Product Overview

Interoute provide our clients with a diverse range of compute options delivered

from our 10 carrier-class data centre facilities. Leveraging our extensive and

diverse next generation IP network we put clients compute capability in the

optimal place to deliver fast and scalable services. With best of breed security

management and around the clock technical support, Interoute are ideally

placed to deliver business critical infrastructure.

Clients can choose from either dedicated, multi-tenanted or hybrid compute environments and our unique network capability allows the presentation of these resources to either be public or private. This means that our clients for example, can easily configure a private cloud solution based on dedicated hardware, or opt to utilise our multi-tenanted cloud platform (VDC).

The services application centric design is focussed on providing the foundation for supporting business critical applications. By providing full lifecycle support from installation to in life service management Interoute ensures that the chosen compute environment remains secure, robust and performance optimised, through tasks such as patching, OS hardening, tuning, backups, event and incident management.

Example Implementations

The heterogeneous solutions created utilising Interoute’s flexible compute capabilities are many and varied. The below demonstrates several popular use cases:

ICT Consolidation: The centralisation of IT into a central compute environment containing a mixture of cloud and

dedicated servers to gain the optimal blend suiting the application and business demands. Typically customers take advantage of Interoute’s datacentre and network capability by integrating the environment into a private MPLS network and using a second Interoute data centre for disaster recovery.

Web Presence: As owner, operator of a significant part of Europe’s core Internet capability, utilising compute

resources built into this fabric for public facing web environments is a popular use case. Web environments need to handle more dynamic compute demands to address peak usage periods, therefore cloud servers are typically use to meet this scaling challenge in a cost effective way.

Application/ SaaS Hosting: The hosting of a single or suite of applications either as part of a SaaS architecture or

corporate requirement is a common requirement. The ability to utilise dedicated or cloud servers to suit the application or compliancy demands ensure a flexible deployment model without physical constraints. An overlay of a database managed service is a popular option for ISV’s and corporate deployments.

Product Types

Interoute’s managed compute provides customers with the ability to choose from the two below computing factors:

Multi-Tenanted (Cloud) Compute

Our multi-tenanted cloud platform is the most dynamic way to consume Interoute’s compute capability. Delivered as managed virtual servers to our customers the hardware layer is abstracted delivering a true cloud service. Our secure and performance optimised platform ensures that each customers compute workload is isolated from other customers into a virtual datacentre meaning there is no “tax” over running on a dedicated server.
