The following section lists and describes the features in Live Meeting 2007. Features are grouped

accord-ing to the key investment areas of Live Meetaccord-ing 2007: Connected Organizations, Engaged Attendees, and

Enterprise-Class Reliability.

Description

Host collaborative meetings quickly and cost-effectively

Streamlined user experience

Large area for viewing shared documents focuses attendees on content. Participants only see tool bars relevant to their permissions and to the content being shared. When showing a video, presenter gets access to start/stop/pause controls; when sharing a document, attendees access annotation tools. Most common tasks such as controlling audio or recordings are provided in primary tools bars for easy access, less frequent tasks such as Slide Cycling are hidden in menus.

Streamlined user experi-ence for web use

Web-based client allows attendees on non-MS platforms (Solaris, Mac) to attend meet-ings. The Live Meeting 2007 web-based client was updated to reflect the new User Experience.

Single meeting client for on-premise and hosted conferencing

The Live Meeting client works with both LM service and Office Communications Server

Interactive whiteboard and annotation tools

Use new annotation tools, which include rich text, sophisticated shapes, flowcharts, and fonts and colors, on the whiteboard.

Shared notes pane Take advantage of the new always-on shared notes pane.

Train distributed employees and partners and conduct events that scale to support large audiences

Conferencing Add-in for Microsoft Office Outlook

Conferencing Add-in for Outlook allows users to easily see availability of required participants, send meeting invitations, and track responses. In addition, enables auto-matic inclusion of audio conference information, scheduling of meetings from Outlook while offline and sending of separate attendee and presenter invitations. Conferencing Add-in is integrated into the Outlook Ribbon.

Event and class registration

Track lead information and integrate data (such as attendance, registration questions, etc) through APIs with LOB applications. Registration is now tightly integrated with the core Live Meeting user experience. Prospects can now be invited via email and confir-mations will be sent as calendar items.

Public events page Easily set up ongoing marketing events and gather information about your prospects before they join the meeting via the Public Event Page Advanced testing and

grading Prepare tests, ask a variety of styles of questions (fill in the blanks, true/ false, single-select, multi-select, etc) and provide individual results to participants.

No special hardware needed for recording and recordings are hosted by the LM service, easily accessible to authorized viewers. In addition recordings can be made and stored locally on the computer of the presenter

Microsoft event services Microsoft Event Services available for customers who want professionally managed

events.

Meeting reports

Attendance reports allow event coordinators to view attendee details. Additional reports include meeting and recording Reports, trends reports, meeting attendance and poll reports, and storage management reports.

Meeting content storage and management tools

Meeting content remains available for a fixed period of time in the online meeting room to support ongoing and recurring meetings. New storage management tools allow for search and removal of content.

Programming APIs A broader set of APIs allow for integration with Learning Management Systems other Line

of Business applications.

Native live webcam video

Show live webcam video of meeting participants alongside their presentation in one of two display modes. Audio-switched mode dynamically moves among participants and shows the attendee who is currently speaking. Alternately, you can manually select the video image of a particular attendee. Picture-in-picture preview shows the currently connected local video source.

Integrated media experi-ence

New user interface brings together live and recorded video, chat, slide and application sharing, VoIP and PSTN audio, and audience feedback tools.

Integrated PowerPoint

viewer Full fidelity PowerPoint viewing including animations and transitions.

Drag and drop upload to view a wide range of document file types

Drag and drop uploading makes importing and viewing of documents easy. Live Meeting supports the import of wide range of document file types (any document that can be printed including Office, Project, Visio, OneNote, HTML, PDF and more) so that participants can bring all relevant content to the online meeting

Panoramic video by Mi-crosoft Office RoundTable

Show a 360-degree panoramic video of everyone in the conference room when used with a RoundTable device. Connect several individual participants with their team as-sembled in a conference room. Alternatively, connect teams in two conference rooms.

PSTN and Two-way VOIP audio integration

LM provides the two-way VoIP audio capability Attendees can use their desktop phone or speakers and microphone on their PCs to participate in the audio conference. All audio participants are seamlessly connected and can talk during the meeting regard-less of their audio choice. Presenters do not need to worry about which mechanism a participant chose to join since all audio controls are available through a single control tool bar.

Audio conference call controls

Live Meeting audio conference call controls provide the deepest integration with the audio providers, that have been certified by our Audio Integration team. This allows users the ability to: dial-out directly to participant’s phone; mute/unmute telephone audio; eject participants; lock conference; audio conference call roster.

Speaker indicator A Speaker indicator will appear on the attendee list so that you know exactly which VoIP

participant is speaking

Handout distribution Scan handouts with Microsoft Forefront and distribute them before and during meetings

in their native file format

Virtual Breakout Rooms

Break out into discussion groups for one-on-one training or more subject matter drill down. Bring back class materials to main session. Instructors can roam between the rooms and make broadcast announcements to address students across the various breakouts.

Cybertrust & SAS70-certified data centers provide secure content storage. Cy-bertrust, a leading independent authority, certified that the Live Meeting service meets the requirements of the Cybertrust Application Certification and Service Provider Certification security assurance program, and is permitted to display the Cybertrust Certified Seal.

Service Provider Certification includes regular (quarterly and annual) Perimeter Risk Assessment, Internal Risk Assessment, On-Site Data Collection, Email Filter Check, War Dial Assessment. Application Certification includes regular (quarterly and annual) Process and Management review, Functional Testing, Source code review.
