2012/13 continuing professional development
programme for neuro-rehabilitation
Life Rehabilitation is a specialised healthcare service dedicated to treating and rehabilitating
clients who have become acutely disabled by a stroke, major trauma, brain injury, spinal cord
injury, or by complex orthopaedic, neurological or other medical conditions. Life
Rehabilitation forms part of the Life Healthcare Group, which is a JSE-listed hospital operator
with more than 60 private acute bed hospitals in South Africa.
Since its inception in 1997, Life Rehabilitation has grown to become the largest provider of
acute rehabilitation services in South Africa and Africa as a whole with seven centres, a total
of 255 beds and more than 400 healthcare and rehabilitation professionals including some of
the most respected acute rehabilitation doctors and therapists in the country.
All seven facilities are custom built or refurbished and equipped with modern equipment to
suit the specific needs of all our acute rehabilitation clients and to meet legal criteria laid
down by the Department of Health.
Life Rehabilitation is still the only group accredited ISO-9001:2008 rehabilitation network in
South Africa, evidence that our quality standards meet international criteria.
As part of our commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) in the field of
rehabilitation in South Africa, we offer a number of educational activities in this specialised
field. This year, we continue to focus on specialist skills training workshops, presented by
recognised experts in the field. The events are designed to lay a theoretical framework and
build practical skills that practitioners can utilise in developing and consolidating their own
fields of practice.
our commitment to continuing professional development
We are committed to offering expert, interdisciplinary rehabilitation-related CPD courses to our colleagues, in the interest of developing this exciting field of practice. We look forward to your participation in our learning activities for 2012/13.
We present an opportunity for skills development and detailed topic exploration, discussion on current issues in the field, as well as an opportunity to network with professionals having similar interests.
Our programme this year comprises one and two day workshops. The cost of the workshops varies. Please contact the unit directly with the
costs and banking details.
details
All events are CPD accredited and CPD certificates will be presented to all attendees at the end of each event. The final detailed
programme and registration form will be available from the contact person at the venue six weeks prior to each event. All of our CPD activities include refreshments.
registration procedure
Please liaise with the venue’s contact person to confirm whether places are available, and to make a booking. Once you have booked your place, you should make payment directly into the bank account, and fax proof of payment to the contact person for the event.
No places are confirmed until proof of payment has been received. We are regrettably unable to accept payment at the event. Registration will be confirmed once registration details and proof of payment has been received. Participants are encouraged to register early as places are limited. Bookings close two weeks prior to the event or earlier, if capacity has been reached.
DISCLAIMER
Every attempt is made by Life Rehabilitation to align the programme topics with the current trends in the field of rehabilitation medicine in South Africa. However, the views expressed by our workshop presenters do not necessarily reflect those of Life Rehabilitation.
