITMENT TO QUALITY AND YOUR FINANCIAL PEACE OF MIND

Sport Experiences is a division of Newmarket Promotions Limited, one of the UK’s leading group tour operators. In line with the EC Directive on package travel, all customers enjoy complete financial protection through our ABTA bond, so all payments are safe.
