Sunday Readings
Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time September 26th
R 1 -
Gn 2:18-24The LORD God said: "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a suitable partner for him." So the LORD God formed out of the ground various wild animals and various birds of the air, and he brought them to the man to see what he would call them;
whatever the man called each of them would be its name. The man gave names to all the cattle, all the birds of the air, and all wild animals; but none proved to be the suitable partner for the man.
So the LORD God cast a deep sleep on the man, and while he was asleep, he took out one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. The LORD God then built up into a woman the rib that he had taken from the man. When he brought her to the man, the man said:
"This one, at last, is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh;
this one shall be called 'woman, '
for out of 'her man’ this one has been taken."
That is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, and the two of them become one flesh.
R 5 , 7 , 9 :
PS128: May the Lord bless us all the days of our lives.
R 11 :
PS128: May the Lord bless us all the days of our lives.
R 2 -
Heb 2:9-11Brothers and sisters: He "for a little while" was made
"lower than the angels, " that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
For it was fitting that he, for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many children to glory, should make the leader to their salvation perfect through suffering. He who consecrates and those who are being consecrated all have one origin. Therefore, he is not ashamed to call them “brothers.”
G -
Mk 10:2-16The Pharisees approached Jesus and asked, "Is it lawful for a husband to divorce his wife?" They were testing him. He said to them in reply, "What did Moses command you?" They replied, "Moses permitted a husband to write a bill of divorce and dismiss her." But Jesus told them, "Because of the hardness of your hearts he wrote you this commandment. But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate." In the house the
disciples again questioned Jesus about this. He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her; and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery."
And people were bringing children to him that he might touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this he became indignant and said to them,
"Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it." Then he embraced them and blessed them, placing his hands on them.

P F
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Only begotten Son of God, born of the Father, before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered, died, and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the Prophets.
I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Communion 5pm, 7am, 9am:
One Love Released Bob Frenzel/Kevin Keil Refrain
One bread, one body, one cup, one call, one faith, one Spirit present in us all.
One prayer, one blessing, one hope, one peace, one church, one people, one love released.
1. Is not this bread we share, the body of our Lord?
Is not this wine we drink, the blood of Christ outpoured?
2. I am the bread of life, eat and you shall live. To those who share this meal, my strength I’ll always give.
3. I am the living bread, as manna from the sky.
This bread I give to you, that you may never die.
4. No one will come to me, unless our God has led.
And I shall raise them up, raise them from the dead!

St. Simon the Apostle Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time October 3, 2021
Dear Parishioners,
A few people have asked about bringing back Eucharistic Adoration to Tuesday evenings; before the pandemic, our normal Eucharistic Adoration began after the 8:15am Mass on Tuesdays and concluded at 8pm with benediction. When things began to re-open, Eucharistic Adoration started again on Tuesdays after the 8:15am Mass, however, we now conclude adoration with the Divine Mercy chaplet at 3pm, which is usually finished by 3:30pm.
Beginning with the first Tuesday in October, we will offer a Holy Hour at 6pm here at St. Simon parish, a chance to spend some time in prayer with Our Lord for those of us who can’t make the 3pm closing of adoration.
On the first Tuesday of every month, Adoration will be offered, in addition to our normal time every Tuesday, beginning at 6pm in church; then around 6:30pm we will pray the Divine Mercy chaplet, and conclude the Holy Hour with benediction at 7pm.
I hope many of us can take advantage of this opportunity on the first Tuesday of every month and be able to spend some quality time with our God. Wishing you a healthy and holy week! St. Simon the Apostle pray for us!
Sincerely, Fr. Brad

On October 1, we celebrated the Feast of St. Therese of Lisieux, also called “The Little Flower” and St. Therese of the Child Jesus. St. Therese was a Carmelite nun who longed to be a missionary. Her poor health, however, prevented it. Instead she devoted her time to prayer and service to her community. She died at the young age of 24. She wrote extensively in her short life and has been named a doctor of the Church (one of only 4 females in Church history). There are several videos on FORMED on her life. Below is a link to one of these.
