The acronym DIY has become so popular that it needs no explanation. Super stores like Michaels Craft Store, Joann Fabrics &... Crafts, and Hobby Lobby have become supply destinations for crafters nationally. Even Home Depot and Lowes have jumped on the bandwagon and hold crafting DIY classes at their stores. Apps and websites are everywhere, along with Pinterest and instructional videos on social media.

What is the next up and coming strategy to effective crafting? Retreats. Craft Escapes are designed to give those who live locally and afar a way to retreat from home so they can learn, shop and create.

These series of events take place at convenient locations close to vacation destinations in Florida. By having these events at resorts and hotels in the area, the hotels will offer group rates and discounts to guests of the Craft Escape, allowing them to spend a day or two learning, shopping and

creating while also taking a day trip to the beach or to one of Orlando’s many theme parks.

There are three components to our events. 1) Learn – a series of classes are offered at staggered times, allowing guests of the Craft Escape to

choose what they would like to make and take with them during that time. 2) Shop – every event has a vendor area for the Craft Expo. This is an opportunity for professional crafters to highlight their products, as well as provide supplies for those participating in the other components of the

event. Many craft businesses struggle with selling their products, even when using sites like eBay and Etsy. Here we bring their audience to them, and most times for two full days. 3) Create – a large area of the convention space is utilized for what is called a “Crop”. Hundreds of guests get

together, share ideas and supplies, and create for hours – even overnight! The best part about this component are the friends created!

All vendor booths must be reserved in advance. No booths will be held without paying in full. Assignment of vendor space will be at the discretion of The Crafty Dreamers and the vendor must exhibit within the space provided. There is no “craft” exclusivity and we welcome all crafting businesses. We also hold the right to refuse any particular business from vending at an event. A vendor may cancel this agreement upon the receipt of written notification to The Crafty Dreamers, however no refunds will issued. Vendors will be notified within 10 days of receipt of the registration form of acceptance to the event. If vendor is not accepted, all fees will be refunded. The Crafty Dreamers DO NOT SUPPLY POWER FOR USE AT THE EVENT. If you require power, please indicate on form; pay additional $50 for electric access.

All power cords used by the vendor must be securely taped to the ground to avoid accidents. Vendors MUST SUPPLY OWN DUCT TAPE TO SECURE CORDS. Vendor agrees to hold blameless the promoter, Craft Escapes, its employees, volunteers, officials, principals and guests from all liability of loss or damage caused to person or property for any cause whatsoever. Vendor shall indemnify Craft Escapes against all liability or expenses arising out of any claim or injury, damage to any person or property, together with all cost in connection with the defense thereto, including attorney’s fees. It is the responsibility of each vendor to collect and pay their own sales tax from sales taken in during our events. Load-in times differ per event and Vendors will be notified of set up and break down times. No items may be left unattended. All Vendors must remain open during the event hours (Typically Saturday 10AM-4PM and Sunday 10AM – 3PM) Vendors are required to clean –up their space after the event.
