The Koninklijke Belgische Snelschaatsfederatie (KBSF) in collaboration with the IJsschaatsclub De Schaverdijn shorttrack Hasselt have the honor and pleasure to announce that the StarClass Hasselt will be held on 30th November – 2nd December 2012.
The venue of this event will be the ice rink:
Bloso-centrum Hasselt De Schaverdijn, Gouverneur Verwilghensingel 13, B-3500 Hasselt (Belgium) The event will be organised in accordance with the 2012 regulations of the International Skating Union, the “StarClass Rules and Regulations 2012-2013 and the conditions included in this announcement.
Entries:
Entries can be made by the club of the respective athlete or by the Member of the International Skating Union.
In the case of an unmanageable number of entries reductions can be made by the organisers to-gether with the Coordination Group. In this respect the total number of skaters in all categories per club may be limited and/or the number of clubs may be limited. Principles like global repre-sentation, regional representation and first come first serve shall be applied.

All entries must be accompanied of sufficient documentation of the performance in Mass Start Competitions and all requirements of the ISU Regulations must be fulfilled. (insurance, minimum age to complete in a senior competition etc.).
All teamleaders are very urgently requested to inform the Organizers immediately of any changes upon departure from their home-town, on Thursday, November 29th at the very last.
Competitors must be present in Hasselt at the latest at 10.00 a.m. on Friday or the Organisers must have received documented proof that the competitors are in transit and will arrive in due time for the competition.
Entry fee:
An Entrance fee of no more than € 10,- must be paid to the Organisers for each accredited person, e.g. for every athlete and for every coach/teamleader. However per club one coach/teamleader is able to attend free of entry fees. The warrant for the helmet covers is € 10,- per club.
Conditions of contest:
The qualifying schedule on each distance shall be based on an “All Final System” in all categories. The All Final System is used in order to guarantee a minimum of races to all participants. The Or-ganisers reserve the right to change the programme due to unforseen circumstances. All
provisions for penalties and sanctions are to be found in the memorandum for the season 2012-2013 and should be followed carefully and made known to all competitors.

The time limit to be entitled to start in the StarClass category and the Junior categories is listed in the Regulations for StarClass Competitions.

The participating teams are responsible for their own meals and accommodations. Small meals are available for a reduced price at the ice rink. A list of hotel accommodations is included as an addendum. A special hotel rate will be offered by the organisation for early subscribers see the addendum.
Track:
The track is an artificial refrigerated indoor ice surface with the measures of 30 x 60 meters, pro-tective padding will cover the boards. The standard track 111,12 meters to the lap with measured curves of 8,50 meters and there will be 7 markers used to establish the curve. The length of the straigth is 28,85 meters. Besides the original track there will be 4 tracks set up to preserve good ice conditions. For all tracks one finish line will be used.
Award of prizes:
Prize for the first, second and third classes in the final results for each category (ladies & men). During award ceremonies, the skaters should be in club or National track suits.
Medical assistance:
A medical doctor and paramedical personnel will be present at the competition days. An ambu-lance will be on standby in case of need.
It is the sole responsibility of each Member, on behalf of its participating club, to ensure or provide medical and accident Insurance for their athletes. Proof of such shall be requested by the
Organising Committee. (see ISU Rule 119) Liability:
In accordance with ISU Rule 119, the Organising Committee assumes no responsibility with res-pect to medical, bodily or personal injury or property loss or damage sustained or caused in con-nection with this Competition.
