International Student Exchange

Programme

Rollins College Provost Carol Bresnahan &

President Dr. Lewis Duncan signing a landmark MOU (2013)

The International Student Exchange Programme (ISE) provides students with the opportunity to study for one semester at JGU, and for JGU students to spend a semester abroad. ISE greatly contributes to the academic and personal development of students by expanding their horizons and providing them with an international perspective. JGU's ISE network currently includes a large no of academic institutions in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, North and South America. Exchange students may gain academic credit towards their degree where the specific requirements of both participating ISE institutions are met.

Study Abroad Programme

The Study Abroad Programme (SA) enables students to spend more than one semester abroad. For example, a landmark MOU concluded in December 2013 between JGU and Rollins College facilitates an extended period of study abroad for JSLH students at one of the USA's leading liberal arts colleges. SA programmes may lead to the award of a degree by another university where the specific academic requirements of that institution are met.

International Summer/Winter Schools

JGU in collaboration with international partner institutions, offers a range of intensive international winter and summer schools. For example, the JGU–University of Oxford Summer School in International Law and Global Governance (JOSS) is a three-week intensive residential summer course held at Somerville College, Oxford. JOSS students receive lectures from eminent Oxford Professors and experience the one-to-one Oxford tutorial system of learning.

JGU also hosts SA courses for international students at its state of the art campus. For example, in January 2013, JSIA conducted two intensive winter courses for students from Texas A&M University (USA) and the University of Melbourne (Australia) on Understanding India: Social, Political, Economic and Legal Dimensions. Intensive summer and winter SA may lead to the award of academic credit where the specific requirements are met.
