END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT
END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR APS Corporate 2000++, a VSOFT Services Private Limited SOFTWARE PRODUCT, herein referred as SOFTWARE PRODUCT.
IMPORTANT-READ CAREFULLY : This VSOFT Services Private Limited End-User License Agreement ('EULA') is a legal agreement between you (either an individual or a single entity) and VSOFT Services Private Limited for the VSOFT SOFTWARE PRODUCT identified above, which includes computer software and may include associated media, printed materials and 'online' or electronic documentation ('SOFTWARE PRODUCT'). By installing, copying, or otherwise using the SOFTWARE PRODUCT, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA. If you do not agree to the terms of this EULA, do not install or use the SOFTWARE PRODUCT; you may, however, return it to your place of purchase for a full refund.
SOFTWARE PRODUCT LICENSE
The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is protected by copyright laws and intellectual property laws and treaties. The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is licensed, not sold.
1. GRANT OF LICENSE.
This EULA grants you the following rights:
a. Software Product. VSOFT grants to you as an individual, a personal, nonexclusive license to use a copy of the SOFTWARE. If you are an entity, VSOFT grants you the right to designate one individual within your organization to have the right to use the SOFTWARE PRODUCT in the manner provided above.
b. Storage/Network Use. You may also store or install a copy of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT on a storage device, such as a network server, used only to install or run the SOFTWARE PRODUCT on your other computers over an internal network; however, you must acquire and dedicate a license for each separate computer on which the SOFTWARE PRODUCT is installed or run from the storage device. A license for the SOFTWARE PRODUCT may not be shared or used concurrently on different computers.
2. DESCRIPTION OF OTHER RIGHTS AND LIMITATIONS.
a. Not for Resale Software. If the SOFTWARE PRODUCT is labeled 'Not for Resale' or 'NFR,' then, notwithstanding other sections of this EULA, you may not resell, or otherwise transfer for value, the SOFTWARE PRODUCT.
b. Limitations on Reverse Engineering, Decompilation, and Disassembly. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the SOFTWARE PRODUCT, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation.
c.Separation of Components. The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is licensed as a single product. Its component parts may not be separated for use on more than one computer.
d. Rental and Transfer. You may not rent, lease, transfer or lend the SOFTWARE PRODUCT.
e.Support Services. VSOFT may provide you with support services related to the SOFTWARE PRODUCT ('Support Services'). Use of Support Services is governed by the VSOFT policies and programs. Any supplemental software code provided to you as part of the Support Services shall be considered part of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT and subject to the terms and conditions of this EULA. With respect to technical information you provide to VSOFT as part of the Support Services, VSOFT may use such information for its
business purposes, including for product support and development. VSOFT will not utilize such technical information in a form that personally identifies you.
f. Termination. Without prejudice to any other rights, VSOFT may terminate this EULA if you fail to comply with the terms and conditions of this EULA. In such event, you must destroy all copies of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT and all of its component parts.
3. COPYRIGHT.
All title and copyrights in and to the SOFTWARE PRODUCT (including but not limited to any images,
photographs, animations, text, and 'applets' incorporated into the SOFTWARE PRODUCT), the accompanying printed materials, and any copies of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT may be owned by VSOFT or its suppliers. The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is protected by copyright laws. Therefore, you must treat the SOFTWARE PRODUCT like any other copyrighted material except that you may install the SOFTWARE PRODUCT on a single computer. You may not copy the printed materials accompanying the SOFTWARE PRODUCT.
4. INDIAN GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS.
The SOFTWARE PRODUCT and documentation are provided with RESTRICTED RIGHTS. Use,
duplication, or disclosure by the Government is subject to restrictions as set forth in subparagraph (c)(1)(ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software clause at DFARS 252.227-7013 or subparagraphs (c)(1) and (2) of the Commercial Computer Software-Restricted Rights at 48 CFR 52.227-19, as applicable.

5. EXPORT RESTRICTIONS.
You agree that neither you nor your customers intend to or will, directly or indirectly, export or transmit the SOFTWARE or related documentation and technical data.
LIMITED WARRANTY
LIMITED WARRANTY. Except with respect to the REDISTRIBUTABLES, which are provided 'as is,' without warranty of any kind, VSOFT warrants that the SOFTWARE PRODUCT will perform substantially in accordance with the accompanying written materials for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of receipt. CUSTOMER REMEDIES. VSOFT's and its suppliers' entire liability and your exclusive remedy shall be, at VSOFT's option, either (a) return of the price paid but not more than Maximum Retail Price, or (b) repair or replacement of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT that does not meet VSOFT's Limited Warranty and which is returned to VSOFT with a copy of your receipt. This Limited Warranty is void if failure of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT has resulted from accident, abuse, or misapplication. Any replacement of SOFTWARE
PRODUCT will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or thirty (30) days, whichever is longer. Outside India, neither these remedies nor any product support services offered by VSOFT are available without proof of purchase from an authorized source.
NO OTHER WARRANTIES. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VSOFT AND ITS SUPPLIERS DISCLAIM ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WITH REGARD TO THE SOFTWARE PRODUCT.

PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VSOFT OR ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION, OR ANY OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE PRODUCT, EVEN IF VSOFT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. Preface
APS 2.5 a Devanagari Software, consisting of Devanagari Fonts, Key Board Layout and Key Board Drivers, took the graphic and design industry by storm. APS 2.5 was developed on DOS platform. Since its introduction in 1989, it has earned a place in computing industry for its applications in Indian scripts and has become the most powerful software product developed for IBM - PC, till today.
With the introduction of a user friendly operating systems on Personal Computers viz., MS Windows, it was necessary to provide a solution for Indian Scripts in Windows Environment too. We have introduced APS 3.0 and APS 3.5 versions for Devanagari Scripts under Windows Environment. Clarity of fonts, variety of fonts and user convenience through APS Software has been widely accepted by the industry.
Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs through Rajbhasha Vibhag has been stressing the need of Bilingual usage in all the offices for secretarial
needs. APS Corporate 1.0 / APS Corporate Office 1.0 had been devised and developed to cater such needs.
APS Corporate 2000++ comes with all the features of previous versions of APS Corporate Office such as Devanagari fonts, keyboard layouts, keyboard drivers and interface to standard packages viz. MS Office, Lotus Smart Suite and Data Base Management Systems. Thus text preparation, table preparation through spreadsheets, presentation for Training and Display in Devanagari Script through Power Point and/or Free Lance and Data Processing through Fox Pro is made possible through
APS Corporate 2000++.
Bilingual software developement, using developement tools like Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual Fox Pro, Power Builder, Borland Delphi etc. is made possible under
APS Corporate 2000++ package.
Corporate segment including financial institutions have found APS Corporate product a suitable package. Along with the basic needs of having text typed in Indian scripts, other features like sorting data of Indian scripts, DOS based files conversion to Windows based and conversion of files from other vendors format to APS & vise-versa, built in rajbhasha dictionary for corporates have
been incorporated to meet the needs of time.
APS Corporate 2000++ contains a built in Word Proccessor Chitragupt. All the basic editing facilities for bilingual text formatting are provided. Chitragupt contains a powerfull dictionary containing all the official words and phrases from Rajbhasha and Raksha dictionary. Further, additional dictionary is also provided. User can customise this dictionary as per his needs. Bilingual e-mail using a HTML format is possible through Chitragupt.
User friendly and powerful utility, for those who find it difficult to type in Indian scripts, named Shabdankan is provided with the package. Using this utility you can type in English and the text is converted in Indian scripts depending on selected language.
Installation of APS package has been done on International Standard Basis. Hence, an operator conversant with Windows Environment will be able to install this package.
Manual provides instructions for achieving desired Bilingual results. Technical explaination has been provided to explain necessary setup Environment. Manual provides instructions and guidelines for general purpose corporate as well as DTP Bureau users.

Introduction
Necessity of Windows
MS Windows 3.1, Windows for Workgroup 3.11, Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT products of MICROSOFT are already in the market. Basically it is WYSIWYG {what you see (on screen display) is what you get (on printer output)}. Microsoft is using 32 bit processing from Windows 95 onward operating system.
Windows uses scalable typeface technology which helps the users to create adorable layouts, for precision and overall presentation, of any jobwork. Windows support almost all the printers i.e. Dot Matrix, Ink-Jet, Laser
(Non-Postscript and PostScript) and Imagesetters available in market. Window based packages are user friendly and have the facility of importing and
exporting, which allows user to use various packages simultaneously for a single job. Windows is multi tasking, multi user environment, by which many applications can concurrently work.
Windows allows the use of many international packages available in market thereby increasing efficiency. Vendors like Microsoft and Lotus have
developed package like Microsoft Office and Lotus Smart Suite which have components like MS Word (Word Processor) MS Excel (Spreadsheet), MS Power Point (Presentations), MS Access (Database) and Lotus AmiPro (Word Processor), Lotus 1-2-3 (Spreadsheet) and Lotus Freelance Graphics
(Presentation) respectively to cater various needs of corporate segment.

APS Corporate 2000++ is a interface to the 32 bit Windows environment. Thus packages like MS Office, Lotus SmartSuite, FoxPro can work in
Billingual mode using this package. It has an unique billingual font facility with auto matching font sizes, easy toggling between Roman and Indian Scripts. Utilities like Multiple Keyboard Layouts (Specially designed Anglo-nagari Keyboard - for users who do not have the knowledge of Indian Script typing), Keyboard Layout Viewer, Format Conversion Wizard, Mega Text Conversion, Sorting Utility, Rajbhasha and Raksha Shabdavali, Chitragupta, Shabdankan are provided with the software.
Key Features
Desktop Manager
A unique movable & resizable desktop manager which manipulates all the given below features at a click of mouse is always available at the top of the window.
Bilingual Typing
User can type bilingual text with matching font sizes for Roman and Indian Scripts without changing font by using toggle switch. Toggle switch is so designed that it retains the speed of the operator while bilingual typing.
Multiple Keyboard Option
APS Corporate 2000++ supports most of the keyboard layouts (Typewriters and Computer Text Editors) prevalent in the market for generating text in Devanagari.
This facilitates the user to operate in Billingual mode from day one, by selecting appropriate layout. Selecting appropriate layout also increases throughput and efficiency.
Keyboard Layout Viewer
An on-line Keyboard Layout viewer is provided for viewing the layout of keyboard being used. Layout can also be printed.
Format Conversion Wizard
APS Corporate 2000++ software allows users to convert text generated through various DOS based text editors (Akshar, Shabdaratna, Modular, Prakashak, LE (.ISC), Devyani) prevalent in the market through Format Conversion Wizard utility.
Mega Text Conversion
It provides interface for conversion of Windows based text files from other vendors format to APS format and vise-versa. File support for Winky, Akruti and ISCII has been provided.
Sorting Utility
Sorting of APS Devanagari text from any application can be done using this utility.
Rajbhasha and Raksha Shabdavali
Complete Rajbhasha and Raksha Shabdavali with a powerful search engine for easy access and a user friendly interface for searching and copying Devanagari data to other applications.
Chitragupt
Word processing in Text and Rich text format with all basic editing facilities are provided in chaitragupt. It has a built in dictionary for translation of text from English to Devanagari and vice versa. User can update the dictionary. E-mails in Devanagari script or save files in HTML format is supported. Editor provides all facilities for bilingual text preparation.
Shabdankan
Shabdankan is a user friendly and powerful utility for those who find it difficult to type in (Devanagari). In this utility one can type in English and the text is converted in Devanagari. The translated text can be copied to any other application and also the created / edited file can be saved.
The utility translates the text using the typing sequences some of which are displayed on the right hand side of the screen. However, a complete list can be obtained using the help menu
Any text, which is typed in this sequence using Shabdankan, can be opened in this application and is translated in the Devanagari. The utility has editing
options similar to that of other word editor.
Keypad (Typing with mouse)
This utility provides a bilingual typing way using mouse in any application window.

Registration Card
Product Registration
VSOFT assumes that user agrees to the license conditions. Please furnish all details in the enclosed registration card and return the same to VSOFT at the earliest. Please note down the Registration Number, and paste the machine Sticker, supplied with the package, on your machine for future reference and technical support.
Registration ensures user for entitlement to receive upgrades of existing APS products and new products as & when launched, at a reasonable cost. Users will be informed about upgrades of APS package from time to time.
Remember to inform your Registration number for any kind of support. In absence of registration, support may not be provided.

Software requirements
Prerequisites for use of APS Corporate 2000++ (Software)
APS Corporate 2000++ software is a 32bit interface to MS Windows thus it requires MS Windows 95, Windows 98 or MS WIndows NT installed in the machine.
APS software supports MS Windows based application software like MS Office, Lotus SmartSuite, MS Visual FoxPro and rest alike.
Installation of APS Corporate 2000++ (Software)
Please ensure before installing APS Software:
a. Please close all the software operating under Windows before commencing installation of APS Software.
b. Machine should be virus free, otherwise APS Software will not be installed properly.
Installation of APS software is similar to that of any other package or utilities to be added to Windows environment.
Installation Procedure
Select Start, Run and type D:\setup.exe (where D is CD Drive Letter). a. SETUP program will start with a welcome screen as shown in figure # 2.1.
b. SETUP program will ask to read the License Areement as shown in figure # 2.2.
Read this agreement carefully before proceeding. Click on I Accept to continue the installation.
c. SETUP program will ask for the installation directory as shown in figure # 2.3. Setup will install APS Corporate 2000++ files under c:\Program Files\aps 2000++ directory by default. If you prefer to install APS software in different directory, change the directory using Change Directory button.
d. The screen shown in Figure # 2.4 will appear. Enter the directory name and press OK. In the event of invalid path/directory (it contains invalid drive letters etc. or you do not have access or read/write permission to that path) setup program will not proceed until proper path/directory is given.

e. The screen as shown in Figure #2.5 will appear. Select English or Hindi numeral option depending on, which numerals you want to use in APS fonts.
f. Setup will ask to specify the program group name as shown in Figure # 2.6. Press Continue to start copying the files.

Setup will create APS Corporate 2000++ group and necessary icons. Setup procedure maintains some system informations and interaction with Windows files. On successfull installation Setup will display the follwing message.
Installation for Network
Ensure following for Installation under Novel Netware:
a. Windows is installed properly for Novel Netware.
b User should posses proper login rights for executing setup.exe
c. The node from which installation is done should have C drive present.
To Install the Software on Server Hard Disk F: / G: / H: etc.
a. Run (CD Drive Letter):\Win95\SETUP(for Win95, Win98),
or (CD Drive Letter):\Win311\Disk1\SETUP(for Win3.11) from APS Software CD.
b. Change the default installation directory name with the required server hard disk directory path (e.g H:\APS2000++ or H:\Program Files\APS2000++). The user should have all access rights for this particular directory.
Installation for different User IDs
c. Run the Setup.exe from APS Corporate 2000++ CD.
d. Type the same installation directory name for each user ID (e.g
H:\APS2000++ or H:\Program Files\APS2000++ in this case) so that setup will overwrite previous contents of this directory each time.
e. Restart the Windows for a particular user ID for changes to take effect.

Operation
APS Desktop manager appears on the screen, as soon as windows is operational.
Using APS Desktop Manager

APS Desktop Manager is a convenient and efficient way to work with APS software. APS Desktop Buttons are provided for on-line functionality while working with other applications. Please note that, for basic bilingual
functionality, the APS Desktop Manager should always appear on the screen. All the APS utilities can be loaded using this Desktop Manager. please note that except all other buttons are general purpose utilities, which can be invoked through any other windows programs.
ABOUT APS
This button provides information about the APS software like package name, version number, version date etc.
Script Indicator Button:
Script indicator button is used for toggling between English and Indian Scripts. The default script is English . By clicking this button one can select Indian script. In case of Devanagari it will display . Switching between scripts is also possible by pressing 5 key on numeric pad, while Num Lock is off.
While responding in dialogue boxes (e.g. entering the file name, typing a command in Run window etc.) indicator button should always indicate .
Select Indian Script:
Select appropriate Indian script using this button.
Select Keyboard Layout:
This button allows to select appropriate Indian keyboard layout depending on the language selected.
Keyboard Layout Viewer:
Keyboard layout viewer button displays the currently selected keyboard layout. Selecting the particular layout will automatically change the layout displayed. Detailed explanation is given under Utilities chapter.
Format Conversion Wizard:
Format Conversion Wizard is a utility to convert files from various DOS based text editors to APS format. Detailed explanation is given under Utilities
chapter.
Mega Text Conversion:
Mega text conversion is an application which provides an user friendly interface for conversion of windows based text files from other vendors format to APS format and vise-versa. Winky, Akruti, iscii, Shreelipi, Shabdratna vendors file support has been provided.
Sorting Utility:
Sorting of APS Devanagari text from any application can be done using this utility.

Chitragupt:
Text preparation in Text and Rich Text format is provided. It provides all basic facilities of text editing. One dictionary is provided for user to create word as per his requirements. Both dictionary are used for providing Devanagari equivalent to English word. Similarly English equivalent to Devanagari is provided through these dictionary. One can send E-mail in devanagari as well as can save file in HTML format. Saving text file in ISCII format in also provided. Spell Check is provided under Chitragupt.
Shabdankan:
Using Shabdankan one can type in English and the text is converted in Indian scripts depending on selected language.
The utility translates the text using the typing sequences, of which are displayed on the right side of the screen. However, a complete list can be obtained using the help menu. Any simple text file, which is typed in this sequence, can be opened in the application and is translated in the Indian script. The utility has editing options similar to that of other word editor. Using this utility user can send bilingual email.
Keypad:
This utility facilitates the user to type bilingual matter in any application using mouse.
Set Application:

Help On APS software:
This button provides On-line help for using APS desktop manager and its utilities both in English and Hindi. To view Hindi help select the required sub-menu from the Help in Hindi sub-menu.

Standard Settings for Devanagari Script
Please incorporate the settings as indicated in the following charts for obtaining correct results in Devanagri Script mode. Circled items indicate settings to be done for proper working in Indian script.
Microsoft Word 97
Click AutoCorrect (Tools menu) select AutoCorrect tab and clear the different check boxes as shown in figure # 4.1
Click AutoFormat (Format menu) click Option button and clear the various check boxes as shown in figure # 4.2
Click AutoCorrect (Tools menu) select AutoFormat As You Type tab and clear the different check boxes as shown in figure # 4.3
Click Options (Tools menu) and select Spelling & Grammer tab. In Spelling section clear Check spelling as you type circled check box. In Grammar section clear Check grammar as you type check box as shown in figure # 4.4
While viewing the document in Normal view (select Normal (View menu)), click Options (Tools menu) and select View tab and clear the Draft Font circled check box. In same View tab clear all circled check boxes under Nonprinting characters option as shown in figure # 4.5
For printing in APS fonts click Options (Tools menu) and select Print tab in same Options window and clear the Draft output check box.
Select Font (Format menu) and select Character Spacing tab. Spacing and Position must be Normal and Kerning for fonts check box must be cleared as shown in figure # 4.6
MS Word 6.0
To insert (or open) the text saved in wri, rtf or doc format or the text
converted through Format Conversion Wizard (described in APS utilities chapter) click
File... (Insert menu) and clear Confirm Conversions check box as shown in figure # 4.7

Mail Merge
To merge the MS Excel Devanagari database in MS Word document, click Font (Format Menu), select APS font and click Default. Click Mail Merge (Tools menu) to start the Mail Merge Helper. In Mail Merge Helper
window click Create, and then click Form Letters as shown in figure # 4.8. Then click Active Window button for current active document file.
Click Get Data button in Mail Merge Helper window and click Open Data Source to view the window as shown in figure # 4.9. Click select method check box to make it ON (whereas in MS Word 6.0 this check box is present as Confirm Conversion). Select the appropriate file name and click Open.
Following figure # 4.10 appears on the screen. Click Microsoft Excel Worksheet via Converter (*.xls, *.xlw) in Confirm data source list & press OK button to get the required database and then click Edit Main Document to merge the database.

Click Options (View menu) and select No wrap radio button for all tabs i.e. Text, Rich Text, Word 6, Write, Embedded tabs, for proper display as shown in figure # 4.12

Click Smart Correct (Edit menu) and clear Change straight quotes to smart quotes and Correct TWo INitials CApitals check boxes as shown in figure #4.15
Do not select any of the options (Upper Case, Lower Case, Initial Caps, Small Caps ) from Caps (Test menu).
Click Modify Style (Style menu) and select Spacing radio button. Select Normal(100%) in Text Tightness options as shown in figure # 4.16.
Lotus 123 release 5
Press F2 function key (to convert to edit mode) for entering the data directly in cell.
FoxPro
APS fonts can be viewed or printed in those commands where Font option is available. For example BROWSE, EDIT, CHANGE allows bilingual mode and LIST, DISPLAY does not allow bilingual mode.
Browsing bilingual data
Type browse command with font option (e.g. brow font 'APS-C-DV-Priyanka',20) OR
In Browse Window click Font (Table menu) and select APS font from Font list)
Above procedure must be followed in case of APPEND, EDIT, CHANGE commands.
Bilingual data can not be listed using LIST/DISPLAY command. (Font selection option is not available in LIST)
Typing bilingual strings in program
Click Font (Format menu) and select APS font from Font list box and type the strings in bilingual mode in your program.
View / Input data using SAY / GET command in bilingual mode
Select APS font in edit window as described above. In SAY/GET command specify the APS font name in Font option.
e.g. @ 5,20 say `¶ãã½ã' font "APS-C-DV-Priyanka",18 @ 5,20 say Var1 font "APS-C-DV-Priyanka",18 @ 5,20 get Var2 font "APS-C-DV-Priyanka",18
User should enter the data in Devanagari / Gujrati / or English mode by selecting the Script Indicator button appropriately.
In Logical field, data cannot be accepted in mode. Enter the data in mode only
(T/F or Y/N).
Setting APS font as default
Click Properties (Edit menu) and select APS font in Font list.
PageMaker
Character Spacing
Select Paragraph (Type menu), select Spacing button, set all Letter space parameters (Minimum, Desired, Maximum) to zero as shown in figure # 4.17
Placing a file
To place the text saved in wri, rtf or doc format or the text converted through Format Conversion Wizard (described in APS utilities chapter) select Place (File menu), select a file to be placed (e.g. c:\apsjobs\apstest) and clear
Convert Quotes check box as shown in figure # 4.18
Setting Preferences
Select Preferences, General (File menu), select More button. In More Preferences Window, clear Use typographer's Quotes check box in Text tab. Select APS font from Font list in Story Editor as shown in figure # 4.19.

a. For Placing a file select Place (File menu) and clear Convert Quotes check box.

CorelDraw
Select Type Assist (Text menu) and clear all the check boxes as shown in figure # 4.20.

This Circle marked on the figures indicate settings to be done for proper effect while working in Indian script.

Standard Operating Steps
Load the application software you want to work with (e.g. MS Word). For bilingual typing with APS:
1. Using button, select the Indian script you want to work with. 2. Using button, select the keyboard layout of your choice.
3. Select the appropriate 'Application' setting from button (e.g. ' MS Word for MS Word).
4. Select the appropriate APS font from font menu
e.g. APS-C-DV-Priyanka for Devanagari-English. (All APS font names start with APS- )
5. Confirm the toggle script button status for appropriate script for English typing
for Devanagari typing or 6. And start typing the text.
Numerals
The numerals will appear in English or Indian language depending on option selected in Fonts selection dialog box [English Numeral / Language Numeral] while installing the package.
Using APS Keyboards

Keyboard Layouts provided in this package are retained as to the original ones except few variations in some of the keyboard layouts.
Exact layout of each keyboard can be viewed through Keyboard Layout Viewer described under APS Utilities section.
Common typing sequences for all the keyboards are given in Appendix - A.

Uninstallation and Reinstallation
In case of following circumstances
a. Reload Windows due to improper working
b. Machine is affected with virus & you have to format the hard disk c. Machine formatted, due to virus.
d. Repleace hard disk requirement
First uninstall and install APS Corporate 2000++.
Uninstall
Please ensure before uninstalling :
a. APS Desktop Manager is already closed, if not exit it.
APS registration number on the machine sticker is matching with the installation
CD-Rom.
No virus protector program activated. If activated please disable Virus protector program before uninstalling APS Software.
b. Please exit all the software operating under Windows before commencing uninstallation of APS Software.
To uninstall APS software,
a. From APS Corporate 2000++ Group click APS Corporate 2000++ Uninstall. Or from control panel, Add/Remove programs select APS Corporate 2000++ to uninstall the software.
b. Select 'Yes' to continue uninstallation from the dialog box shown in figure # 6.1.

This will uninstall the files from appropriate directory. The following message as shown in figure # 6.3 will appear.

In case of Windows 95 & Windows 98 if fonts are in use the uninstallation
procedure may not be able to delete the font files and have to be deleted after APS Uninstallation as follows:
a. Load My Computer, then Control Panel and then Fonts folder b. Click View, and then choose Details menu
c. Seclect all font names starting with APS- string d. Select File and then Delete menu
e. Select KCDV-LAYOUT font (KCGJ_LAYOUT for gujrati) f. Select File, Delete menu.
Reinstall
To Reinstall the package, uninstall the package as described above & install the package as described in Installation section.

Keyboard Layout Viewer

Click button from APS Desktop Manager to load Keyboard Layout Viewer. OR select APS Keyboard Layout Viewer icon from the APS Corporate 2000++ group.
Selecting Keyboard Layout
Click button from APS Desktop Manager to select the layout from the available list.
Viewing the Character
To view a particular character in zoom mode press the appropriate key or click the mouse on that key.
Printing the Layout
Load Keyboard Layout Viewer and select desired layout. Select Print menu to print the displayed layout. In printer setup, page Orientation must be
Landscape.
Format Conversion Wizard (FCW)

FCW convert files from different Text Editors & Word Processors (like Akshar, Shabda-Ratna, Devyani, LE(ISC), Modular, Prakashak, SP(Gist) to APS Corporate Format. Text files can be converted into RTF (Rich Text Format).
Loading FCW
Click button from APS Desktop Manager to load FCW. OR select
Converting File
Select Convert (File menu).
Following screen as shown in figure # 7.3 will be displayed.

Select the appropriate format from the Source Format list by clicking the down arrow, depending on your input file text format.
The default destination directory is c:\apsjobs. It can be changed if necessary through Directory button.
The destination file name is automatically created, with extension .RTF. The converted text is in bilingual mode, the default fonts

Mega Text Conversion
This utility is used to convert other vendors data files to APS and vice versa. The format supported for conversion are Winky, ISCII (8bit iscii data GIST shell compatible) and Akruti (Office package). The text data files prepared under PageMaker, MS Word or like softwares can be converted through this utility.

To convert a file through APS Mega Text Conversion you must save the file in APS Chitragupt using Export as Mega Text Conversion file.
Steps for preparing APS Mega Text format file :
a. File to be converted for APS Mega Text format must be saved in RTF format in respective package like MS-Word, PageMaker etc.and for
spreadsheet softwares like MS-Excel, Lotus123 save the file in TXT format. b. Open the saved RTF or TXT file as the case may be in APS Chitragupt.
c. Save this document in APS Text Format using File->Export as Mega Text Conversion File
If source file is not in required format then APS Mega Text Conversion will display error message as shown below in Figure #7.5.

Source File Text Box
Type file name in Text Box which is to be converted.
Browse Button For Source File
For browsing source file you can click on Browse Button.
Destination File
This box displays the path where destination file will be saved. Your
destination file will have same name as your source file name. You can not type in this box.
Browse Button For Default Destination Directory
By clicking on this button you can specify root directory name. Your file will get stored in directory inside that root directory. Name of the
sub-directory will depend on vendor you have selected.
OK Button
After specifying input file name and selecting the Vendor name, click on OK Button for conversion process. The progress status bar at the bottom of the window will show the conversion status.
Preview of the converted file can be seen, if desired.
If converted text is not readable, either your input file format is not properly selected or the machine does not contain the proper font of source format. To confirm the input file format is selected properly you must click the
Input File Preview button
If the converted text is readable then you must have the compatible font in your hard disk to view /edit the converted text.
Exit Button
APS To Others
By clicking on this portion of the main object this part comes on the top. You can select any vendors object and click OK for converting files from APS to Other Vendors format.
Other To APS
By clicking on this portion of the main object this part comes on the top. You can select any vendors object and click OK for converting files from Other Vendors format to APS format.

Shows you online help strip by keeping mouse on respective objects
Input File Preview
Preview of specified file can be seen by clicking this button. If text is not readable, confirm the input text format and source file name specified.
For ISCII format file preview the text viewed will have matras seperated with the character and for conjuct characters it will show the first character halant & second character.
Help
By clicking on this button you can get extensive help on APS Mega Text Conversion.
Sorting Utility:
By clicking this button you can invoke the sorting utility.
Using this utility you can sort the bilingual data (Devanagari and English). The utility can sort the data from any application. The data has to be in either table format or simple tabbed text format.
To sort bilingual data:
Select the bilingual data to be sorted and copy (Ctrl+C) it to the clipboard. Invoke APS Sorting utility if not runing already. Specify the column or tab position to sort data on as shown below.

For multiple column sorting :
Decide how many column data to be sorted. Select the respective column data. Decide the order of sorting with column numbers on which data to be sorted. Specify the column seperated by comma (e.g. to sort data on 2nd, 4th
and then on 1st column type 2, 4,1 in Tab position window of APS Sorting
utility). The column numbering will start from the first selected column. You can select the order of sorting either ascending or descending. You can select the language (Hindi or Gujarati). The utility will prompt Data sorted successfullyon completion of sorting. Paste (Ctrl+V) the data from clipboard to respective application. The pasted data will be in appropriate sorting order. After pasting the matter the font has to be set again.
In MS Excel
Select the default font of spread sheet as one of the APS Hindi fonts (eg. APS-C-DV-Prakash) so that there is no neccessity of selecting font after pasting the data.
Rajbhasha and Raksha Shabdavali :
Rajbhasha and Raksha Shabdavali utility gives you hindi or english words for the respective word you enter.This utility provides search using wild cards, words starting with similar aplhabets or with common alphabets, can be search using this provision.
To search for a hindi word enter the corresponding english word in the text box as shown in Figure # 7.7, and press Enter. You can make use of wild card characters such as * & ? to obtain a list of words. Select hindi option to search hindi word for its corresponding english meaning (Confirm APS Corporate 2000++ desk top manager is loaded for typing in hindi).
For example the string a* will yield all words starting with a, a list of words having common alphabets can be retrieved by substituting the non common alphabets with ? characters.
Chitragupt:
Word processing in Text and Rich Text Format with all basic facilities, this editor comes with support for translation of text from one script to another . It has a build in dictionary for translation of text in different script. The user dictionary can be used to build word bank necessary for translation of script. The editor comes with all defaults necessary for bilingual text processing. You can send emails in devanagari. You can save file in HTML format Similarly you can save file in ISCII format also. Chitragupt provides built in spell-check utility for devanagari text.
To create a new document
1 On the File menu, click New.
2 Click the file type you want to create, click OK, and then begin typing.
3 To save the new file, click the File menu, click Save As and then type a name in File name.
To open a document
1 On the File menu, click Open.
2 In Look In, click the drive that contains the document you want to open. 3 Double-click the folder that contains the document you want to open. 4 Click the document name, and then click Open.
Note
If you do not see the document you are looking for, you can click a different file type in Type of Files, menu.
To save changes to a document
On the File menu, click Save. Note
You can also save an existing document with a new name by clicking Save As and then typing a new name in File name.
Save a copy as HTML
To save a copy of typed text or opened file in HTML format, click Files / Save a copy as HTML
Save a copy in ISCII format
To save a copy of typed text or opened file in ISCII Format Click File and Save a Copy as ISCII Text Format
To export as Mega Text Conversion file
To convert other vendors text format file using Mega Text Conversion utility you need to save that file in Mega Text Conversion format. Click this option to save the file in Mega Text Conversion format.
To convert other vendors file in APS Mega Text Conversion format. 1 Open the other vendors file in Chitragupt or copy paste the text matter in
Chitragupt from word or word pad where the original text is present.
2 Select appropriate font (CC-DV-...for...). Confirm that the matter is seen properly in Chitragupt.
3 Save the file using Export as Mega Text Conversion from file menu. 4 Run Mega Text Conversion utility to convert the file saved in Mega Text
Conversion format to appropriate vendors text format (for move details see Mega Text Conversion utility described in see...)
To Print a Document:
1 On the File menu, click Print.
To change Page Setup:
1 On the File menu, click Page Setup.
2 Make the changes you want in the Page Setup dialog box: Note :
To change printers, click Printer, and then click a printer in Name.
To change paper specifications, enter the settings you want under Paper, Orientation, and Margins.
Send E-mails in Devanagari Script
To Send Email in Devanagari script along with English: Type your message in Chitragupta editor. Select Send Email from the file menu.
Please note, MAPI compliance is essential for sending message, if not, follow instructions as shown in Figure #7.8:
If you select Yes then Attachment Message dialog box as shown in Figure #7.9 will appear.

Send E-mails in Intranet Setup
Select MS Outlook as default MAPI client by following the steps given below Select Internet Explorer icon from your Desktop.
Click right mouse button on internet explorer icon. Select Properties menu.
Click on Program tab button.
In E-mail drop down list select MS Outlook. Press OK.
Press button to access E-mail address list (e.g. Global Address List). Select a particular user name from list and press OK button.
Click Send button to send E-mail.
To undo your last action
On the Edit menu, click Undo.

1 Select the text you want to cut.
2 To remove text so that you can place it in another part of the document, click Edit, and then click Cut.
To copy text
1 Select the text you want to copy.
2 To copy text so that you can place it in another part of the document, click Edit, and then click Copy.
To paste text
1 To paste the copied or cutted text , click Edit, and then click Paste.

To select all
1 To select entire text in a document. 2 click Edit, and then click Select All.
Notes
You can cancel a selection by clicking anywhere in the document.
To search for text
1 In the document, click there from where you want to start searching. 2 On the Edit menu, click Find.
3 In Find what, enter the text you want to search for, and then click Find Next. 4 To find additional instances of the same text, continue to click Find Next.
Notes
If you have closed the Find dialog box, you can press F3 to search for more instances of the same text.
You can also search for and replace text by clicking Edit and then clicking Replace.
To search for and replace text
1 On the Edit menu, click Replace.
2 In Find what, enter the text you want to replace.

To replace all instances of the text, click Replace All.
To replace each instance of the text individually, click Find Next, and then click Replace.
To show or hide the Toolbar
On the View menu, click Toolbar. A check mark appears when the Toolbar is visible.

On the View menu, click Format bar. A check mark appears when the Format bar is visible.
Notes
The buttons on the Format bar are shortcuts for formatting text, e.g. making text bold or underlined, or changing the paragraph style. To format text, select it, and then click the appropriate button on the Format bar.
To change the way text wraps on your screen
1 In the View menu, click Wrap Word to window. Notes
The wrapping options affect only how text appears on your screen. When printed, the document uses the margin settings specified in Page Setup.
You can set different word wrap options for each of the text formats in which you can save documents.
To change a font type, style, or size
1 Select the text whose format you want to change. 2 On the Format menu, click Font.
3 Click the options you want. Notes :
You can specify the font for new text by changing the font settings before you begin to type. You can change the font for an entire document by clicking the Edit menu and then clicking Select All before clicking the Format menu and then clicking Font.
To type bilingual text you must select fonts having name standing with APS - for e.g.
APS-C-DV-Prakash etc.
To format a paragraph
1 Click anywhere in the paragraph you want to format. 2 On the Format menu, click Paragraph.
3 Enter the indentation and alignment options you want. Note :
You can define paragraph formatting for a new document by changing the format options before you begin to type.
To create a bulleted list
1 Click where you want the bulleted list to start.
2 On the Format menu, click Bullet Style, and then type your text.When you press ENTER, another bullet appears on the next line.
3 To end the bulleted list, click Bullet Style again.
Spell check hindi text
To correct Hindi Words entered in Chitragupt document, run Spell Check using button, or Click Tools/Spell Check menu or press F7 key. The following dialog box will get displayed

To check spelling of the text, select the text to be checked. When no text is selected Spell Check operation will be executed on all words from cursor position.
The words which will not be found in dictionary will be shown in highlighted attribute in Not in Dictionary window.
When the text to be spell checked gets completed Spell Check gives message

Ignore Button
Ignores the particular highlighted word.
Ignore All Button
All occurance of a particular word can be ignored.
Add Button
User can add a particular highlighted word to dictionary.
Replace Button
You can select a suggestion from suggestions list and replace it in place of highlighted word.
Replace All Button
This will replace all occurance of particular word in complete document (or selected text area.).

Ends the Spell Check program

Editing a word

Traslation Between Devanagari Language and English
To translate particular word, click the right mouse button on the word OR on the selected phrase (number of words).OR
press F5 key.
Either English or Devanagari equivalent words of selected word will be displayed in the list.
Choose the appropriate word from the list by scrolling. Choosen word or pharse will be displayed in the edit box at the bottom. You may add or delete from the choosen word in the edit box. Press Enter or click on OK button to replace the selected word.
To convert large text from English to Hindi or vice-versa
Select the paragraph or page to translate. Press the appropriate button

The large text can be converted using this option. The text will be converted word by word using dictionary. The grammer of the sentance will not be taken care off. The converted text will have attributes as that of the starting of
selected text.
To convert the text from English to Hindi.
Select the English text to be converted and press F3 or button. To convert the text from Hindi to English.
Select the Hindi text to be converted and press F4 or button.
To add / delete / modify a word to dictionary
In the event of equivalent word (either of language) not available in the
dictionary, same can be added to the dictionary. Add the corresponding word in the dictionary. Once you update the dictionary, missing words will also be converted.
To update( Add/Delete/Modify ) words to the dictionary clicking on the Dictionary Update menu the windows shown below in Figure #7.13 will

To add a word to users dictionary
Click the Add button, enter the english word and respective hindi or gujrati word and press update to save the entry.
To modify an existing word of dictionary
Click the Modify button to enter the modify mode, make changes to the hindi or gujrati word and press update to save the changes made. To cancel changes press the cancel button.
To delete an entry of word
Move to the word to delete and press the Delete button.
To find a word
Click the Find button.
The window shown below in Figure #7.14 will appear.
Type the word to find in the corresponding text box (English word in English Word text box) and press Ok button.
The word found can be modified using modify button or delete the word using delete button.
Shabdankan:
Shabdankan is a user friendly and powerful utility for those who find it difficult to type in Indian script (Devanagari). In this utility you can type in English and the text gets converted in Devanagari script depending on selected language. The translated text can be copied to clip board for pasting in to the required application. The created / edited file can be saved. The translated text can be directly sent as email through Send Mail Button.
The utility translates the text using the typing sequences some of which are displayed on the right hand side of the screen. The rest of the characters are having similar hindi represantation as that of english e.g. S à Ôã and K à ã However, a complete list can be obtained using the help menu. Any simple text file, which is typed in this sequence, can be opened in the application and is translated in the Indian script. The utility has editing options similar to that of other word editor.
The typing sequences for Hindi typing under Shabdankan is described in Appendix - C.
Steps for using other menu in Shabdankan.
File Menu
Open
To open an existing file (with default extension .eng) through this menu. On opening the file text contents are displayed in hindi and english. Shabdankan utility can be used to prepare small files and sending an email. Maximum file size you can creator open in Shabdankan is 20 KB. For typing text you must follow the chart displayed on the screen.
Opening files from other word editors
File from any text editor should be in text format (.txt). If you are using a shabdankan file, which allows .eng and .hnd formats, Use .eng extension for opening the file.
Save
This option saves the current opened file. Both English as well as the Hindi files are saved with .eng and .hnd extension, respectively. This holds good for save as option also.
The text in Hindi can be printed using this option. Exit
This Option enables you to close the application.
Edit Menu
Cut
This option allows to delete the selected text (in English ) and also the
equivalent Hindi text. If you want to copy the Devanagari equivalent text, use the Copy Language Text button.
Copy
This option enables you to copy the English text to the clipboard. This option is only enabled when something is there in the clipboard. This enables you to copy data earlier being cut as well as the Data from some other application via clipboard.
Paste
This enables you to copy data earlier being cut as well as the Data from some other application via clipboard.
Right mouse Click
When you click the right mouse in the English text box, a menu is displayed having following options,
Cut, Copy, Paste
These options are already described in the previous sections. Suggestion (F2)
When Right mouse button is clicked a suggestion Window is displayed. Select the appropriate word and double click it to insert the word at the cursor position.
F1
This key can be used to toggle between the similar sounding characters. When you press this key the next similar sounding character is replaced at the
character position. Example:
kumAr - ãì½ããÀ or kumaar - ãì½ããÀ or kUmAr - ãî½ããÀ
In the example above pressing a F1 key at u character will convert ãì to ãî and vice versa.
Copy Language Text
This button when clicked copies the language text into the clipboard which can be pasted in any other application .
Use copy language text button. Paste the data in the application you want. Ensure the correct font in the said application is used. For devanagari data select the copied text and change the font to any of the APS CORPORATE 2000++ devanagari font family.
Using other Text editor files

APS Keypad
By clicking this button you can invoke the APS Keypad utility. APS Keypad appears like a normal keyboard as shown Fig # 7.!7.

If the current mode of Desktop Manager will be English, then APS Keypad will display English characters, otherwise it will display characters corresponding to language selected (Devanagari) in Script Indicator Button .
To type Devanagari text in a particular package you must first select the package in which text to be typed.
To select a package:
Click Set Application Window from keypad button menu. Click in the application window.
User can type individual position character by simply clicking mouse on a perticular button or pressing Shift, Alt or Alt+Shift key along with a mouse
For typing in desired application software like APS Chitragupt, MS Word, PageMaker etc., you can click on Keypad button. e.g.,

Using Anglo-Nagari keyboard

This is one of the most important features of APS software. This keyboard is developed especially for Corporate segment. This keyboard is very easy to understand and operate. Devanagari character are mapped keeping synonymity with English characters. Printout of the Anglo-Nagari keyboard layout will indicate the fact.
Formation of a word in Devanagari

a. Single depression of a key except 'a', 'e', 'i', 'o', 'u', will produce a letter.
