Researcher at the Norwegian Institute for Urban and Regional Research in the research group working on environmental issues and planning. My work include research projects concerning (i) densification processes in cities (ii) environmental concerns in planning (iii) functioning of the planning legislation and planning agencies in the Norwegian as well as the in European context iv) quality in urban environments and the use of morphological analyses. The Doctoral thesis concerned with possibilities of implementing a compact city model as a means of obtaining a sustainable urban development.

Research projects concerning (i) architectural research: theory and methods (ii) the concept of dwelling and housing for the elderly (iii) design of kindergartens (iv) dwellings for the mentally retarded (v) accessibility for the disabled January 1978-1979 Architect at the Town Planning Office of the Municipality of Tromsø

working with the preparation and implementation of land-use plans in rural and urban context.

Architect and building project manager in the County of Akershus. Responsibility for planning and construction of various public building projects, mainly schools, hospitals, kindergartens and dwellings.
