I received my Engineering Degree in Computer Science and my Master’s Degree in Computing from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain) in 2007. I earned my PhD in Computing from the same university in 2013. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher of the Visual

Computing group (ViC) at the Center for Advanced Studies, Research and Development in Sardinia (CRS4), Italy. My research is mainly focused on the visualization of volumetric data

sets, but I have also worked on the design of relief impostor-based techniques to visualize large city models in real time [10, 11].

The work presented in my PhD thesis includes different topics related to volume visualization, such as realistic and non-photorealistic shading [4, 6, 8], illustrative visualization [3, 4, 8], volume manipulation [3] or the enhancement of Maximum Intensity Projection images [5]. My PhD was partially supported by an FPI grant of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation to train new scientific researchers. As part of my training, I worked as a lab teacher of the subject

Visualization and Graphic Interaction at the Facultat d’Informàtica de Barcelona (FIB) during the

academic term 2011-2012.

My knowledge in Computer Graphics includes, among others, polygonal and volume rendering (C++ and OpenGL), modeling, GPU and parallel processing (GLSL and CUDA), design of graphical interfaces (Qt and Java Swing) and development of applications for virtual reality environments and stereo vision.
