B. Objectives
1. Summary of the main learning outcomes for students enrolled in the course.
This course is designed to provide the student with an introduction to financial accounting basics and procedures, and emphasis is placed on the study of the accounting system and the financial accounting cycles of service organizations and merchandising.
2. Briefly describe any plans for developing and improving the course that are being implemented.
The departmental research committee is underway to keenly pursue the research activity in the department. The research on application of tools and techniques not only expand and enrich the class room environment but also leads to new model building approach to the evaluation of the course. For developing and improving,
the course, would be updated the content periodically and refer latest editions books & references.

a. Knowledge
(i) Description of the knowledge to be acquired:
1. This course prepares students with a comprehensive introduction, meaning and
definition to principles of financial accounting, objectives, concepts and conventions, it also encourages students to put these concepts and skills into practice Identify & Discuss the different types accounting information users
2. After studying this course, students are expected to improve their basic
Knowledge about financial accounting, and effective Understanding about Accounting Systems and terminologies generally used in financial accounting.
3. Through this course, students would be able to handle accounting practice
practically, by getting the expertise knowledge of transactions, double effects of transactions, procedure of recording and summarize accounting transactions and posting process in ledger and its balances.
4. In addition to that, this course specifically helpful to know the procedure
preparing Trial Balance, Income Statement and Financial Statement.
5. Overall, the students would be able to recognise importance of Financial
Statements and Knowledge about Accounting Cycle which is practically serves the purpose of Service organization and Merchandising.

Learning activities may include lectures, presentation and team efforts. Students are expected to read the textbooks or other assigned reading outside of and before each class, and to participate in the critical evaluation of the material through small-group
and class discussion.
