transmitters.

Armin+ t'e Security System

To arm the system, exit the vehicle, close all doors, then press and release the / button. The siren will 8chirp8 twice and the par!ing lights will flash twice, indicating the system is armed. The doors will also loc! at this time )if euipped and connected*. The status indicator will turn on. fter 2 seconds, it will blin! steadily, once per second.

(f the siren chirps and the par!ing lights 8flash only once, this indicates that the 9system has detected that the vehicle courtesy light is on, or that an entrance is not closed securely. 3hec! to see that all vehicle entrances are closed securely. Once all entrances are secured )and the courtesy light is off*, the system will chirp - flash again. The system is now fully armed.

Disarmin+ t'e Security System

To disarm the system, press and release the &(+/ button. The siren will chirp and the par!ing lights will flash once, and the doors will unloc! )if euipped and connected*. The courtesy light will turn on for 1 minute, or until the vehicle is started.

(f the siren chirps four times when disarming, this indicates that the system was triggered in your absence. )The status indicator will also flash rapidly.* #erform the following operation to determine the protected one that triggered the system9

4our security system is euipped with a lite$touch impact detector, which causes the system to emit a warning chirp if light impact to the vehicle is detected. (t may be necessary at times to temporarily disable the lite$touch feature, especially in areas where severe vibration can cause false alarms.

• ;ithin  seconds, press the / button again. The system will respond with three ):* chirps

and three light flashes, indicating that the lite$touch feature is disabled. This procedure disables the sensor for only one arm-disarm cycle. The sensor will be enabled the next time the alarm system is armed.

To activate the Trun! elease output, press and hold the &(+/ button. The security system will disarm if it is armed, and the vehicle trun! - hatch will open.

#ressing any two buttons together on the remote transmitter activates the #anic feature, sounding the siren and flashing the par!ing lights. #anic is designed to bring attention to the vehicle and

surrounding area, warding off a would$be intruder. #ress any button on the remote transmitter to turn off the #anic alarm.

&'en Your Security System is ,ri++ered

The security system will trigger if one of the following events occurs while it is armed9

• ny protected entrance is opened • The vehicle ignition is turned on

• The vehicle is "olted hard enough to signal the impact detector

Once the alarm is triggered, the alarm sounds its 12db siren and flashes the vehicle par!ing lights for :0 seconds. The system will then re$arm, awaiting the next intrusion attempt.

,'e Interior Status Indicator

The +tatus (ndicator is a high$intensity red light mounted in a visible location on the vehicle

dashboard. This red light gives a visual indication of the alarm system's state of operation. >ote the chart below9

2alet Mode

%alet /ode is used to temporarily prevent the alarm system from automatically disabling the vehicle starter )and ignition, if the optional vehicle immobilier is connected*, and stop the alarm from arming when the utomatic rming option is enabled on your security system. This is useful when servicing your vehicle.

• ;ith the vehicle running or with the ignition on, press the &(+/ button on the remote

transmitter. The status indicator will flash twice, indicating the system is in %alet mode. Once the ignition is turned off, the status indicator will flash once every 1-2 second.

,o e(it 2alet mode, press any button on the remote transmitter.

3ote0 s a security measure, the security system will automatically exit %alet mode if the vehicle

ignition is turned on and off more than five )* times.

System Maintenance

C'an+in+ t'e Remote ,ransmitter Battery

The 12$volt al!aline battery supplied in your remote transmitter should last approximately one year, depending on usage. ;hen the battery begins to wea!en, you will notice a decrease in range, or the distance from your vehicle that your remote transmitter will operate. ?ollow the instructions below to change the remote transmitter battery.

1. (f there is a small phillips screw on the bac! of your remote transmitter, use a small

screwdriver to remove the screw. #ry off the bac! of the transmitter and expose the battery. 2. emove the old battery and replace with a new one <e sure to observe the )A* and )$* signs in

the battery compartment.

:. eplace the case bac!ing and screw )if euipped*, then test the remote transmitter. It is not necessary to re-!ro+ram t'e remote transmitter after c'an+in+ t'e battery1

Addin+ Remote ,ransmitters to Your System

4our security system has the ability to operate from up to four )7* remote transmitters. ?ollow these instructions to add a remote transmitter to your system.

2. ;ithout starting the vehicle, turn the ignition O>, O??, then O>, at 1-2$second intervals. fter two )2* seconds, the status indicator will begin flashing for 3ode ntry. ?ollow the 3ode ntry #rocedure. (f the correct code is entered, the siren will chirp twice, indicating entry into the Transmitter #rogramming /ode.

:. ;ait  seconds. #ress the / button on the remote transmitter to be programmed. The siren will chirp once, indicating that the system has 8learned8 that transmitter.

7. epeat step : for any additional remote transmitters.

. xit the Transmitter #rogramming /ode by turning the vehicle ignition on, then off. Test all remote transmitters to ensure that they wor! properly.

Deletin+ Lost or Stolen Remote ,ransmitters from Your System

(f one of your remote transmitters is lost or stolen, follow these instructions IMMEDIA,ELY to

remove the transmitter code from your system.

1. /a!e sure that you have all remaining remote transmitters available.

2. nter the transmitter programming mode by following steps 1 and 2 under dding emote Transmitters to 4our +ystem )above*.

remote transmitter four )7* times, pausing at least five seconds in between each press. /a!e sure that the siren chirps each time you press the / button.

remote transmitter two )2* times, pausing at least five seconds in between each press. /a!e sure that the siren chirps each time you press the / button.

c. If you 'a.e t'ree remainin+ remote transmitters, press the / button on the first

remote transmitter two )2* times, then press the / button on the other two remote transmitters once. #ause at least five seconds in between each press. /a!e sure that the siren chirps each time you press the / button.

7. ;hen you are finished, the lost or stolen remote transmitter will no longer operate your system.

Code Entry "rocedure

This security system utilies a secret code for adding or deleting remote transmitters, changing system options and disarming the alarm if the remote transmitter fails to operate. The 7 digit code should be written on the front of this manual by your installer (f not the code is found on a stic!er on the bac! of the alarm module <elow is the procedure for entering the code.

The receiver inside your vehicle security system and the remote control transmitters are designed together to have an average operating range of 0 feet during ideal conditions. lthough at times you may experience range greater than that, there may be occasions when range is less than normal.

(f your remote transmitter fails to operate, the system can be disarmed using the alarm code on the front of this manual. ?ollow the procedure below9
