There are 2 forms of examination available: ACADEMY GRADE and PERFORMANCE GRADE 1. ACADEMY GRADE EXAMINATION:

Consists of:

1. A selection of rudiments chosen by the examiner, to be played from memory. 2. Three pieces to be played.

Two of the pieces must be chosen from the current Percussion Academy repertoire, the third piece may be either from the current Percussion Academy repertoire or a substitute piece of apprpriate standard.

3. Supporting tests (as outlined on facing page). 2. ACADEMY PERFORMANCE EXAMINATION:

Consists of:

4 pieces only to be played.

Three of the pieces must be chosen from the current Percussion Academy repertoire, the fourth piece may be either from the current Percussion Academy repertoire or a substitute piece of appropriate standard.

No supporting tests are required for performance grade examinations. SUBSTITUTE PIECE:

All exams: a 'free choice' piece of the appropriate standard may be

substituted for one of the above pieces.

The candidate must bring to the exam the original music plus a copy for the use of the examiner. Photocopies will be destroyed

at the conclusion of the exam.
