a teacher for groups in singing together/community art; Also a a trainer for ‘Ondernemingsraden’ (works councils) in Holland by the GBIO;

WORKING FOR INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS: debate, culture, connecting youth • Amnesty International Holland
1996-‐now. Performed on Amnesty regional and national congresses.
2008 I recorded a CD for Amnesty with repertoire of the composer Carlos Guastavino who was for a period prisoner during the Videla military government, this CD (3000 exempl.) was a gift from me to Amnesty at the occasion of my 50th birthday.
The presentation of this took place in March 2008 in the Lloyd Hotel Amsterdam together with a meeting for transgenders. The presentation was organized by Amnesty dep. Press and Projects. With enormous great help of Mrs. Garance Reus, Senior Director Campaign
Amnesty Holland, lots of media payed attention to this project. 2008-‐2010: lectures & lecture recitals for Amnesty in the whole country, also on
manifestations, organized together with all the regional departments of Amnesty 2008: organized an event at Theatre De Purmaryn Pumerend (North of Holland) with themes like tolerance and liberty with the support of young people (age 14 – 24 years old) and their participation in this event around music, literature and poems of artists in times of military regimes. Organization: Amnesty North Holland Mrs. Nienke de Vries and myself
2009: organized an event with the theme “Tolerance, Liberty, Dignity” in Bloemendaal together with Amnesty, the major of Bloemendaal Mr. Wim de Gelder and the Dutch writer Arthur Umbgrove
2009: with the department ‘education’ of Amnesty headquarter Amsterdam Mr. Eric Gerzon I organized a meeting/debate with 10 young people from all kind of nations (Armenia, Suriname, Afghanistan, Morocco, Brazil, Holland), all kind of education levels (college-‐ VMBO), age 13-‐20 years old, to discuss the meaning of Amnesty, the thematical program of Amnesty and more important of the reputation of Amnesty in these group of young people… 2009: on request of the department ‘education’ I wrote a big plan for Amnesty dedicated to the youth/students. Amnesty has a problem reaching this category of people. I presented a book to Amnesty Mr. Gerzon and Mrs. Reus. However, due to internal reorganization in the future, this plan, well received by Mrs. Reus and Mr. Gerzon, could not be realized yet.
• Amnesty International France
2008: as a former citizen of Paris (studied and lived in Paris from 1984-‐1988) and knowing some of the problems of Paris in certain arrondissements, I presented the CD also in France and offered 1000 CD’s to the Amnesty Shop Paris. Had a meeting with Amnesty France Mrs. Sylvie Haurat and Mr. Laurent Moyet dep. Campaign and Events
2009: the beginning of the awareness that I must change my professional and working life: Organizing together with Mrs. Sylvie Haurat and Mr. Laurent Moyet two big cultural events in
Paris in the 17th and 18th arrondissement with a youth theatre group ‘Cie Gaby Sourire’,
directed by Mrs. Sylvie Haggaï. Youth age 13-‐17 years old were asked by me to set up a theatre program around my CD with the themes ‘Tolerance, Liberté’. The young people made their own regie, their own texts, their own setting. Working with them was my eye-‐opener. Nationalities of this group: Algerian, Moroccan, Vietnamese, French. The texts, made by the young people, were full of engagement and involvement. Working with a kind of project like this changed my future perspective and future work… here I am!
• Model United Nations MUN
2008: was invited to tell about artists who lived in serious dangerous political situations at the national MUN Congress 2008 in Haarlem. I followed the whole event (a complete
weekend) from A to Z…and was astonished and happily surprised how young people debated (sometimes a true example for ‘The Hague’…) and I participated in the debate several times, just to inform how they think/react/what is on topic for them. Learned a lot!!!!
WORKING IN EVENT ORGANIZING, MANAGEMENT, REDACTION, ACQUISITION
• 1993-‐2004: Cristofori Amsterdam/NL/big and prestigious cultural centre in Amsterdam
Centre. My job there: Manager Cultural Events & Organization. Events as the famous ‘Prinsengracht Concert’, the Grachten Festival, the Jewish Music
characters, redaction of the cultural program, multi-‐cultural programs for the Amsterdam
youth, acquisition of musicians, business AND public… In this company I took up loads of experience on a high level in organizing, communicating,
representing, and executing work aspects. WORKING AS A TRAINER/COACH
1995-‐1997: for the GBIO Gemeenschappelijk Begeleidings Instituut Ondernemeningsraden ( a dutch bureau subsidized by Dutch government in projects for Working Council) I worked for working councils from several cities (Amsterdam), ‘Management Leergangen Amsterdam’, for ‘De Narwal’ in Wassenaar (centre for training & education for working councils in a more creative and personal non-‐ conventional way), for Buro B&O ‘Buro Begeleiding & Opleiding’ Amsterdam. Every job there was communicated as following: create a good atmosphere in this group as a base
for working together. I used all kinds of art/cultural elements, movement, awareness as a source.
VOLUNTEER
1983-‐1994: COC, Dutch association representing the needs and wishes of gays and lesbians, always attracts my attention, being gay myself and having personal experiences of violence and
discrimination in this perspective, unfortunately! Worked at the coffee bar at the Rozenstraat also to hand over information about gay life and gay problems to the public
1982-‐1984: evening-‐ and night work in the gay scene of Amsterdam together with Father Jan van Kilsdong (Father for students, ‘Studentenpastoraat’) to talk with gay and lesbian young people in gay bars about matters like coming out, violence, safety, and identity. But mainly: to talk about the danger of AIDS (in those days the new danger…) and to distribute condoms as I did in several gay bars.
1994 and 1995: with my employer Cristofori and organizer René van de Leest in my free time organizing the AIDS RENDEZ-‐VOUS at Dam Square Amsterdam with concerts, dinners, dance parties etc.
1996-‐now: helping Amnesty International in my own region
2010-‐ : participation in a social project of the Hans van Mierlo Instituut of D66 in The Hague
