LONDON BATH

An amazing place to learn.

SBE is located about 90 minutes west of London in the charming countryside of Bath. There’s history here with our Roman Baths and some of the country’s most stunning architecture. But don’t think for a minute that we’re not cutting edge. Our city is a centre of innovation with a vibrant business community that supports the entrepreneurial spirit. Bath, along with our neighbour city Bristol, is spawning a new generation of tech companies, incubators, and makerspaces that invite entrepreneurs to fix, invent, modify, and make.

We’re part of something

really, really great.

SBE is the newest global venture within Bath Spa University, a leading institution for creativity, culture, and enterprise in the UK. Let’s invest in something

great, together.

At SBE, we know that creating a new venture requires more than vision and a solid plan — it takes capital. Our commitment to fostering risk-takers and game changers includes funding four ventures annually — one for each of our four specialisms —through the Venture Lab. Every student is eligible, so get to it and invest your time, energy and brainpower in a great idea. We might just invest in it, too.

SPECIALISMS THIS IS HOW BUSINESS IS GETTING DONE

Enterprise Innovation

Game-changing ideas can take flight anywhere, even inside big companies. Learn how to form entrepreneurial ventures within established firms that have the resources and vision to bring cutting-edge concepts to life. All the while, you’ll develop valuable skills such as modeling cash flow, sales and negotiation, and how to take a new product from lofty idea to reality.

Design Management

Even the most groundbreaking of ideas can fall flat if they’re not backed by a rock-solid design strategy. Experience forming a genuine connection with your audience through meaningful design, and see how great ideas and brands are embraced and loved thanks to human-centred design. You’ll participate in team projects that immerse you in the phases of discovery, design, and delivery.

Emerging Technology

Today’s technology is already obsolete. So how do you turn an inconceivable idea into reality? Learn how successful entrepreneurs are capitalizing on the unmet demand for products and services that don’t even exist yet. You’ll work hard to understand the relationship between technology designers and users, and learn how to implement a design process from concept to pitch, and beyond.

Social Entrepreneurship

Want to innovate for the greater good? Your ideas can make the world a better place, so be the change you wish to see. Examine how mission-driven

businesses effectively create social value and embrace sustainability as a core strategy. You’ll develop exceptional leadership skills while learning how to launch, manage, and scale a successful social enterprise.

THE ENTREPRENEURIAL MANAGER

Discover what makes innovative enterprises tick, and learn how to seek out opportunities and manage growth and risk in your entrepreneurial pursuits.

NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Explore every phase of the product design process while you examine how intelligent design can be a driver of positive social change in the world.

DESIGN STRATEGY

Learn how to harness innovation through a concrete marketing strategy, and examine how leaders of some of the biggest companies encourage adoption of new technologies.

DESIGN FOR LIFE

You’ll research approaches and methodology to sustainable design while learning how to execute solid design research strategies.

PROBLEM AND MARKET DISCOVERY

Investigate how to assess market conditions for new products, and see and experience the technological creation process in action.

USER EXPERIENCE AND ANALYSIS

Explore how visual communication, product systems, and environments affect the user experience, and learn how analytics such as usability testing can make or break an idea.

CHANGE AND PUBLIC POLICY

Learn social value in a public policy context and explore entrepreneurial strategies at work in the public, government, and non-profit sectors.

PRODUCTS AND COMMUNITIES

Learn how to launch, manage, and scale successful social enterprises while you consider factors such as law, sustainability, and human-centred design.

You’ve got big ideas. And we’ve

got four specialisms and an

outstanding faculty to help

transform those concepts into

something great. It’s all wrapped

up in a fast-paced, three-year

degree that will have you out

in the real world and making a
