Terrace’s cloud consulting practice is focused on the Microsoft Azure platform. We assist clients with developing new cloud solutions and migrating existing on premises applications to the cloud and/or hybrid cloud architecture. Terrace has extensive experience designing, developing, deploying and maintaining Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS cloud technology solutions. Our work started in 2009 and continues through today. A summary of recent project experience follows.

Accela Government Software
Accela makes governments easier, faster and more accessible for agency staff and their citizens. Innovative, web-based office and mobile software automates permit, asset and land management, and licensing processes for city, county, state, and federal government agencies worldwide.
Accela engaged Terrace Software, Inc. to assist with evaluating and prototyping an Azure solution to bridge their existing customer on-premise and SaaS provided software with a new generation of mobile software aimed at the tablet and smartphone market. Emphasis was made on general Azure support and development of a multi-tenant data storage service.
Cenzic, Inc.
Cenzic is the trusted provider of software, managed service, and cloud security products that help organizations secure their websites against hacker attacks. Cenzic focuses on Web
application security, automating the process of identifying security defects at the Web application level where more than 75% of attacks occur, help customers in remediating those defects, manage risk and get compliance with regulations such as PCI.
Cenzic engaged Terrace to assist with the design and launch of their flagship software to the Microsoft Azure Cloud. Terrace architects and senior consultants worked with Cenzic’s off-shore team to design and implement a best practices Azure architecture for their products.
Loryx Systems, Inc.
Connectrex (formerly Loryx Systems, Inc.) provides .NET-based solutions for Probation, Pretrial Services Agencies, Jails and Treatment Courts. Connectrex migrated some of their
on-premises software to Microsoft Azure to provide more cost-effective solutions to the public-sector marketplace.
Terrace was engaged by Microsoft to provide Loryx with an Azure architecture design session. As The Azure specific deliverables Terrace provided to Loryx included: preliminary architectural design; complete draft architectural design; complete final architectural design; and complete development architectural guidance.

CPP, Inc. is the leading publisher and provider of innovative products and services for individual and organizational development, supplying reliable training solutions to leading businesses and universities of all sizes. CPP’s hundreds of offerings have been used by millions of individuals in more than 100 countries, in more than 20 languages. Among CPP’s world-renowned brands are the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, Strong Interest Inventory® and others.
acceleration and architectural services for their next-generation eCommerce platform on Microsoft Azure. Terrace designed and developed an advanced encrypting multi-tenant data storage solution intended to be geo-replicated worldwide. In addition, Terrace designed content management, RESTful services based data access, and claims based set of multi-tenant web applications. Azure will provide strategic benefits to CPP by allowing the company to offer a faster and more reliable service, more easily support multiple languages, provide both scale out and scale back of its services to meet fluctuating demand, and business agility to allow CPP to enter geographic regions with a variety of partner offerings.
Ingersoll-Rand
Ingersoll Rand is a global diversified firm which delivers solutions that make everyday living healthier, more energy efficient, more comfortable and more productive. Ingersoll Rand provides a diverse range of offerings through a portfolio of market-leading brands, which include Club Car®, Ingersoll Rand®, Thermo King® and Trane®.
Terrace was engaged by Ingersoll Rand to perform a security and performance review for a company-wide NFC authentication and verification system implemented at all major physical locations to secure access by employees, contractors and suppliers. Terrace reviewed the Azure and NFC device implementation. Terrace provided recommendations to Ingersoll Rand for changes to improve performance and reduce vulnerability.
Empower Software Technologies, Inc.
Empower Software Technologies, Inc. is an established software ISV in Southern California focused on offering management and accounting software for the local storage marketplace (e.g. storage rentals). Terrace was engaged by Empower to migrate Empower’s on-premises packaged software from Windows
desktops to a Microsoft Azure eCommerce solution. Terrace worked with Empower to create a cloud-based solution for storage rental operators and customers to access accounting and logistical information about 1) the business operation and 2) the customers’ individual storage rental units.
MultiPop
Multipop is disrupting the digital video experience by building the first truly scalable interactive video platform. Multipop lets anyone monetize video in minutes by adding engaging
commerce, content extensions and new advertising opportunities to any video in minutes. This drives deeper engagement and monetization opportunities around existing or new digital video content and rich media placements.
Terrace was engaged by Multipop to provide architecture and development services for Multipop’s data warehouse and transactional reporting implementation on Microsoft Azure. Terrace designed and developed a big data implementation to support split second data streaming of real time video analytics into the Azure data warehouse.
PRIMARQ Incorporated
PRIMARQ Incorporated is a startup focused on delivering private syndication of residential real estate equity.
Terrace worked with PRIMARQ to develop Phase I of the PRIMARQ eCommerce Exchange. This site is now up and running in a private beta. Phase II of this development will begin once PRIMARQ’s next round of financing is approved.
Qmadix
Qmadix Inc. is the leader in mobile gadgets and accessories. Qmadix designs, develops and manufactures first-to-market accessories for new handset launches, as well as offering contract manufacturing to the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM). Qmadix delivers products and services to a multitude of channels, including Mobile Network Operators, Authorized Agents, Distributors, National Retailers, and e-tailers.
Terrace was engaged by Qmadix to design, develop and maintain the second generation of Qmadix’s agile supply chain management system on Microsoft Azure. This innovative system connects manufacturing and distribution directly to retail end points to compress the supply chain and dramatically improve re-order threshold fulfillment, reporting and management.
Shutterfly
Shutterfly, Inc. is a family of brands in the business of sharing life's moments for their customers. Shutterfly offers
personalized photo products and services through Shutterfly, Tiny Prints, Treat and Wedding Paper Divas. Each of these
Shutterfly offers a services which is characterized by seasonal use. Shutterfly asked Microsoft to develop a proof of concept architecture to support cloud based compute services during
seasonally adjusted high demand. Terrace was engaged by Microsoft to design a burst overflow compute capability to transparently extend the Shutterfly on premise servers during peak seasonal periods.
SolarCity
SolarCity is America's largest solar power provider. SolarCity makes clean energy available to homeowners, businesses, schools, non-profits and government organizations at a lower
cost than they pay for energy generated by burning fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas. SolarCity is a nearly paperless operation with all mission critical documents, engineering diagrams, etc. stored on advanced on premise storage. Every packaged and custom program accesses these objects directly through a variety of devices (local and mobile). This storage is growing rapidly. SolarCity asked Microsoft to design a durable Azure cloud based storage facility. Microsoft engaged Terrace to design and implement a proof of concept to storage architecture for a large data store (currently 60 TB+) which would be securely available to all current users without any major changes to their large inventory of standard and custom programs.
Subfusion, Inc.
Subfusion is a bootstrapped startup who has developed Tenny Eats - a social networking app for food lovers.
Subfuzion engaged Terrace Software to develop an Azure based solution to support the backend infrastructure for a mobile social networking application. The solution included eCommerce web site and application design, custom software, and full web application code development. The engagement produced a working prototype and solution acceleration.
VideoDesk
VideoDesk provides an elastic service to enable providers and customers to interact using video chat over the web and mobile devices. The VideoDesk service enables companies to
answer questions, demo a product, show details, even help a customer buy and check out. It’s a private one-way video, your customer sees the agent; your agent cannot see your customer. It all happens directly in the browser. There are voice and text options, too. This popular service is implemented in a variety of sites including the Microsoft Store.
Terrace was engaged by VideoDesk to migrate the VideoDesk service form AWS to Microsoft Azure for implementation on the Microsoft Store online. Terrace designed and implemented the VideoDesk Azure implementation, AWS integration and site monitoring using New Relic.
Vusion
Vusion, a Trimble company, specializes in data analytics and integration for trucking companies; providing operational metrics to help fleet management make better, more predictive decisions
about equipment, vehicles and people. Using proprietary modeling technology, Vusion transforms driver performance metrics, GPS data and data from vehicle and equipment manufacturers into meaningful, actionable analytics—streamlining fleet tax reporting,
improving fuel efficiency and helping optimize operational profitability. Vusion has seen rapid growth, today serving more than 200 companies with a total of over 100,000 tractors.
Terrace was engaged by Microsoft to design a proof of concept processing and data
warehousing storage architecture to support real time split second data streaming of embedded tractor trailer telematics devices to Azure. Terrace delivered a durable high performance compute and storage architecture which enabled Vusion to validate their long term foundation for future telematic device reporting and management.
WinZip International LLC
WinZip Computing, A Corel Company, draws on its core strength as the #1 zip software provider to deliver the power of
compression and encryption to where it’s needed most – email, mobile, social media and online. WinZip's award winning offerings include apps for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android, the ZipSend and ZipShare online services, and WinZip System Utilities Suite.
Terrace was engaged by WinZip and Microsoft to migrate the ZipShare file sharing eCommerce platform from Google to Azure keeping the core technology in place. Terrace implemented the ZipShare 2.0 service on Microsoft Azure using a RESTful API, Google Sitebricks and Java. The site is implemented on an Apache Tomcat webserver running as a Microsoft Azure worker role. Terrace designed a fully asynchronous back end allowing Java Applications to run on Microsoft Azure worker roles providing ‘on demand’ scalability. This innovative architecture will permit WinZip to scale the services out and in to support both normal and massive load volumes. The new ZipShare site is integrated with the latest release of WinZip.
