ABOUT THE JUNIOR FELLOWS SOCIETY

"The Junior Fellows Society provides a

unique opportunity to be at the forefront of

the work needed to help make a difference

in improving the delivery of legal services.”

Bryan Conley, WimerHale

A True

Community

Members of the Junior Fellows Society

come together to hear from guest

speakers, attend networking and social

events and volunteer for community

service projects.

Junior Fellows are an important part of

the BBF’s Society of Fellows. When

you pledge to become a member, you

join a community of nearly 400 attorneys

who are committed to investing in our

city’s future.

Because of the

Society of Fellows,

we have been able to

dedicate:

The Boston Bar Foundation’s Junior Fellows Society is a special charitable giving initiative involving lawyers within the first ten years of their careers, who are committed to supporting the BBF’s work and making a difference in the lives of those in our community.

With an annual gift of $250 per year for 4 years, Junior Fellows Society members establish themselves as true leaders of the Boston legal community. Their generosity ensures that the BBF will always be there to expand access to legal help for individuals and families with nowhere to turn, provide educational and career opportunities for young people and engage lawyers in projects to help those in need.

Thousands of individuals and families depend on the programs supported by the Boston Bar Foundation. In order to sustain this support, we depend on a foundation of dedicated and compassionate supporters. Through your pledge, you will not only keep this vital work moving forward, you will also inspire others to join us and help others in their greatest times of need.

"I admire the work of the Boston Bar

Foundation and the tangible, positive

impact of the Foundation in the lives of

those who most need its help.”

Kimberly Butler-Rainen , Tamkin & Hochberg, LLP

BRINGING HOPE AND HELP TO THOSE

IN NEED

We believe every individual that needs to

turn to the justice system should be able

to fine the help they need.

Access to justice is more than a noble aspiration, it

means working each day to ensure adequate

funding for civil legal services for those in need, to

improve the effectiveness of our court system, and

to provide help to low-income, underserved or

special-needs populations.

We invest in organizations and projects that help

people learn their legal rights, leverage the strength

of volunteers to provide assistance, and make a

true difference in the lives of those facing problems

relating to immigration, domestic violence,

homelessness and more. In 2014, the BBF made

$825,500 in grants to 23 organizations.

WORKING

TOGETHER

TO SPARK

CHANGE

IN OUR CITY

We support the programs of the Boston Bar

Association that focus on educating and expanding

opportunities for Boston students, engaging private

attorneys in pro bono service and responding to

needs in our community. In 2014, we:

Funded jobs for 14 Boston Public School students in

the BBA’sSummer Jobs program, introducing diverse students to the legal field and giving them the tools they need to succeed professionally.

Helped teenagers learn to make smart choices about

credit and finance through support of the M. Ellen Carpenter Financial Literacy Program.

Responded to critical needs in our justice system

through support of the BBA Lawyer for the Day in the Boston Housing Court Program, helping to serve thousands of low-income tenants and landlords seeking relief at Boston Housing Court.

Provided Boston Public Schools with the Law Day in

the Schools Program, helping to educate students in first grade through high school about our justice system.

A

GIFT THAT

NOT

ONLY LASTS A

LIFETIME, BUT THAT

CHANGES LIVES
