KEY CLUB
The Key Club is the oldest and largest organization for high school students. It is a student-led organization that teaches about
leadership through community service. The local Ashland Kiwanis club sponsors the Hanover High club and communicates frequently with our members about service projects in the community.
Some examples of the types of projects we participate in are:
*HHS tutoring, Ashland Holiday Parade, UNICEF collection, School blood drive, Adopt a Soldier program, Mechanicsville bowl-a-thon, Atlee Little League
concession stand, SPCA drive, Clothing/Coat drive, Henry Clay Elementary “Roots and Shoots” (gardening), Ashland Train Day, etc.
Sponsors: Mr. Long and Mrs. Hall
Tell-A-Peer
Peer Mediation is a program that allows students to help their peers with specific academic and social issues before they are
referred to school administrators. A successful program positively affects the school by assisting students in solving minor conflicts.
In order to be a peer mediator, students must fill out an
application, obtain letters of recommendation from teachers and sit in an interview in the spring. If you are interested in becoming a mediator, please see Mr. Mercer, Mr. Connolly or Mrs. Hall.
